My opinion after almost 15 years of use
Hello,

I have been using Lui for almost 15 years, you will definately feel confident using it because the fragrance is very masculine but unfortunately you will be the only one to sense it, while the sillage is somewhat average/good for the first couple hours it vanishes pretty quickly and by the end of the day you will not feel it anymore.

Whether you spray it in your clothes or in your neck it wears out too fast for such a good fragrance, this is what have always bothered me but because i really like the fragrance i kept using it to this day.

It has this jovial scent, more suited for younger adults and from my personal experience it is more noted by males than females, but regardless of that i use it because i like it and not to attract or impress other people specially females.

I have now moved on to other perfume which i like better but Lui will be part of my whole 20s and which i don't regret a bit.

Fruity, Timeless, Summery Gentleman
Here finally is my 1st perfume review :-)

I was faced with the choice for my 1st big online perfume order, Code or Lui by Armani... I chose the 90s model and I don't regret it one bit!

At first, it smells a bit artificial, but shortly after, you immediately fall in love with the fruity, soft notes. A light perfume, perfectly suited for spring & summer, whose sillage you definitely cannot rate as bad!
The wood/spice blend in the later hours is extremely nice & adds to the elegance of the scent. Women also respond very well to this. Longevity for me is 6-8 hours, which is perfectly fine.
The bottle is also something different, but in its deodorant style, it might be a bit too inconspicuous in a larger fragrance collection. But I think every owner knows what they have in this little masterpiece. A summer all-purpose weapon for determined, stylish men, whose scent quality is convincing.

In times of One Million, Le Male & Kokorico, a true blessing and a good change :-)

When Armani Was Still Quite Good - A Round Floral-Woody Thing
It has been 16 years since "he" first appeared and yet, after "Eau pour homme" (1984), my personal favorite from the designer, and the over-the-top fruity exotic monster "Acqua di Gio" (1996), it represents only the third men's fragrance from the Italian.

Compared to its loud disco predecessor, which operates at high RPMs, Armani takes it quite easy with "Emporio" - a kind of inner reflection takes place. One does not need to attract the ladies from ten meters away in front of every club - no, even with relaxed understatement, one can achieve something.

"Emporio" starts spicy and subtly fruity - the fresh apple and mandarin aspects find worthy counterparts in sage and cardamom, which provide some groundedness and calm, taking away the fruit's hyperactivity.

The fragrance exudes a certain nonchalance, quite typical for a late 90s scent. The loud macho 80s are long gone, and things are a bit more refined, even metrosexual - fortunately, the disgusting late 00s with their carnival-barker sugary glue bombs are still far off.

"Emporio" comes across very cleanly, the spiciness remains in a soft, friendly mid-range. The floral aspects of the heart phase, slightly herb-sweet violet and dotted rose, find their suitable antagonist in a somewhat drier nutmeg.

The base then shifts the fragrance towards softly polished woods, lightly sweetened by tonka bean, lingering in a masculine vein with carefully dosed musk.

Longevity is good, universal suitability, especially for the office, is fully guaranteed. One of the truly better Armanis.

For me, THE men's fragrance
This scent was the first male perfume I ever perceived.
When I met my fiancé, I was 17 and he was 24.
I knew he would be moving back to his home in Rhineland-Palatinate in a year, while I lived in Bavaria. We spent a wonderful year in Bavaria full of passion, fun, and security. The scent was always there. It had always been his signature scent.
Then he eventually moved away. Now we were separated by 320 km. I had just gotten my driver's license and got a part-time job, where I could use a delivery van from my hometown to pick up chemical samples in his hometown. I always combined this with visits to him.
Often it took a month before we saw each other again. What remained for me in the meantime was only this scent. How many times did I sit on my bed with an empty bottle of this fragrance and think of him? Or did I have a worn T-shirt with me that smelled of Armani, thinking of him? Wishing he were here.
We maintained this long-distance relationship for 5 years. When I finally finished my studies, I moved in with him. After 5 years of hard struggle, many doubts on the part of his parents, and all other adversities. Now I am almost 25, have fully settled into our new shared home, and am still happy with him. Now we are in the "cursed seventh year" and have been living together for a year. Did I fall in love too young? I never doubted that. Two such loyal souls as we belong together.
He still wears the scent. Although not as often anymore. For me, Armani always reminds me of that heavy, troubled time we went through. Nevertheless, I still love it when he wears it.
To get back to the facts: I can say little about ingredients, scent progression, etc., as for me this fragrance consists too much of emotion. Make your own judgment and try it. For me, it is THE men's fragrance, but solely because my darling wears it.

Weak little scent in an utterly hideous bottle
Here I find myself asking again and again after repeated testing... How long does it even last? Why is it completely unnoticeable - even after spraying it 20 times?

For me, this is THE epitome of a total flop! Unfortunately, I can't really perceive any of the supposed ingredients. A faint breeze, if at all.
What is important to me and absolutely decisive is always the appearance of the bottle. But even here I must say that I have never seen anything uglier. It really doesn't stand out anywhere, and on top of that, there's this ridiculous rubber button for spraying. Armani could have really done without this unnecessary packaging and at least launched a chic glass bottle. An utterly hideous short stick.... How else can you describe this thing?

Sillage is zero! Longevity at best 20 minutes.

It's frustrating that dream scents from the 90s like Kiton Napoli or "What about Adam" by JOOP have simply vanished. However, this supposed fragrance is still around...

Quite an enjoyable fresh scent. Sadly it is easily mistaken for a body spray deodorant. Very little projection, sillage and staying power.

Expensive body spray with a beautiful scent. Same packaging, similar durability. Body spray is cheaper, though.

"Lui" reminds me of a wealthy or at least well-to-do man in the late 90's, who is subtle in showing it. I love it.

Classic men's fragrance with a citrusy start, subtle spices, soft wood + clean musk in the dry down. Fresh, crisp, well-groomed. Always fits.

A great scent that unfortunately has as much longevity as the air escaping from a whoopee cushion. Where's the Intense version?!

Everything is actually perfect here - wood, citrus, spice, moderate sweetness - still suitable for summer, if it weren't so uncharmingly reformulated.

After 3 bottles, I can say in 3 words - it's a very versatile, subtle, and fresh scent. Great for everyday and office use.

The scent of Lui is really nice, but the longevity of max. 1/2 hour and the sillage of 50 cm despite 6 sprays is outrageous!!
