Feminine floral fragrance
Belle de Niassa by Caron from 2023.
The nose behind it is Jean Jacques, the fragrance is a little reminiscent of Amarige (ylang-ylang, jasmine and blackcurrant) is decidedly floral, but not oriental or gourmand.
Lush and rich florals are created by jasmine absolute, sambac note and ylang ylang absolute. To ensure that the fragrance is not too heavy, crisp star fruit is added, while watermelon lends lightness and the tart notes of blackcurrant and green mango reinforce this.
The unpredictability of the mahogany flower heralds the start of the rainy season. Initially invisible and ephemeral, it reveals its fragrance only to a privileged few who are lucky enough to discover it between October and November at the moment of its unfolding.
Clearly a feminine fragrance, inspired by the inconspicuous and beguiling mahogany blossom in northern Mozambique. For those not yet familiar with Caron, the history of the traditional house dates back to 1904, when the Russian-born chemist and perfumer Ernest Daltroff opened the first branch of the haute perfumery brand in the Rue de la Paix in Paris. A haberdashery called Caron had previously operated there. Ernest Daltroff decided without further ado to keep the name, which was as catchy as it was sonorous. A pragmatic decision and at the same time the birth of a legend. The brand is known for its florals: Pois de Senteur, Fleurs de Rocailles, Lady Caron.... A bright, mood-lifting fragrance. Instead of ylang ylang essential oil, they have used
Absolue was used, an Absolue differs from an essential oil in the extraction process and is much more expensive.
Suitable for dates or going out and for full-blooded women. Androgynous people do not suit this fragrance: playful, feminine and flirtatious.
A good floral, not worth the price for me personally.
