GOLDEN TWILIGHT
Euphoria Amber Gold is a beautiful fragrance that, unfortunately, has been discontinued. It stands out as one of the finest offerings from Calvin Klein.

This scent opens with a subtle whisper of fruit and florals. Plum, mandarin orange, and rose... but they quickly fade into the background. The heart reveals soft notes of honey, orange blossom, and orris (iris root), adding a delicate sweetness and a slightly powdery character.

What truly defines this fragrance is its deep, resinous base: amber, sandalwood, vanilla, and labdanum. The honey note is dark and rich, never overly syrupy or sweet. The amber is dominant — warm, golden, and thick — wrapped in a slightly smoky, not-too-sweet vanilla, and the leathery, balsamic richness of labdanum. The amber has an almost cola-like undertone. It’s slightly spicy, adding depth and contrast to the sweetness.

This is a gorgeous, "dark" scent. Perfect for cool evenings, it wears like molten gold on the skin.

A Gem from Calvin Klein
After the beautiful and enthusiastic comment from user Profuma, I expected a mix of Obsession and Venice. Two fragrances that I love very much.

Profuma's description was indeed very euphoric and promptly led me to make a blind purchase. Her description is also somewhat accurate, as Euphoria Amber Gold is a balanced, rounded, soft, and delicate oriental fragrance. It doesn't smell exactly like Obsession or Venice, but it is definitely a close relative of both, though not a thoughtless copy.

I have loved Obsession and Venice for ages. Opium and also Obelisk. Christmas spices enchant my senses and completely twist my head.

Euphoria Amber Gold is, to my nose, a very delicate oriental and certainly very suitable for women who (still) do not dare to try extremely strong spicy-oriental fragrances or only like very subtle and quiet orientals. Those who know and love the vintage versions of Opium and Obsession (like I do) might wish for Amber Gold to be a bit stronger and the sillage more pronounced.

The top note makes a bit of noise, but then the fragrance quickly dims down to a subtle level and lasts very well on my skin for several hours. The base note is particularly beautifully vanilla-cinnamon-sensual with a hint of caramel. According to the pyramid, the composition contains Gelée Royale, but fortunately, the sweetness of Euphoria Amber Gold is not sticky or honey-like, but very discreet.

My nose has been accustomed to spicy-oriental fragrance notes for a lifetime, so I might not perceive them as strongly anymore. Perhaps other users find Euphoria Amber Gold to be a strong fragrance. I wouldn't want to be too definitive as the measure of all things. In any case, it is a harmonious, beautiful oriental whose pleasing composition I really like.

I also do not detect the plum. More sensitive noses that do not like plums as much as I do might notice it. I consider this fragrance from Calvin Klein to be very successful and appealing. For my taste, the most beautiful Calvin Klein fragrance in years.

No nuance wants to dominate or disturb the fragrance progression. Everything is extremely skillfully and harmoniously coordinated. This fragrance is successful, pleasant, and cozy. Perfect for late summer and the upcoming winter months. But also good to wear in high temperatures. The bottle is also very attractive: the warm, bronze color fits excellently with the fragrance, and the bottle design is very artistic. A beautiful piece in any perfume collection.

Obsession in Venice
One spray and my thoughts run wild. Head and nose cinema are running at full speed. In my brain, brownish fragments with one matte and one bronze-glossy side whirl around wildly, creating blinking-blinding flashes. Almost as dense as the "snow" that used to appear on television screens at the end of broadcasts. Accompanied by that exact monotonous noise. Today, bronze snow and shshsh...
It takes a moment before I can put into thoughts and words what is currently blowing my mind and simultaneously tuning my brain to the end of the broadcast.
So after the rather elaborate opening for the nose and brain, I can finally categorize my perceptions. The plum and a bit of ripe mandarin already open here with a strong amber punch, even though it should appear more in the course. Nevertheless, it is already part of the program here and sets the tone. Everything is loud but pleasantly gourmand, sweet but not too sweet. I do not perceive the rose as such, nor do I miss it. There are fragrances where roses fit better and do not get lost in other loud notes. Here, one could have confidently left it out. With the opening, the initially chaotic and searching thoughts come with a déjà-vu aspect. As the first fog slightly clears, I realize what EAG reminds me of so much. It is Calvin Klein Obsession and Yves Rocher Venice. As if these two fragrance giants in the perfume cosmos found each other and merged in love. That is exactly how it smells to me here, and the longer the subsequent molecules work, carrying orange blossoms and a hefty dose of vanilla with wood shavings, the clearer this impression becomes. That labdanum contributes a syrupy resinous coating only reinforces this. Moreover, both house some common and similar fragrance ingredients in their DNA. EAG is for me the better and richer Obsession and also revives a bit of Venice DNA. The result is a really dense, presumably thick-flowing and syrupy floral amber juice, whose sensual aromas tend to move more towards caramel than vanilla. One rather feels like having to spoon the fragrance laboriously to apply it, rather than pumping it through the tube. Somehow, my perception of time also shifts with this impression, and the minutes become longer. The scent is so indulgently gourmand and so massive that it simply cannot be faster than syrup or resin, or very thick but clear honey. One almost loses oneself in thoughts, the swirling scent curtain, and the image of a drop leisurely running down the bottle. Very slowly. Dark amber-colored. At its top, the small star-shaped reflection of an equally tiny golden light. Time almost stands still. The scent, however, remains. It even outlasts time here. In cooler seasons or simply on a fresher day, I think its entire spectrum truly shines. Sweet-toothed individuals will get their money's worth, fragrance nostalgics will find themselves transported to long-gone scent times, and newcomers can spend hours discovering and enjoying it.
For everyone who indulges in this fragrance experience, their own thoughts and feelings will be unleashed.
If I were to write a love story and were under the influence of Calvin Klein Euphoria Amber Gold, its title would surely be "Obsession in Venice"...

The honey is dark and rich, never overly sweet. Amber dominates—warm and thick—wrapped in smoky vanilla and balsamic, leathery labdanum.

The scent reminds me of an orchestra tuning up before a concert. Once the chaos settles, it develops into a warm, spicy...top.

For me, golden autumn in a bottle. Warm, sweet, spicy, balsamic. Best of the Euphoria line.

What an interesting scent. I can't quite say what I'm smelling here. Just that it smells good and soft. Like a gentle twilight.

Promising amber top note, then the scent drifts towards "Angel (Eau de Parfum) | Mugler." Relentlessly sweet!

Warm spice bomb with a citrus twist. Not a crowd-pleaser, but exceptionally unique!
Very good longevity & sillage, use with caution.
