Disappeared Beneath the Waves
This goes on with a strong Scotchguard smell, and then quickly becomes ambery, like a high-quality stryax (liquidamber). After four hours, it becomes a skin scent and it has warmed up more, turning faintly resinous and snob-flower luxurious. The silage is never more than a foot. At six hours, the flower accord dominates to turn it completely in the direction of elegance. By seven hours, it is gone.

Coeur de Noir is a decent scent, held back by a lugubrious development. I guess if you needed a scent in your collection, you could do a lot worse for more money. Sadly, I don't detect very many of the notes they list. Rum, ginger, and ink are all overboard, disappeared beneath the waves.

The Literary Sailor
The sample card that accompanied my sample of “Cœur de Noir” featured a quote from Joseph Conrad’s “Heart of Darkness”, which gave me some context for the name. But unlike Vi Et Armis , this is no scene of colonial plunder. This is the scent of a literary sailor, of a Joseph Conrad or a Herman Melville.

The scent opens with the exact smell of old paper and India ink, before moving into warmer territory—sweet pipe tobacco and super-dry vanilla; a decadent aftertaste of rum. Another review here mentioned Memoirs of a Trespasser, and I would categorize this in that same category of “masculine-leaning vanilla”, but the ink and pipe tobacco notes of “Cœur” really dial up the luxury feel here. This is a rich scent, ideal-masculine and mature, at home in the captain’s cabin at sea and wood-paneled reading rooms on land.

The jester that announces your arrival kind of perfume
My nose detects lots of burnt wood, ash- perfect for cold weather. The first minute or so after the spray, it's very volatilesque, synthetic, but it stabilize soon, and it's a very uniform projection (constant) .
I find it as being that what people say Encre Noir Extreme is- true smoke.
I tried to combine it with EN, but EN is too sweet, and it makes extreme contrasty smells.

So, longevity, medium to poor on skin, extremely good on clothes and hair.
I smell lots of burnt wood, charcoal, and the drydow starts with oily workshop mixed with dust, and finally end in leathery old clothes, dried ones (solvents of the leather dyes kind of) .

So, for 45$ for 50ml, I would recommend it, for the full price however, only if you're into the stuff I described it as.
I don't love it, or hate it, I think it's great for the winters, cold weathers, to wear on your coat or scarf, as an introduction to whatever you wear on you garments beaneath.
It is not a masterpiece.

Smells manly and dark with a touch of sour
I really enjoy this one. It projects super well and has a lot of staying power. So, I tend to wear it when I'm going out rather than being somewhere enclosed. That said, this is tame compared to some of the other offerings from this house. After the initial spray it's hard for me to pick out any individual notes of this fragrance from a distance, you get just a smoke and slightly sour birch tar (which smells eerie to me) but closer you can pick out the ink, smoke, leather, along with the background of a very nice woody smell. The tobacco and rum are present, but I wouldn't have picked them out without knowing they were there, they really blend with the birch tar to me. A thing I enjoy about most of the Beaufort fragrances are how they become beautiful skin scents after the initial firework, this is no different, after 2-4 hours it's a very complex woody fragrance that you can still very easily smell on your skin for 10 hours.

i got jumped by bergamot
opens with bergamot and lemon so strongly that it can only be described as 'cleaning supplies' (according to my friends), the rum's alcoholic tinge really does make the first spray a bit overwhelming. once this first spray dries down, it turns beautiful. it becomes very subtle, and i had trouble picking the notes out, but it smells warm and comforting. just an overall beautiful scent that makes up entirely for the strong opening.

A vanilla fragrance masquerading as leather and tar. Opens bitter, smoky, resinous, great, but quickly devolves into unfocused resins.

A warm and dry, yet rather smooth, spicy leathery-woody Fall fragrance, with a pungent and dark, smoky spicy-green opening. Masculine.

Bold birch and leather duet with nuances of old wood, ink, vanilla, sweet booze, and pipe tobacco.

Unfortunately, the leather note smells like a stale salted BBQ on my skin... I love birch tar but this scent ain't it for me.

Fusciuni's Notturno if Notturno wasn't that good. Sorry, Beaufort, but this is not as impressive as Meo's creation.
