Hello and Good-Bye, it was nice to meet you!
For Brooklyn, the published pyramid is quite interesting: Cypress, Cedar and Juniper can match together into a great combination. It sort of takes the bull by the horns, but this style cannot be found very often: Gucci Rush for Men is history, Christian Lacroixs' Tumulte pour Homme also perished, and among the current perfumes only “If” by the small Australian brand Bud Perfumes can maybe regarded as a member of this style, although its not quite fitting by the notes..

So, Brooklyn should get our interest, just for covering a small niche.

Nevertheless, this combination is being handled rather discreet compared to the other fragrances mentioned here: It's not such a roughneck as Tumulte pour Homme, but is does not have as much character as the legendary Rush for men either. The juniper- and cardamom spiciness is tamed by an indefinite floral note. They call it “geranium leaves” - whatever this may be. Geranium, the inexpensive replacement for rose oils may play a role in that. It is surely nice, but nothing to write home about.

Behind all this, there is a bitter, woody base note – vague enough to be also labelled “leathery”. Here, the perfumer is leering at that puristic woodiness that we currently find in so many mid-priced perfumes, and not necessarily the bad ones: Wonderwood, Bang, Michalski pour Homme, the DSquared fragrances and many more. Although the Brooklyn base note is nothing one would find everywhere, you need a sensitive nose to appreciate it. It is not scratchy or rough, but this is the least you can expect by an expensive perfume.

The price is the snag to it. 230 € is by far too much money for a decent fragrance that is just on the level of well done 70-€-perfumes. At Bond No. 9, they are not looking for customers, they just want to con money out of their victims. Thanks, no!

Smoke from NY
This one is yours if you like smoky perfumes
It starts very gentle and very bond stile but later the smoke hits in and it starts to smell exactly like kilians smoke for the soul. Very smoky. and i dont know about but every smoky scent i know thay disappear fast, like 30/40 minutes and i dont smell it any more. This one the same.
So conclusion: i like it, not bad at all, but the longevity is not a positive thing.

Little Coward
He had his chance. More than one. More than many others.

Saks Fifth Avenue in a chic open-air mall. And (almost) only there do they sell it outside of New York City, artificial scarcity 2.0, even in the USA. Behind the counter with the colorful bottles stands a lady somewhere between thirty and sixty, really hard to say, she is so heavily made up that it almost looks candied. No less radiant is her smile as she enthusiastically promotes her goods - the terrible, carnival-colored star-shaped bottles - and somewhat exaggeratedly, she leans in and conspiratorially whispers to me: 'Sir, you know this is one of the most exclusive perfume series you will ever find?' Yes, I get it, now hand over the bottle.

Brooklyn, oh, Brooklyn - among all your colorful brothers and sisters, you have always been my favorite and most likeable. Probably because of the graffiti on the bottle, which I still don't really like, but at least the design appears somewhat 'organic' to me. And the scent - yes, the opening is not bad at all. There is something green, something gently scratchy, and a brittle sweetness that I like all together and also in their interplay - like ivy growing up the sun-drenched wall of a brownstone house - somewhere in the district that gives New York City its name. There is warmth and also freshness at the same time - without floral notes and without - yes, without basically everything else. Brooklyn lacks any echo, any depth, any edge - and in a nearly disturbing way, any longevity. I really sprayed generously on my bare forearms - and already at the shoes (less than 25 meters away in a straight line) it is gone, truly and absolutely gone. Incredible.

Now one might assume that Americans are not fans of highly complex, long-lasting scents, but that is simply not true. There are truly wonderful, exciting, and deeply rich fragrances of American origin! The short longevity (and sillage, and in my subjective assessment, also quality) of Bond No. 9's Brooklyn is even more remarkable in this context.

Conclusion: one with good potential, who does absolutely nothing with it, who dares nothing at all. I will undoubtedly continue to sniff at one of the strange star bottles here and there. With Brooklyn, I fear, I am done.

Indifferent!
I wonder if my expectations of this brand are exaggerated? Am I perhaps already negatively influenced?

No, I don't think so! I also didn't read any comments before this test. Result of the fragrance test: Indifference in the form of a perfume.
Nothing, absolutely nothing surprised, thrilled, or amazed me; I could go on like this forever.

The fresh-spicy top note gently transitions into a green-spicy heart and ends in a woody-sweet drydown of medium intensity and longevity typical of a men's fragrance. Mass market at its best!

The feeling of recognizing the scent from another brand sets in as soon as you spray it and persists throughout the entire fragrance journey. After about 3 hours, the magic had already faded away. Nothing left.

The attribute "NICE" is, in my opinion, appropriate for this fragrance. And nice doesn't always have to be the little sister of crap! Indifferent, after all.
No hard feelings!

Number two from my sample pack is listed here as a unisex fragrance. I can't quite understand that, as I don't know any woman who wants to smell like her father, unless it involves an olfactory Oedipus complex.

The opening of the fragrance starts with quite a lot that I would describe as spicy leather. The interplay of cardamom, juniper, woods, and leather is clearly noticeable from the beginning, with a little pinch of sharpness from the grapefruit, which, however, evaporates in no time. The scent becomes softer over time; I find it pleasant and not piercing, but still far too masculine for me.

Not only is it too masculine. I still remember how my father used to sharpen his razor on a whetstone and then wipe it with a leather cloth. On the whetstone, he would always drip a couple of drops of Irish Moss, 4711, or Old Spice, and then he would perfume himself with Zino by Davidoff. All of that combined smelled very similar to this fragrance.

I think this scent is perfect for men aged 40+, who want to smell masculine and well-groomed. Like my predecessor, I also believe that there are similar fragrances available for much less money.

Fragrances from Bond are also, to put it mildly, a rip-off for me. I haven't come across one that stands out due to a special fragrance creation; only the brightly painted bottles catch the eye (though that doesn't necessarily have to be a positive thing). Since perfume is still something for the nose and not for the eye for me, I probably won't want to own a Bond fragrance anytime soon.

A modern take on a classic woody fragrance. It blends fresh citrus with warm spices and finishes with a leathery base. A bold, urban scent

Super clean, clear scent, absolutely unisex. I can perceive everything well except for the rose geranium. I don't understand the bad reviews.

The Bonds all have something scratchy in them that I don't like on paper, but it develops well on my skin. Underrated.
