The Royal Ascot at the eponymous racetrack is not only one of the oldest but also the most famous horse races in the world. It is particularly known for its dress code, which requires gentlemen to wear a morning dress in a shade of ascot gray, consisting of a cutaway and top hat, while ladies stand out with extravagant hats.

The Derby Club House line presents the theme of horses through its stirrup-like bottle and naming - and even claims elegance in connection with tradition, yet the content fails to reflect this.

The Eau de Toilette gallops along gently with rather strict, harsh, almost medicinal notes. In between, there is an unpleasant slightly synthetic trail paired with dark woodiness and dry spice. What can definitely be detected is a hint of clove and a modest pinch of nutmeg.
The rest is completely left behind.

At times, one even gets the impression that a poor imitation of oud has crept in, and somehow the entire fragrance just doesn’t work, although it does emit a hint of potential usability in the middle phase.

I think Derby Club House Ascot will neither be worn by high society at the horse races nor will it play a significant role for fragrance enthusiasts. Accordingly, there is no need for anyone to wear or even remove a hat for this.
