Lafayette must be dull
Erm…
I wanted to sample this as…and I’m kinda embarrassed to say…I had seen a lot of rappers, actors and athletes talk about it.
Normally, ordinarily and as a quantifier that’s a RED FLAG for me, especially if (no offence) they’re American or specifically English Footballers.
But there was every chance that I would like it. Every chance.
I don’t hate it, but I also don’t like it.
I have just now have a very clear confirmation that my assumptions on the clutch of people mentioned above; are not to be trusted. Actually maybe their stylists shouldn’t be trusted.
Whatever.
This is not a particularly exceptional fragrance; it’s ok. I know I wouldn’t buy this for the RRP I don’t think a decent discount would tempt me. The price itself is not the thing that puts me off. I’m just not moved or stirred towards buying a fragrance like this.
This is a very nice scent but also very generic. It’s like a really good body spray. Like if Lynx/Axe created a pricier version of their own products. The quality is good but the problem I have with it is it just sticks around- I know that’s an odd thing to say, but it just doesn’t do anything it’s very annoyingly linear and unremarkable for what it it’s presenting itself to be.
It’s clean fresh and not as interesting as the hype around it demands. The usual suspects are here Apple, Bergamot, Tonka and Ambroxan - all of the typical patrons aseptic blandness. They don’t present in any way other than loud and clear. Like Coldplay in concert you know what you’re going to get, even if you get a surprise cameo from that bloke off the tv - not a surprise. Like a Hallmark Christmas movie. If you want to pay for the fact that you can drop it into conversation that you own it - fair enough. If on the other hand you just want to smell ‘very nice’ then you are spoilt for choice out there as there’s loads that smell like this.
