"Light of the earth" or something like that
There are many ways to translate Hikaru Daichi. "Light of great wisdom", "splendor of the vast land", etc. When you spray Hikaru Daichi for the first time, each of these translations makes sense.
First things first. In my opinion, this masterpiece deserves more attention and now that spring is approaching and the sun is gaining strength again, it is the perfect companion for any occasion. This is where niche and signature come together and the great thing about it is that it is somehow new, different, fresh and special.
I have tested a few Di Ser fragrances in the meantime, but I like this one the best by far. Certainly not a bargain at over 5 EUR per ml. But really top quality.
Sillage and longevity are okay, but of course most people want more power in this price range. That's quite enough for me.
A few thoughts on the fragrance:
My mind conjures up the image of a trip to Japan, a moment of silence in the middle of sun-warmed forests. The fragrance starts off citrusy and peppery with the tangy freshness of lime, which has a very mystical effect thanks to the resinous notes of forest and pine. It's like taking a deep breath on a morning walk in the woods. The drydown is wonderfully balsamic and woody with a very nice depth. For me, it is also somehow therapeutic and, above all, very natural.
I can really recommend everyone to try this fragrance if they appreciate quality and the art of perfumery and are not on the hunt for beast fashion fragrances.
Hikaru Daichi has been on the market for a while, but for me it is my personal discovery of the year.

35 degrees, high humidity, New York - now something fresh!
It was another hot week. 35 degrees, hot and humid, New York was buzzing! 9 days of business travel over again. When I thought about which fragrance would get me through the day this morning, I didn't have to think for long.
Wakening Woods - the ultimate refreshment on super hot days. And completely uncomplicated, versatile, fresh, tangy and spicy. It even makes me feel well perfumed at a business meeting.
The fragrance doesn't last forever, but you have to be honest and say that the price/performance ratio here is really out of this world. You can even reapply several times a day without it hurting your wallet.
I think Geta Schön has created a masterpiece in an absolute cheapie price range that should not be missing from any collection. The citrusy freshness is a super pleasant companion for the green, woody notes. Coriander and pink pepper are only subtly surrounded by flowers and then picked up by very beautiful forest notes.
Longevity and sillage are typical for this type of fragrance, but quite good. You really shouldn't forget the price. And although I am currently shrinking my collection to 20 fragrances - almost exclusively niche - Wakening Woods has a right of abode for life!

Somewhere between "One Moment in Time" and today ...
After a long time, a fragrance has once again managed to motivate me to write a review.
I'm actually a big fan of Parfums de Nicolaï and
New York Intense is one of my absolute favorite fragrances. Of course, this also means that I'm not only always curious about the creations released by this still privately run fragrance house, but also that I may be somewhat subjective in my assessment. But hey, fragrances are art. Art serves emotions and how can you remain completely objective.
Good mood and joy in life! I think that's really what this fragrance instantly triggers in my head. Not that there are no similar fragrances - we're certainly not talking about innovation here - more about a very beautiful fragrance that simply makes you want to spend the day. If the sun is shining, it's the weekend and maybe you have something nice planned for the day, then nothing can stop you
It's almost a shame that it's limited.
About the fragrance:
Victoire by Parfums de Nicolaï really surprised me in a positive way. For me, it's a sparkling, fresh fragrance with a drydown that is more floral and significantly softer, which will be particularly effective on hot summer days. Yuzu, jasmine and green tea are in the foreground and give the perfume a refreshing, invigorating note. In the drydown, the fragrance turns a little more woody and slightly fruity, but without any sweetness, which I personally really like. The performance is okay for a freshie, but could certainly be better and the price/performance ratio is really mega.
In my opinion, Victoire is very different from the very popular Nicolai fragrances such as
New York Intense or
Patchouli Intense Eau de Parfum, as I find it much more rounded and harmonious, which makes it particularly exciting. The inspiration from the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris is not so noticeable for me personally - the fragrance exudes a dynamic, energetic atmosphere, yes! But, as already mentioned in some of the statements here, it is an absolute good mood fragrance that celebrates life. Perhaps this is even a much clearer reference to the spirit of Olympia than the actual intention. All in all, a very successful summer fragrance that brings joy and freshness to life. An absolute recommendation to buy!

Oh how beautiful Panama is
"Panama smells like bananas from top to bottom."
You're probably thinking I wasn't sniffing Siberian Musk III, but glue. But if Siberia smells like SBM III, "from top to bottom", then book me a ticket fast!
Oh how beautiful Siberia sounds in my head. SBM III takes me on a journey and never lets me go. Mysterious, wild, but also so infinitely wide and free. An incomparable network of fragrances that captivate me and do not take me to a familiar place or memory, on the contrary, they show me something new.
ALD and Russian Adam have delivered a masterpiece here and that's where the shortage starts to hurt. This clearly proves that the perfumer's craft is a unique art.
About the fragrance:
What excites me most about this fragrance is the way in which the top notes, heart and base are woven together in such an incomparable way that I am a little overwhelmed at first. Everything flows into me and creates images of wild landscapes.
In the opening, SBM III takes you into a beautiful pine forest, but then there is also a certain fresh citricism that conjures up lights in the forest. This is how the journey begins.
Very quickly, a wonderful, spicy animalic flows through my head and magically combines with woods, light citrus and lays me down on a soft bed of amber and patchouli. Earthy, mossy, warm, soft.
I am completely immersed and come to rest, feeling strong and grounded.
And then I'm curious to see how the journey continues. Let's wait and see! Boarding completed. All doors in flight!

Intelligent, spicy, woody chypre with signature potential
I usually say to my boyfriend "Smells like dead granny!" when I smell oldschool, niche chypre fragrances Even if it triggers strong associations for me and I bring grandma's dressing table and the smell of the 70s back to my mind's eye/nose, I'm often not a big fan. Especially because these fragrances always trigger exactly the same associations.
But it's definitely different with
Moss Cologne. It was love at first spray. Bortnikoff has delivered a masterpiece, which is unfortunately undervalued.
About the fragrance:
There really isn't as much Zitrik Wiesmann as you would expect based on the fragrance notes given. And that's a good thing. A slightly tart grapefruit note opens the fragrance very nicely and kicks off a fantastically beautiful progression.
Jasmine is initially very present in the fragrance. However, it is deliberately and intelligently taken away from the flowery meadow and surrounded by wonderfully spicy and green notes. Nutmeg and oakmoss complement the fragrance perfectly.
And then this wonderfully warm, soft and long-lasting base emerges, which makes the fragrance very modern and special. A worthy signature!
Longevity and sillage are absolutely top for me. The fragrance lasts a good 6-7 hours on me and is very present in my immediate surroundings. Great bottle, fair price.
I can only recommend it to anyone who wants to try out the world of chypre. An incredibly great fragrance!
