The Scent for Cinephiles

Hello there :)

I saw the scent today at Karstadt (Berlin) and immediately tested it; it smells very intense of mandarin and still contains the Cool Water DNA.

The longevity is likely between 4 and 5 hours, and the price for 100ml is around €50 (RRP). This version is limited, and if you're interested, you should act quickly as you never know how high this edition is and especially whether any will be produced again.

The scent manages to create a bridge between film and fragrance lovers, because, and this is very important, IT IS NOT MERCHANDISE! Rather, it is a collaboration between Davidoff, the designer brand, and the film people who developed the movie; you could also wear it perfectly for a movie night.

The scent itself smells very delicious of mandarin and makes you long for the sea; it is not intrusive, not exciting, and also not overpowering. You could actually wear it in any season, but I can well imagine that many will prefer it in summer due to its freshness.

The bottle makes a nice impression; it transitions from white to a beautiful dark blue gradient, with the Davidoff Cool Water logo in the middle and the Aquaman logo underneath.

Even fresher than Cool Water

Who would have thought? THE Aquat can be even fresher. The mandarin makes it possible. The opening is fresh-citrusy, slightly synthetic, but still good. At the same time, Cool Water resonates. The flanker is not an independent fragrance; it is truly a flanker. Cool Water is unmistakable. In the end, a hint of guaiac wood remains. Everything lasts about 4 hours on the skin with a pleasant sillage. This fragrance impresses with its freshness and the fact that it is a true flanker with a successful nuance.

The Freshest Cool Water Flanker

Cool Water Aquaman/ Street Fighter Champion Edition is a super affordable and super fresh offshoot of the original Cool Water EdT. Very simple and very effective in what it aims to be. Personally, I like it the most of all the Cool Water flankers.

The green mandarin is used quite differently here than in Cool Water Intense. Not as sweet, maybe minimal. Instead, it's very fresh. This freshness is further emphasized by the pepper and woods. I don't find the scent particularly aquatic. It is perfect for summer, as a refreshment on warm days and for the gym or other sports activities. For a CW EdT, it also lasts surprisingly long (4, 5h) and projects quite well during the first hour. For the price (25€ for 125ml), there are hardly any fresher and better options.

Choose your Fighter

The freshest, but also simplest Cool Water. The Aquaman/Street Fighter Edition of Cool Water represents, for me, the best flanker in the series.

Here, a wonderful authentic mandarin meets some restrained pepper. The whole thing is served on a wooden platter.
After the truly mandarin-focused opening, the pepper comes to the forefront. At this point, the mandarin becomes a bit synthetic for a moment. However, this fades away after a few moments.

Who would have thought it, there is no development. Over time, only the mandarin fades and the spiciness of the pepper comes through more.

The longevity/sillage is more than justified considering the price.

It represents a great alternative to all the complex fragrances.
Sometimes I don't need all that complex stuff, and that's exactly when this scent can shine.

More than just an olfactory summer break snack!

No, it’s a fully grown and wonderfully bitter "Blue" that lasts a long time and plays with spicy-peppery notes along with citrus fruits and dark woods. And it lasts longer than the aforementioned "5.9" would suggest. At least a SEVEN, if not a full 8..
And it doesn’t remind me of "shower gel" at all! More like a high-quality body oil with great aromas. It has hardly anything in common with the classic "Cool Water" - except for the blue color. This "Waterman collector" reaches further than just beaches, lakes, and coasts.
It leads into coastal green forests, where beach pines and junipers mix their scents with cool sea breezes in a loose arrangement. Alongside earthy notes that subtly hint at damp soil. And of all places in the Mediterranean??? For me, it’s more "Atlantic," even at higher latitudes. I like it very much!

The best out of the line. Its a variation of Azzaro Chrome Extreme with a slight touch of the OG cool water. Summer feelings to the max

Only the faintest DNA of the original Cool Water - not a bad thing. Good dumb reach freshie, but longevity isn't great.
