A Bit Old-Fashioned
With the scents from Bond No 9, I actually associate more sweet-feminine fragrances. These are the most commonly represented in the product range and all are great in their own way.
Great Jones is different.
From the outset, the scent develops strongly in a mossy-green direction.
The top note is skipped right away.
The notes of oak moss and vetiver are very, very prominent here. Upon very careful sniffing, cardamom can also be detected. Somehow, the whole thing comes across as a bit musty-moldy, definitely not fresh.
This scent could easily pass for a Guerlain; I have noticed a certain similarity to Heritage, but Great Jones is clearer and less complex.
How can one evaluate it...? It is very suitable for lovers of mossy-woody fragrances.
Since I received it as a gift, I couldn't test it beforehand.
No, I really wouldn't have bought it. Too harsh, too green, fitting the color of the liquid.
The longer I smell it, the more dreadful the scent becomes. Here, I would even appreciate a bit of variety with bergamot and orange, but both completely fail.
So far, one of the most disappointing Bond scents. Suitable for the 60+ generation with a hat and cane. At least I only have the 50ml.
EDIT: After a while, a musk-vetiver mix remains. Actually not bad, it goes in the direction of vetiver from Guerlain, without its citrus freshness. Still, the scent doesn't really convince me.
