Inky, Plummy, Incense Perfume
Purple seems like the perfect color for the image of Andy Warhol on the bottle of Bond no 9 ANDY WARHOL, because it contains a very inky, plummy, incense perfume. Oddly enough, there is also a very marked peach note, which hovers over the top of the composition and can be teased out by my nose (if I concentrate..) from the more intense purple amalgam which dominates the scent.

The inkiness reminds me a bit of the opening of Lalique ENCRE NOIRE, but the dark plum and peach really make this unique. There is a strong, deep, cooked fruitiness to this composition, without its being very sweet. With such *great* longevity and pretty big sillage, this latest entry in the Bond line up seems to me like a straight-up perfume, not a cologne. I don't think that it is more feminine than masculine, but it definitely has a depth and heft which are more characteristic of women's fragrances than men's.

Apply sparingly for full enjoyment. (-;

Mr. Warhol, this Oud-Plum!
Bond No. 9 is surrounded by rumors and opinions full of criticism regarding quality and price, similar to Creed. And I can understand this more here than with Creed. Too many fragrances, too many quick shots, often little new or inspiring, and a price that is set more than €100 too high. In contrast, there is the ultra-cool and luxurious design, the fragrance materials of mostly high quality, a few masterpieces like Chinatown or New Harlem, and of course my still quite manageable experience with this stylish niche house.

After seeing the fragrance positively featured in YouTube reviews several times, I tested it today in the wonderful perfumery Vollmar in Bonn. My first time there, a spontaneous decision, as the highways towards Wuppertal were closed, I simply drove in the other direction to test and wait until the highways were clearer again. Not regretted one bit (except for the parking ticket) - an impressive perfumery!

Andy Warhol immediately reminded me of something; I first thought I had tested it before. Because this Oud-fruit was extremely familiar to me. Then I realized: Laliques LHommage dHomme smells extremely similar.

Oud is recognizable, but very classy, fruity, and bright-dry. The plum adds an extra kick, and Mr. Warhol would surely have enjoyed this fragrance. Furthermore, I perceive rose, vanilla, and incense. It also somewhat reminds me of Wonderwood. Very styled, sexy, romantic, and hip. Fortunately, the Oud trend is fading, but I am glad about such pleasant drops. A perfect Valentine's Day fragrance, which is, however, limited and simply too expensive.

Longevity is very good at 10 hours, sillage strong and poppy like the master's famous paintings, and the bottle is a cool piece. Even if there are prettier designs^^

Overall, a great Oud-plum, perhaps a bit too dark and gray if one only knows Warhol's art. But perhaps more fitting to the person himself...

Surrounded by Screaming Girls...
Andy Warhol strongly resembles fruity candy waters that are more commonly worn by girls around 14 or 15 years old. Very sweet and artificial, there is no scent progression, except that after a while a minimal smoky-bitter note joins in, which might be intended to give it some unisex appeal.

Waterbubble's comment fits here perfectly, just like Ergoproxy's. If you want to evoke certain associations (gum, sweet, girly, etc.), then this could be a great fragrance, although you can surely find something similar for much cheaper. However, it does not live up to the price or the marketing. It is a simple, synthetic, and rather cheap-smelling scent, that’s my impression. It feels as if I am surrounded by screaming girls, all chewing gum, using tons of hairspray, and wearing those sweet-artificial candy/gum fruit scents.

neon new york funkyness girly
I am a cameraman and we are shooting a new Madonna video. We have 1983 and the young generation is in a good mood. Madonna and her video girls play funky and cheeky with the camera. I am wearing a musk perfume and Madonna a girly rose perfume.
Cheekily, she blows a bubble with her sweet plum gum and lets it pop. While doing so, she winks playfully at the camera. One of her best friends has a peppermint gum in her mouth. However, she is standing a bit further away.
I say: "Everyone make a kiss hand for the camera and blow the kiss in my direction!"
The different scents mix together and capture the cheeky girly vibe with the funkiness of New York's uptown.
The perfume calls out: Hey Boy, come and dance with me!
It's all rather girly - partly in neon colors - but also with casual light blue denim jackets.
But then something of oud shines through and vanilla, and it becomes more complex and of higher quality than the drugstore standard. The peppermint makes it fresher but sometimes even bothers me.
I can't smell incense and patchouli.
Overall, a perfume that fascinates and inspires. Suitable for men only if they don't necessarily want to smell conservatively masculine.

A Sweet Little Fruit
I'm not very familiar with the world of fragrances yet, but shortly after I signed up here, I ordered this scent because the fragrance pyramid really piqued my curiosity.

Plum in a fragrance, I had never heard of that before. And Oud was also quite unknown to me until then. I was familiar with patchouli and musk and knew that I liked them quite a bit, so it was clear that I needed a decant of this fragrance!

I've worn it several times during the day now, and I can only say, Wow, this scent is just great! When I wear it, I feel like a sweet, noble little fruit.

I've also received some compliments on the fragrance. I've worn it at work too, but the only downside is that I spend most of the time focusing more on the scent than on my work ;)

For cold days, the fragrance is simply superb; I don't know how it performs on warmer days, but I think this is more of a fall/winter scent.

I'm glad to have it!

And here’s a twist: At first, it was more like "yeah, not so...", a bit too sweet, and later it was "aha, there's more - yeah..."

After a sample was nearing its end, I had to get a bottle. Too bad it's no longer available. Oud and plum - fantastic!
