iris maelstrom, leathery-fruity osmanthus, billowing plush musks and amber
bursts open as a dense maelstrom; vintage buttery lipstick, waxy iris cosmetic powderiness. a chalky, dry and sweet crumbliness of almond macarons. deepening leathery nuances, flecks of dried fruit osmanthus; a boozy, bittersweet liqueur. melts into smooth peppery white woods, growing musky, plush and ambery with the drydown.

The iris by baruti
This perfume is wonderful... It is like a more intense, dense, concentrated and with better quality of Dior homme. It has the powdery vibe of iris, like a Lipstick or makeup smell, like we find in Dior, Valentino uomo ir gentleman by givenchy, but more alcoholic and elegant. I could say that It smells a bit like carrots too.

The performance and the quality of the ingredients is the typical of baruti. I have tried 5 different perfume by them and they have never dissapointed me. It lasts almost the whole day on skin with a moderate but continuous trail.

I find the smell unisex and very versatile bacause ar the same time is much more subtle than Dior homme, therefore It can be worn every time and under no matter which weather.

Perplexed…..
I tested DAMA KOUPA because I practically test everything that has Iris on the label and in the bottle…..

My very first impression of the scent: Not necessarily beautiful, but definitely “rare” ;-)…..

What can be undoubtedly noted right from the start: DAMA KOUPA is a rather sweet fragrance………This already disqualifies it for me personally……but that doesn’t mean much……after all, there are plenty of sweet-toothed people among us :-)…..

At first, I smell almond cookies, the first hint of a beautiful Iris, fruity chocolate, slightly nutty notes, green notes……...and: alcohol……since I don’t drink myself, I can’t really tell what kind it might be……but since it’s a sweet alcohol note, I would guess something liqueur-like……..

Be that as it may……..I hope that this fades away as time goes on….…

While the opening was quite overwhelming, DAMA KOUPA becomes increasingly refined and delicate as it wears on…..

The almond cookie note has now taken a backseat and a rather unpowdery Iris takes the stage……it is neither particularly earthy nor particularly carroty or “lipstick-like” for my nose……more floral and “petal-like”…….and could actually be quite nice…..

But:

Gradually, some strange disruptive factors set in for my nose……is it the balsam fir that doesn’t quite harmonize with the overall concept…? Is it the still-present alcoholic note..? Or are the woods that are now becoming quite noticeable the culprit…?

I can’t quite say or describe it, but something from here on just doesn’t feel right to me…….

While the sweetness decreases over time, it is unfortunately replaced by a (for my nose) unpleasant bitterness……

I am not at all happy with this new “twist” in the plot and have to conclude that DAMA KOUPA is a fragrance that leaves me somewhat perplexed……

I can’t even rate it because I simply don’t know what to make of it…….

Postscript: just before the scent completely fades, it develops a rather pleasant base…….

Scent of Grappa Wood Barrel with Lipstick
For me, this is an extraordinary fragrance. Waves of highly concentrated carrot-iris create a scent reminiscent of a Grappa wood barrel.
Without having read the fragrance pyramid, I wouldn't have thought of Grappa on my own; I always thought: You know this smell from somewhere...

The main players alongside the iris are probably bitter almond, beeswax, and fir. However, since the Grappa note dominates everything, I have difficulty perceiving the fir individually, for example.

When I'm not thinking of Grappa, I also smell a chalky lipstick note.

Strong scent with good sillage. Lasts more than 24 hours.

I received a sample in a swap and am very grateful to the kind perfumer for this fragrant experience.

Weird, pasty, distastefully blended iris root and wax

Despite its intense sweet-gourmand opening, this fragrance quickly settles to a solid powdery floral-woody base. Keep sprays to a minimum!

A lovely cosmetic blend of iris and almonds, smoothed with a dry elegant leathery edge. Distinctive, well-crafted with a steady presence.

At first, there's a hint of alcohol
It becomes waxy-balsamic
With a dry-powdery carrot iris
Cocoa aroma
Not easy, but interesting

Root wax iris transforms from a non-sweet sweetness into a parchment roll that has absorbed the breath of a Grappa barrel.

Iris usually works for me, but it has to be particularly well-crafted. That's the case here. A finely powdered iris, moderately sweet.

Fine leather, beeswax lipstick, dry wood + fir branches crackle brightly. A hard-to-grasp scent, yet exciting + elegant.
