Escape to the front - again and again!

For me, Evasion is one of those fragrances for which I would pay fifty times the price. A pure evergreen, of which at least one spare bottle must be in the cupboard. But our start together was rather unspectacular. I thought he was quite nice at first, but he didn't knock my socks off. At some point I walked past our coat hook in the hallway, where a scarf was hanging that I had generously sprayed the day before, and thought Wow! What smells so good in here?
That's how love was born on the second nose.
The fragrance contains jasmine, hyacinth, honeysuckle and lily of the valley, delicately bedded on a base in which I suspect amber, sandalwood, iris, vanilla and musk. It is sweet, but absolutely unsweet, which is certainly due to the "year of manufacture" 1970, in which rather tart chypres set the tone. Evasion even bears a strong resemblance to a classic of this vintage: Rive Gauche by Yves Saint Laurent. I wanted to love this one for a long time, but somehow it has a metallic note that gets on my nerves. Evasion exudes the same spirit of the times as Rive Gauche, but it's soft-blooded and much more feminine.
I doubt that the production has actually been stopped; at the moment this great fragrance is available for a ridiculous price from many suppliers. Nevertheless, I have put a few bottles aside as a precaution....
