Feminine Floral Fragrance
Belle de Niassa by Caron from 2023.
The nose behind it is Jean Jacques, the fragrance slightly reminiscent of Amarige (Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine, and blackcurrant) is distinctly floral, but not oriental or gourmand.
Lush and rich floral notes are created through Jasmine Absolute, Sambac note, and Ylang Ylang Absolute. To ensure the fragrance is not too heavy, the crisp starfruit is added, while watermelon provides the lightness, and the tart note of blackcurrant and green mango enhances this.
The bloom of the mahogany flower announces the start of the rainy season with its unpredictability. Initially invisible and ephemeral, it reveals its scent only to a few privileged ones who are lucky enough to discover it between October and November at the moment of its unfolding.
Clearly a feminine fragrance, inspired by the unassuming and enchanting mahogany flower in northern Mozambique. For those who are not yet familiar with Caron: The history of this traditional house dates back to 1904; at that time, the Russian-born chemist and perfumer Ernest Daltroff opened the first branch of the haute perfumery brand in Paris's Rue de la Paix. Previously, a haberdashery named Caron operated there. Ernest Daltroff decided to keep the catchy and melodious name. A pragmatic decision and at the same time the birth of a legend. The brand is known for its florals: Pois de Senteur, Fleurs de Rocailles, Lady Caron.... A bright, mood-lifting fragrance. Instead of ylang ylang essential oil,
Absolute has been used, an absolute differs from an essential oil by the extraction process and is significantly more expensive.
Suitable for dates or going out and for vibrant women. Androgynous people do not suit this fragrance: playful, feminine, and flirtatious.
A good floral, personally not worth the price to me.
