'A Drop of Water on a Woman's Skin'
Pure is a thick, rounded, full bodied version of L'eau d'Issey.
In this flanker, the aloof and skeletal yuzu is covered by a chewy marine amber, soft fluffy woods and an orange flower bouquet.

Even though it's a simple linear structure, Pure is an abstract composition replete with nuance and contrast. And, because of this, the perfume escapes the capacity of the critic's words to adequately describe it; the artist's panoply of nuance defeats the writer's lexicon, and all the novice can do is salute the master, Dominique Ropion.

Lily of the Valley Goes Overboard
Today at the airport, I was in the mood for a fresh scent; the bottle of this fragrance caught my eye first in the duty-free shop and was immediately tested on my skin. And it always turns out to be a flop, making you wish you had sprayed the scent on a paper strip first...

At first, I smell a blue freshness accord, which is likely due to the fragrance ingredient Maritima. Lemon is present and gives an aquatic-fresh, but unfortunately also somewhat synthetic opening. I think I also perceive verbena, as the citrus notes are accompanied by a bitter undertone. In the heart note, the flowers then come to the forefront, with the lily of the valley standing out the most alongside the jasmine. Due to the already quite strong sillage, everything unfortunately feels very artificial and overwhelming to me. The woods and cashmeran mentioned in the base note do make the fragrance a bit softer, but the notes still remain synthetic and cling very long to the skin.

Conclusion: A very strong and long-lasting fragrance that, unfortunately for me, is not fresh but rather very overwhelming! I would rather continue searching for a delicate yet lasting fresh spring scent.

Since L'eau d'Issey is one of the mainstays of my collection, I also like to try its flankers.
I enjoy the summer editions, and I also like the floral and absolue versions - but what about Pure?

No long preamble - it appeals to me immediately.

I admit that I had to Google the ingredient Maritima, and the mentioned beach trident is unfamiliar to me.
However, the supposed similarity to coriander leaf takes me a little further.

I immediately liked the delicate powderiness of the fragrance, which is rather atypical for Miyake.
Nevertheless, the clarity of the scent remains intact.
It is aquatic with an alluring misty veil over it.
Could amber be responsible for that?
The floral notes of lily of the valley, jasmine, and rose are like freshly cut - straight from the garden.
The cashmeran adds a soft focus to it.
The wood is also green and fresh.

I find this combination of powdery softness and invigorating green very interesting and extremely successful - and it makes the fragrance subtly feminine.

For me, it is the next candidate for purchase.

Tested Yesterday. A little warmer than the classic EDI, but with no longevity. I'm sorry but I prefer the original born in the 90es!

It irritated me a bit right after spraying, but then it turned into a clean, soft floral scent. Just nice!

A hint of orange blossom (so it doesn't overwhelm anyone) and a calm - harmonious aura of the scent - sporty/sexy/well-groomed!

Finally, a lily of the valley that doesn't make me feel the urgent need for a shower or at least a spritz of Mademoiselle.

Maritima? More like Nucleara! Lily of the valley on steroids. Nope!

Sprayed it on and watched all the flowers run away. What’s left is confusion, synthetic notes, and diluted "I don’t know."

Was included in an order, otherwise I would have never tried it. My nemesis: aquatic + lily of the valley + soapy flowers. Moving on...

Synthetic lily of the valley, has nothing to do with the original. Just a random water.

Very delicate L'eau DNA, but no spice. Fresh flowers, light aquatic notes, soft cashmeran, good longevity.

Not quite right. The Maritima lingers until the base note, but it feels a bit scratchy. Or is it the lily of the valley?
