Gripewater floral, wierd but great if you love dill pickles
This is a perfume built on a series of weird but wearable contrasts. First, it is balsamic but also airily floral. With its clutch of frankincense and mastic, it smells like a dense wall of greenish balsams – all crushed pine needles, sap, and terpenes – through which a slightly wilted (but still deodorant fresh) tandem of oily hyacinth and lush rose throbs like a flesh wound. Still, despite all the floral and balsamic notes, the first big hit to the synapses is of polished wood and spice.

It is never less than syrupy sweet, thanks to that rose, but it is also as vegetally piquant as long fingers of butter pickles fished straight from a jar to your mouth. This watery, almost cucumberish element seems like it would make the scent feel fresh, but instead, the overall impression is one of dark, seedy warmth.

Something about the interaction between the peppered wood, the gripe water florals, and that balsamic curtain of green makes me think of something delicious reduced to a dark, sticky concentrate. Its nectary heft makes me think of those balsamic vinegar glazes you buy to drizzle over a tagliata or green walnut salad – sweet, sour, and thick with the umami tang of Parmesan or soy.

The sandalwood and labdanum in the base are supposed to bring the bodacious comfort of an amber to finish things off, but hold up, because though there is creaminess, it is the animalic creaminess of goat yoghurt, sweat, and caramel taken too far past burning point. The lingering tartness or acidity from the hyacinth, or maybe even from Baruti’s signature ‘nood’ – a dank, metallic, but rousing synthetic base built to approximate oud without using any of the industry’s off-the-shelf oud synths – runs in the background like an application, giving the blend an addictive piquancy that keeps your nose returning for more.

Like many of Spyros’ creations, Indigo is perhaps too special or distracting for me to wear on a regular basis. But I plan to buy it one day, if only as a piece of olfactory art I bring out for those specific moments when I want to tumble down wormholes and wander the labyrinthine pathways of a true artist’s imagination.

New Plastic
This is that smell of taking that vacuumed sealed wrap off new plastic appliances - like when you first got the Wii U, or playstation. Obviously I'm a little nostalgic of that, so this perfume hits just the right notes for me. The rose shines through beautiful with the mastic with a creamy base. Sandalwood and oud add a touch of spice and ground to the scent. But otherwise it's a very classy and unique scent. Debating if I want to pick up a full bottle.

Lukewarm confusion
Spyros the Greek messed me up here. There is something unusual to this perfume. On one hand this is a cool, almost green scent. On the other hand it is thick and warm. This combination of cool and warm smoke causes my receptors to short circuit. In an enjoyable way, that is.

Indigo is heavy on the resins. Mastic and olibanum. From beginning to end, they stay firmly in the core of the scent, accompanied by some powdery florals and in the base a blend of indistinct woods. Spyros' signature "I can't believe it is not Oud" accord (NOOUD) is also mentioned but I can not really isolate it.

Despite the amounts of resin and woods, this leaves a surprisingly low-density cloud of smoke. I would rather call it airy and sunny. Almost floral. There is a lively, sort of musky side to this perfume, that I particularly like. A sunny day sunny mood experience while it is actually cold and rainy outside.

Indigo-Green
Indigo is actually associated with a shade between blue and violet or the similarly named blue dye that is originally derived from the Indian indigo plant. However, the shade that emerges when dyeing textiles with indigo tends to lean more towards green.

So far, so confusing. But this also fits with Baruti's Indigo, as I perceive it more in the color green. After all, when I sniff it, I get associations with plant sap, cucumber, and dill, as is also described in some statements.

At first, the Extrait de Parfum comes across as rather strict and bitter with a decent natural touch. I hardly perceive the rather sweet hyacinth; instead, I notice much more of the resinous tones with a delicate pistachio aroma from the mastic resin, along with the familiar subtly used incense and light wood.
All the other listed ingredients fade into the background or do not assert themselves.

This certainly seems absolutely ambitious and creative on Spyros Drosopoulos's part, but on the other hand, it is a bit exhausting. Of course - those who prefer something sweet will not necessarily be happy here.
Nonetheless, Indigo is a bit too special for me, although I sometimes do enjoy something more angular and natural. The scent is somehow likable, after all.

A gentle green spicy-floral Mid season fragrance, balanced by a soft resinous-woody base. Rather linear. 100% Unisex!

Clearly mastic resin, very green with a slight floral sharpness plus some subtle incense. If you like that, it's great!

Thoughts: Fresh green resin, clear, incense, calm. Nothing blue like indigo here, neither sky nor sea. No pep, it touches me little.

Mediterranean bouquet of rose & hyacinth, stemmy & plant-juicy, wood-based & soapy. I would like it even more without the dill note.

Herb, green, fresh scent. Lightness. Ethereal incense. True, it leans towards cucumber, but with a bitter woody edge.

Beautiful mastic resin is at the center, surrounded by a lightly sweet rosy and slightly incense-like vibe. I see it more as a women's fragrance.

Good craftsmanship, but for me too much rose and hyacinth, making it too sweet and floral. Of course, it's natural. Too creamy for me.
