Just Because Sometimes You Just Wanna Smell Clean

I just finished up a test wearing of this particular fragrance. I am not mad about sport fragrances, but this one is actually pretty decent.

The opening is a citrusy blend of clementine oranges, a fairly harsh grapefruit, a bit of bitter lime, and then some lemon to boot. This harshness only lasts for a few minutes before settle down into a pleasant vetiver and cedar combination. Still gives a feeling a clean but is a little bit more distinctive than this very overrepresented genre of scent.

At the end, there is a soft sandalwood and cedar combination that is also pleasant. The end came later than what I was used to with this type of scent; longevity was around 5 hours on my skin. Not bad at all.

Overall, I like it and would give it a solid 7 out of 10. It will never be something I instinctively reach for, but I am sure it will get a bit of use this summer when I just want something clean for right out of the shower.

Lemons...

... and that in abundance from the lemon cake that stands in front of me in a café in Maria Wörth by Lake Wörthersee with a little brown one. A nice warm breeze comes from the lake. I watch the sailboats and surfers on the water while enjoying the cake.

When applying this fragrance, you first get an abundance of citrus accords in your nose. There’s also a slight sweetness. This then combines with mossy and woody notes. The perfume then dries down with vetiver.

The longevity and sillage are below average.

This is a scent for every age group and on warm days, it’s a nice, easily wearable fragrance during the day. However, it’s nothing special and becomes a bit boring.

If you enjoy a citrusy, dry, and very discreet scent, you are exactly right here.

Lemon Juice

Even at the risk of making some people go crazy, I want to defend this little fragrance. 30ml for 15 euros, but often available for half that price on sale. What I like about this scent is that it is honest. It doesn't aspire to be anything more than a citrus splash, with "Sport" written in big letters (which I like the least), and the bottle is wrapped in a grippy plastic that suggests more of a "VW spare part" association :)

While the chic crowd turns away in disgust, I point out that there have been far worse and newer fragrances sold for several times the price. Benetton Sport has none of the impertinent synthetic qualities of a "Hugo," and the pretentious aquatic notes of "Del Mar" are far from it, as are half-hearted excursions towards the East.

Benetton Sport only wants to refresh, and it does so without any embarrassment. The scent is very clean and, uh... "decent," so it doesn't come off as cheap.

Absolutely great for youthful fragrance beginners with a small budget. And the girls should leave the red counterpart on the shelf and go straight for this one, as BSM could easily be unisex.
