My Little Spring Friend
Once again a "cheap scent" for a change, from our local drugstore.
"Like a first day in spring" is wishful thinking on my part, as it unfortunately doesn't look like that outside. I hope to conjure up a bit of spring (in my heart) with this.
Yesterday I took it home with me, as its fresh, fruity top note pleasantly lifted my spirits, which is not too bad on a gray, damp, cold February day.
Sure, the longevity is not particularly great, sure, it is not a revelation, not a fragrance statement or a masterpiece, it is just a small pleasant scent that lifts the mood towards cheerfulness.
The heart note is fruit, round and dark (blackberry), I don't smell anything of praline, and only a hint of rose, but "who cares?"
I took the little version for 2.99 home with me, and besides my wrists, I also scented my bed linen. I fell asleep comfortably with it and had very nice dreams, waking up cheerfully to a new steel-gray, damp, cold February day. What more could I want?
I even like the "Day in Spring" better than its family member from Essence, "like a day in a candy shop," which I also have. And here too, the price-performance ratio is more than satisfactory; you can't go wrong here.
Of course, I only recommend it if you are willing to descend from the "fragrance Olympus" to the "lowlands," which I occasionally enjoy doing.
The dry down of this little scent is also cheerful, pleasantly vanilla-sandalwood, loosely powdery.
It is not a "great formulation," you have smelled something like this and similar before, it is not "outstanding," it does not inspire intellectual flights of fancy, but hey, it is simply pretty and pleasantly uncomplicated. And that is quite enough for today.
