Thanks to FavelaJoe for this revelation first, who personally brought this gem over to me saying "have you heard this one before? It's really smokin'!"

Rushed up the stairs full of anticipation, sleeves up and I can hardly believe it.
This review is going to be quite different from most on the fragrance here so far.

All who are more active here, will probably sniff like me per week several dozen perfumes - for me often 30-50 per week, which I do not even manage to enter here All. Very rarely, once every 100, there is one that completely knocks my socks off. This one was IMMEDIATELY just such a one.

There is no particular darkness noticeable on my skin, nor leather or any note that should make it unwearable or "strong" for me, not even smoky particularly (compared to No Perfume by The Zoo, Bois DAscese etc)

I immediately detect a paper note, fresh new copy paper, which I really love. Ink, light spices and a balsamic vanilla. To me, the ginger even makes it smell fresh and as aquatic as the theme was handled in Zoologist Squid, only without the salt.

The smokiness is here with tobacco, vanilla and cedar so processed that for me also immediately Amouage Interlude comes to mind, but without the oriental and penetrating parts, but the sillage after about 8h.

Darkness is suggested here thematically as a summer night can be dark. Paper as a chord has just also something airy, fresh and lightness.

For me, a sensual composition that catapults me emotionally into different areas, from a summer night to the fireside evening, from the depths of the sea to the paper shop on the corner, from the old gentleman with a monocle to the avant-garde, but romantic hero of an 80s film adaptation, to modernity.

I've been looking for a fragrance that combines what I can in Encre Noire, Squid, Interlude, No Perfume, Lair du Désert Marocain, and Fougére and feels like my favorite.

Royal blue heart massage.

Disappeared Beneath the Waves
This goes on with a strong Scotchguard smell, and then quickly becomes ambery, like a high-quality stryax (liquidamber). After four hours, it becomes a skin scent and it has warmed up more, turning faintly resinous and snob-flower luxurious. The silage is never more than a foot. At six hours, the flower accord dominates to turn it completely in the direction of elegance. By seven hours, it is gone.

Coeur de Noir is a decent scent, held back by a lugubrious development. I guess if you needed a scent in your collection, you could do a lot worse for more money. Sadly, I don't detect very many of the notes they list. Rum, ginger, and ink are all overboard, disappeared beneath the waves.

Beaufort / Cœur de Noir
Another strong work from the Beaufort Stables. The fragrance this time is slightly sweet, and at the same time dark and strong, in which the aromas of slightly sweet vanilla and tobacco mix, sprinkled with rum on the skin and bitter, tarry and smoky birch tar. 'Black Heart' is a very interesting perfume, in which the main and opening note (of the head) is also played with ink (but it is very slightly perceptible to me).
A perfume with a really tarry, smoky and slightly sweet (vanilla / rum) perception. It lasts about 12 hours on my skin, although I feel them even longer. Projection for 5-6 hours is really noticeable. Nothing but to try those overseas delicacies, which, as usual at Beaufort's, are related to the history of England, sea trade, conquests, seafaring and refer to what was transported on these ships, what was eaten, what was traded, what was done and what was fought.
I recommend.

Dark, wild and intense experience
Coeur de Noir is the first fragrance from the niche fragrance house BeauFort London that I have tried. What an experience that was!

I heard about this house's nautical inspiration from the sea, the United Kingdom and everything around the island. The design of the fragrance bottles brought a vision of old ships, shipwrecks, rum and wood burning. Starting off my journey with the fragrance house with Coeur de Noir affirms all my envisioned expectations.
Coeur de Noir has a very masculine opening, it must be the most masculine fragrance I have dared to try lately.
It has a very distinct smell of burning wood, leather and fresh tobacco.
The depth of the fragrance, and it is a heavy one, lightens up, but remains masculine, leathery and with a pepper undertone.
It is damp, wet, and you can almost imagine yourself standing on the ship in the library looking around with no one around except yourself. You look through the papers on the table, spill the ink by mistake. The captain is just around the corner, his tobacco and glass of rum left untouched.

During oxidation, the fragrance becomes more spicy. On paper it is fresher with obvious hints of ginger, but unfortunately I cannot smell it on my skin. I would have loved this fresher element on myself, because it leans too masculine for me without it.
An hour in and the fragrance has remained the same, true to its initial notes of leather, smoke and pepper or what might be the note of tobacco.

Three hours in and the fragrance has settled down a lot, it actually becomes very wearable for me and reminds me of Memoirs of a Trespasser by Imaginary Authors.
Coeur de Noir is a rich fragrance that has a wonderful depth that I love in fragrances. The note composition is of ink, rum and ginger as top notes; leather and vanilla as middle notes; birch, tobacco and cedar as base notes.

Coeur de Noir is a unisex fragrance, but after trying it I immediately thought of my boyfriend and how wonderfully this fragrance will fit someone masculine.

BeauFort London is a fragrance house I will definitely continue revisiting.

beautiful conceptual experience
this was described as "an antique ink bottle" and it really feels like it. the opening is so similar to the watery smoky smell you get when you smell ink in a bottle, fresh and deep and rich.

as it settles (pretty quickly) it does go smokier, i get the wood and tobacco more, but it does still retain the vanilla note and some freshness that keep it from getting heavy and annoying.

can't speak about longevity yet, but so far i really appreciate how well the scent captures the concept it's trying to picture, in an elegant and sophisticated formulation that works even if you examine it beyond its novelty appeal.

A warm and dry, yet rather smooth, spicy leathery-woody Fall fragrance, with a pungent and dark, smoky spicy-green opening. Masculine.
