A Day in the life...
.... that's a Beatles title from the late '60s. Melody and lyrics grandiose, with a peculiar, thoughtful charisma and a good portion of English humour.
... A day in the live... Un Jour... a day like a scent.
No "loud thing"... no giant with hit potential, but subtly subliminal catchy.
Flowers and fruits are the one thing, citrus and green leaves are on top, peach, apricot... underneath, still on top, but under "right on top". Almost banal, but it makes you sit up and take notice.
There's something behind it or under it. I was right. The own impression decides, what is really remarkable.
The wide range of spring flowering plants, from intensely sweet, such as jasmine, to herb-green, especially the lily of the valley, to beguilingly powdery, such as lilac and hyacinth.
This is superficially pleasantly surprising to note.
But there should be something else there, next to it or below it. Deeper facts maybe? Substrates that escape the bright light may be covered..
Maybe.... no, right. But not as obvious as expected.
Woods and balm may play a role.... partly deep and round like sandalwood, partly rough, lighter and more pointed like cedar wood. Green and earthy, grasses and moss...
sometimes well perceptible. But there's something behind it, next to it, about it, underneath it?
"That's enough." i try to keep myself from too deep "digging".
But is not completely possible for me.
I catch something that I overlooked(smelled) so far, or I wanted to...
Something very own "animalistic" that has authority from the very beginning of life.
Something that is in all of us, deeply hidden and often denied.
The spirit of time, of many times...
And also that of one day in our life in which much happens at the same time, often unnoticed by us...
Until you read about it in the paper...
