Escape to the front - again and again!
For me, Evasion is one of those fragrances for which I would pay fifty times the price. A pure evergreen, of which at least one spare bottle must be in the cupboard. But our start together was rather unspectacular. I thought he was quite nice at first, but he didn't knock my socks off. At some point I walked past our coat hook in the hallway, where a scarf was hanging that I had generously sprayed the day before, and thought Wow! What smells so good in here?
That's how love was born on the second nose.
The fragrance contains jasmine, hyacinth, honeysuckle and lily of the valley, delicately bedded on a base in which I suspect amber, sandalwood, iris, vanilla and musk. It is sweet, but absolutely unsweet, which is certainly due to the "year of manufacture" 1970, in which rather tart chypres set the tone. Evasion even bears a strong resemblance to a classic of this vintage: Rive Gauche by Yves Saint Laurent. I wanted to love this one for a long time, but somehow it has a metallic note that gets on my nerves. Evasion exudes the same spirit of the times as Rive Gauche, but it's soft-blooded and much more feminine.
I doubt that the production has actually been stopped; at the moment this great fragrance is available for a ridiculous price from many suppliers. Nevertheless, I have put a few bottles aside as a precaution....

Incense burner in raspberry bushes
Actually a not so bad twin to the now discontinued eau de parfum by John Galliano. I smell more raspberries than peaches and lots of incense, which is not listed here as a fragrance note. Caution: In the meantime, other versions of Joanita are available in the Kik stores. Name and bottle shape are the same, but the fragrance is completely different. If you're looking for the Galliano replacement, make sure you catch the packaging with the Venetian carnival mask or the painted woman's face (see photo). I was able to get it without any problems via an online supplier.

In memoriam John Galliano
I've walked past it umpteen times, although I love the original Vanderbilt and the green version is also quite nice. Now there was the dark pink swan on special offer, and I couldn't resist.
After a while of trial and error, I also came up with what he reminds me of:
Minuit à New York bears a strong resemblance to the no longer produced fragrance by John Galliano, which is now offered at exorbitant prices. A glance at the list of ingredients shows that I can't be completely wrong: Peony, violet, cedar. The swan is not quite as fruity, and it lacks the incense of the Galliano fragrance. But apart from that, the two could be brothers and sisters with two eggs. Minuit à New York is the friendly, uncomplicated of the two sisters.
And I'm thinking about getting another bottle to stock up on.
