Leathery Saffron and Sticky Date Infused Rose

At first blast this is an absolute pungent powerhouse of rich ingredients. The Pink Pepper is prominent with the leathery Saffron and Cedar. The gorgeous Bulgarian Rose anchors everything and is quite jammy sweet. As it settles and dries that's when everything melds so smoothly together. And the deep, sticky and almost vanillic Date note shines through with the Rose and heavy musks. Making it predominately hazy , creamy and floral with subtle woods, leather and spice. High amounts of naturals for sure

smoky roses

This noble fragrance starts off with a generous portion of smoke, reminiscent of many Serge Lutens scents... a mysterious tonka bean smoke.
In the background, I notice a sweetness, likely from dates...
Among the spices, I particularly detect clove... the spices are rather dry, dark, and perhaps a bit stale - but they fit the scent very well.
Candied rose petals are added, creating a very heavy, "ripe," and dark red rose.
Some Jo Malone Intense Colognes resemble this Bvlgari scent.
When I think of occasions to wear this fragrance, a lacquer-and-leather ball comes to mind (dress code lacquer and leather, location an old castle...) or an elegant evening or celebration, award ceremony, or gala... here, rather suited for a mature lady.
A mystical-noble-smoky-spicy oriental, which has the only drawback for me that it doesn't last very long.
