A pretty nice, underrated 80's powerhouse.
If smells bring images into my head, this Santos Concentree brought me the idea of Al Pacino in Scarface. This cologne starts pretty bright with herbs and even a hot pepper note, which i have understood is a combo of eugenol and aldehydes. Then the drydown comes with sandalwood and patchouli, the projection drops when the drydown is reached and when it is sprayed it is a monster. Overall a nice, elegant cologne with touches of warm spicy. (In a pretty particular way, it is not sweet, choking heavy or anything like that) An amazing scent and the performance is good as well, i recall some 8 hours.

Original SANTOS Concentrée vs. Eau de Toilette vs. ReFo
I guess the two negative statements about the Concentrée describe a ReFo!?
I have an old version. It's not hard to distinguish by the bottle.
Transparent = old version, opaque = new, reformulated version.

The original looks like the one depicted in the photos below.
Noble brown-gold transparent bottle framed by an anthracite-gold casing.
Only these versions are in the old original scent composition and may still be available for a lot of money (from €100) on eBay.
All other current versions in the anthracite opaque bottle are reformulations and can be referred to as a new perfume creation that has nothing to do with the first version.

The Concentrée is even finer than the EdT. While the EdT hits hard at first and scares off many scent-sensitive people, the Concentrée is delicate and more reserved from the start and develops this lovely, effervescent scent early in the heart note, which the EdT only releases at the end, and it lasts all day and is even still there the next morning.
Best SANTOS ever, the Eau de Toilette can't compete. However, those who prefer a more animalistic scent, like KOUROS, should opt for the EdT, but exclusively the old, very, very rare version No. 1.

I would also like to point out that the above image of the bottle for Santos (Eau de Toilette Concentrée) Cartier 1981 is the new version and actually does not belong there. This image next to the first release year 1981 will surely cause many confusions, and therefore it is necessary to explicitly indicate in the statements and comments which version is actually being described, here and also, for example, with KOUROS and Montana d'Homme.

Addition:
If you particularly like this lovely effervescent heart note from the Concentrée, I highly recommend Aramis' TUSCANY per Uomo and/or CARE for Men by Margret Astor.

Furthermore, there needs to be a correction/update of the bottle image!
As the current questions from April 28, 2019, again demonstrate, there are still irritations regarding the correct version. Other manufacturers, e.g., Guerlain, have two images, one of the first edition and one of the new edition with the corresponding comments. That way, everyone knows which version is meant.
Here with SANTOS and KOUROS, there are constantly these misunderstandings.
But this is an admin task, and I urgently request assistance to remedy this!

This perfume is so well rounded. I can see it shining for the night-out. A real gentleman’s scent, woody spicy real class in a bottle.

A mix of popular in 80s notes made honest but without panache. Brown soup seasoned with nutmeg. Good quality but terribly boring

Here especially, the image does not match the date. Annoying, because it makes a significant difference! Admin. Work!

The edges and corners of the old Santos have been smoothed out, and now it's well-behaved and boring. My wife didn't recognize it. Just nice now.

Found it spontaneously. Instantly thought of "vintage." Masculine and spicy.
