From another time
The pale red evening sky is reflected in the water. The sun hangs like a white ball of embers over the black, contourless mountains. No carefree pink, no youthful blue at their edges. Everything blends together. Orange, green, purple. The water.

In certainty of approaching darkness, I let myself fall.

Memories become. Juicy billows of deceptive citrus skillfully spill a deep ripe vibrancy. Herbaceous green 1978, but today. Moss and creepers, more wonderfully retro and bulky than they've been in a long time. The honey-yellow rays increasingly caught in the predawn state of evening glow.

Moss ferns warm me. Nothing pushes back into the darkness. I remember something. Breathing. The green feelers of the plants reach into my organism. I dig into the resin and lie down beside the little flowers.

Powerful pinks. Earth tones. Feet tied into a tail. I glide through this complex melange of masculine and feminine pithiness as if intoxicated. It remains unclear whether the beguiling power can even be attributed to a gender other than nature.

The sumptuous duality melts into insouciant, leathery bubblegum powder, an imposing but elegant jasmine stringency, orange-speckled citrus sand, and big, heavy blobs of green-resinous dark honey.

A lush, antique floral sea, iridescent and deep. The earthy rugged ground that holds it lies in mysterious sweet vapor on my skin.

In the party cellar with Francesca
Epilogue: You could turn it around however you wanted. Wool and his had a problem. One had a lawsuit on
Neck and Wolle a credibility problem. After he had tested some Bianchis, the Herne crew called themselves the fur friends. All found that funny with a lot of alcohol, Wolle said he had the name of a chapter from Guatemala, had translated that and that were really dangerous guys. The only problem was: it wasn't true. He had, as was then revealed in the lawsuit, taken the name from the children's series Paw Patrol, where Ryder, the protagonist, titled his crew of dogs with helper syndrome as Furry Friends. To Wolle's argument that he had only seen one episode with his nephew, Hotte replied that Wolle didn't have a nephew. Thereupon Wolle wanted to flee, but stumbled over a stool in the clubhouse and his Paw Patrol shirt came out.

A few weeks later: Wool was out to make amends and renew his reputation. So he invited everyone to his party basement and also came up with a new scent: Freefall - Etruscan Water.
What else could he do? Thanks to the lawsuit, saving money was the order of the day everywhere else. There was Turmbräu beer for 30 cents a can and various 2 euro spirits. In addition, Wolle had conjured in the forest self-distilled, but was caught when he stopped at a red light. There he got out and covered the tarpaulin to have a drink first, he was already sitting on the dry for five minutes. Unfortunately, the traffic light was next to the police building and so almost everything had been confiscated.

So one got drunk for little money. A brilliant idea could Wolle but still attach and indeed he wanted instead of the shop talk to the Etruscan Water in each case three objects put down and all had to recognize the ingredients correctly. Not quite easy if you know that half of the Rocker nothing at all more grasp let alone recognize could except the beer cans.

First Wolle put down a green tangerine as well as in the double pack in addition a grapefruit, then a pumpkin and a telephone. The majority knew, that smells quite fresh and young as well as citrusy, that was the tangerine accompanied by the pleasant acidity of the grapefruit. Only Hotte was off the mark with the pumpkin. Udo was completely wrong, he just fell down next to the table with the items lengthwise. One knew it.

Then it was already warmer in the scent but Bianchi-untypical little subliminally erotic but merely warming. Here wool laid down a fur, in which various ingredients were embroidered like animal musk, accompanied by the strict hay-scented immortelle, which have been packed by the musk and the amber but warm. The other items were a case of beer and a surety bond to pay for Wolle's court costs.
Everyone reached for the beer, including Wolle. Only Udo was right, because the fur was convenient for him to make a cape. He had watched too much Wickie, the Viking the day before.

As beautiful as the fragrance was already here, it was not yet perfected because only with the later herbaceous-refreshing note Etruscan Water gained in class. There were three answer options again: the oak moss, a portrait of Jörg Draeger together with wool dressed as a zonk or a Mettigel. This time, everyone knew it was c.
No, fun, the oakmoss of course thanks to its captivating cool spiciness, very nicely staged. This let the fragrance more pleasing than other Bianchi products, fresher especially than other fragrances from the house and this is in the end, therefore, a Bianchi fragrance for those who like the house, but find the other creations too lush.

Anyway, so the scent description in an unusual way was a complete success and everyone got even more drunk and happy when the Swiss temp biker asked the additional question: who is Wolle trying to woo on Parfumo? Is it the chicken with a soft spot for beer? Or His new discovery which is why he acquired ten different batches of Aventus or c, sorry had to make the name unrecognizable, Froyd? Right. All three.

At a loss in the forest
While searching for a summer fragrance with Italian flair, I came across Francesca Bianchi's Etruscan Water.

The fragrance pyramid says a lot - the fragrance goes in a special direction, which leaves me helpless. I can't push the fragrance into a drawer with the best will in the world - and that's exactly what's so brilliant and beautiful about it.

A wonderfully citric beginning, there is grapefruit peel, crushed lemon leaves, some bergamot. A wonderful citrus chord, green, juicy, but bitter, ladies and gentlemen, nothing with fruity.
Then it goes quickly and the barks, juices, roots, and sweaty skin is added. The scent goes in a dark green earthy direction. Bitter, oily, herbaceous, the iris root and the resins show their full potential, accompanied by heavy white flowers. Jasmine, maybe some neroli. There's also caraway, of course, but it doesn't bother you at all, it's a wonderful caraway.
Up to here an absolute experience, this is sexy, this is animalistic, this is damn cool and I can not get enough of it smell. The scent is constantly changing, a soapy note is added, some fresh laundry. A chameleon in the Tuscan Forest.

