Intelligent, Spicy Woody Chypre with Signature Potential

Normally, I tell my friend about old-school niche Chypre fragrances, “Smells like dead grandma!” Even though it triggers intense associations for me and brings to mind grandma's makeup table and the scent of the 70s, I’m often not a big fan. Especially since these fragrances always evoke the same association.

With "Moss Cologne | Bortnikoff," however, it’s definitely different. It was love at first spray. Bortnikoff has delivered a masterpiece that is unfortunately underrated.

About the scent:
There isn’t as much citrus as one might expect based on the listed notes, and that’s a good thing. A slightly bitter grapefruit note beautifully opens the fragrance and kicks off a wonderfully beautiful progression.

Initially, jasmine is very present in the development. However, it is deliberately and intelligently taken away from the floral meadow and wonderfully surrounded by spicy and green notes. Nutmeg and oakmoss perfectly complement the fragrance profile.

And then this wonderfully warm, soft, and long-lasting base emerges, which makes the scent very modern and special. A worthy signature!

Longevity and sillage are absolutely top-notch for me. The scent lasts about 6-7 hours on me and is very present in the immediate vicinity. Great bottle, fair price.

I can only recommend it to anyone looking to dip their toes into the world of Chypre. An incredibly wonderful fragrance!
