Crown Perfumery has been around since 1872 and was once a leading British perfume house. Parfums Raffy says Queen Victoria allowed them to use her crown in the design. In 1999 Clive Christian bought it, kept the bottle design, revisited the fragrances, and issued them under the Clive Christian brand. Though discontinued, some Crown Perfumery fragrances are still available. Can't remember where I got this one. To me it's a unisex scent, but there's nothing complicated here. In fact, Crown Ess Bouquet smells exactly like its notes, Basil, Lavender, Musk, Thyme. Maybe the citrus note is a bit of a muddle, but still the perfume works. It's fresh and green. I might wear it to a picnic some summer's day.