Durability is very good, 8h+, worn today at almost 30c.

He leaves me helpless. Is that something for me? Can I carry this? Can anyone wear this? The fragrance is extremely complex, fascinating and I have never smelt anything like it before. He's loud and impetuous and untamed and has no rules. A scent for sabre-toothed tiger tamers. For truffle pig trainers. For peat collectors. For earthworm searchers. For mole hijackers. But just so great. I'm at a loss

C'era una volta a Firenze
I'm nowhere near the end of my journey with Francesca Bianchi fragrances, but let me start at the beginning. In the beginning was Under My Skin, which I was immediately blown away by (review then elsewhere, but in short I thought - wow, this is already right off the bat the drydown of Chypre Palatin!), and after hearing that the FBs all have a similar backbone, I was pretty sure, ok, that's all I'll need then. Even when someone on a forum told me, watch out! - you order a sample set and poof you have several bottles of FBs standing at home! Nah, I felt relatively safe there and so (haha!) ordered several samples. Which have stuck with me ever since. (As I write this, there are two more bottles on their way to me from Italy right now. Q.E.D.)

But why is now my first comment of a FB fragrance the one about Etruscan Water? In short, because I fell in love with it very briskly. But not at first sight, not in the morning right after spraying it on, but in the afternoon, after I had already spent a whole day with it and suddenly perceived completely different facets. Also, it seems to me that this fragrance is getting a bit lost in the public perception next to the other FBs, and it doesn't deserve that.

To say it up front: for me, Etruscan Water is a masterpiece. A great chypre with a Bianchi touch, a finely honed David among all the rough-hewn fougères.

Because it starts as a chypre and then becomes a fougère, yes. Would I have thought a few years ago that I would ever wear a fougère let alone love one? No. But first came "Sartorial" by Penhaligons, and then this.

The opening already is a dream. I perceive citric notes and feel reminded of "New York Intense" by Parfums de Nicolai, but as if NYI had once been pulled through a fat liquid. And soon the so Bianchi-typical waxiness appears, what many here call their deoxyribonucleic acid. There's some sweetness (immortelle?) added to the lemony, but at no point does the scent get sticky. It's just sexy, smooth, and sexy again.

In the course, fine leather blows over every now and then when you move, but it's far from leather bangers like FB's The Black Knight (more on that in another place), but it's more like you're walking past a tannery, but it's been closed for a while for operational reasons. Plus oakmoss, which smells as if oakmoss had never been removed from the list of ingredients by the IFRA, flanked by spices and flowers, perfectly orchestrated.

From early afternoon onwards, the oakmoss and vetiver clearly emerge. And yes, I'm not hiding it, from this point on, Etruscan Water is a derringer. I even get a hairspray vibe every now and then. But, and this is the great thing: there's nothing artificial about it. Yes, it britzelt now and then in the nose, so sprays the, but that's just how it is when you press your trunk into the forest floor.

Etruscan Water is very good to wear in winter, even in very cold temperatures, as I have found in recent weeks. This surprised me at first, because I had imagined something cool, refreshing with the fragrance name. Etruscan water, however, is more like one that flows over an ancient stone (e.g. the David in Florence), already slightly mossy, while the salty air of the sea from the Maremma wafts in from afar. Of course, I'm also looking forward to wearing it in high summer, because I'm willing to bet that it will then reveal completely new facets.

My goodness, it's nice when a fragrance really grabs you! One of the two YouTubers from Wafts From the Loft (Joe?) once said - and he's damn right - Francesca Bianchi's fragrances are united by the fact that they don't act like perfumes. When you meet someone wearing FB, you don't say, "Oh, what are you wearing?" you say approvingly, "Wow, you smell good!" That's it. These fragrances become one with their wearer.

"Wow, you smell good!" At least, that's what I always tell myself when I meet myself while wearing Francesca Bianchi.

Revel in green
Tightly entwined
On damp moss
Thick drops
Fall
From the dense canopy
Single rays of sunlight
Make their way

A rushing brook
Glassy water

Lush blossoms
Swarmed with colorful butterflies
And dragonflies

Singing birds in every imaginable
Shades of green

Big beetles
And emerald lizards
On the lush green

Snakes coil
Around the streams

In the distance
Centaurs cross the forest

All at peace
All in harmony

Close to paradise

A faun
- who thinks evil of it.

With Freefall - Etruscan Water Francesca Bianchi has succeeded an absolute masterpiece. A fragrance full of passion for the color green. With strength and endurance, as if the day may be infinite.
A fragrance perfect for this May, where everything is especially green and blooming.

Estruscan Water gives me a new head rush every time I wear it.

Is it fragrance to the exotic setting of Avatar?
Or is it the scent of peace and idyll?
Or is it the scent tomorrow that reminds me, reminds me of a long hike on the island of Karpathos to the village of Messochori, exhausted seeking freshness and finding it, at a bubbling spring that springs from the church???

For me, I have (currently) found the grail for spring/summer fragrances.

Chapeau and grazie Signora Bianchi.

Very sexy and elegant chypre with a citrusy and spicy opening. I get immortelle, oakmoss and the saltiness of the ambergris. Quite musky too
