Good one!

I've never been a big fan of the Cool water line but for some reason I quite like this one. I respect what I get for quite a low price. The comparison with Invictus and Sauvage is in place, but if I have to choose I would rather go for Cool Water Parfum. CWP doesn't have that synthetic harsh opening of Sauvage edt and my nose simply enjoys the fresh-sweet i.e. lemon-pepper combo with quite a masculine woody base underneath. There is nothing exceptional or original about this fragrance, but it could be worn pretty much anytime-anywhere. It could be a very good choice for younger males without too much money for the expensive fragrances. It smells fresh, clean, woody and masculine. Again, don't expect anything extraordinary, but when taking the price into account, this is a great release in this cheapy category.

One of the CW flankers I can blindly reach for

For me this comes across as being aquatic, fresh with some sweetness that's not cloying, off-putting or juvenile. You can wear this during the hot days, evenings, casual, a bit dressed up, for work or sport. I have no idea how this works during colder weather (below 20 °C/68°F), because I live in a very humid region. The longevity is great, far better than the Cool Water EDT. For me Cool Water Parfum sits between the EDT and Intense when it comes to longevity and projection. Projection is between moderate and loud for the first hour, goes to moderate after the first hour and stays like that till the 3th hour. Around the 4 hour mark, you can reapply. I prefer max of 5 sprays for Cool Water Parfum.

"Well, it works, Davidoff!"

I have to admit that for the past few years I've been leaning more towards "niche" fragrances... which has to do with the fact that in this segment you can find more substantial/exciting scents... Also due to my older age now... I like to spend more euros on things that are important to me... food... drinks... tralalala. :-)
Cool Water was my constant companion back in the going-out/excess days + I wore it exclusively for years! I was one with it and it was my "signature".
Recently, I was close to getting a bottle again, out of nostalgia, when I stumbled upon the perfume.
I was curious, quickly ordered it, and am now very satisfied.
I am always extremely skeptical about COTY fragrances because they often turn out to be "blenders": sprayed on, found to be good, and after an hour you realize it's just the same old stuff.
I also got Cool Water Intense and was surprised by Davidoff's new approach to Cool Water... it's actually completely different but also completely good in a way...

Now to the perfume.
I don't want to sniff out a primal DNA, yet it is a solid Aquatic/Freshie that this time chooses the spicy route (thanks to the added vetiver)..... and even has a development. From a blue-citrus breeze to a yellow-green spiciness - just to add some color to it :-)
So I like it. It's also quite potent..... sprayed on at noon (1 test spray on the wrist).... still there at 7:00 PM. Respect!
Maybe it was also launched for the older crowd who were Cool Water junkies back in the day and are now meant to be hooked again... who knows.. :-))))
The heavy glass bottle is also quite chic....
So I'm pleasantly surprised. Whether I will buy it again when it's empty.... I don't know....
For that, I have (thanks to PARFUMO... way too many) alternatives in my fragrance cabinet. *laugh*
I would die to smell a Cool Water vintage once more and mentally take off to the early club days... :-) ... the new version is said to be somewhat "minimized"...
Anyway... Cool Water perfume is worth a test and I give it a "thumbs up"!

The Foam Crown of Wavevolution?

Yes, I am (still) a “Cool Water” fan and enjoy wearing both the original and the significantly different Intense more often than I care to admit. Therefore, I was more than curious about the new “Parfum,” even introducing it directly into my collection due to its very affordable price. What can this so far “most mature cool water” do? A new king with a trident? Or rather a wave parakeet?

“Cool Water” (Parfum) has taken something from both the original and Intense while still showcasing its own character. Dark blue sea foam, a bit mineral, crashing and roaring cliffs. Significantly more mature and darker than its predecessors. Not sweet, rather high-quality fresh. Despite slightly chemical notes at the very beginning. The fragrance pyramid is negligible. Saltiness is missing. Otherwise, it’s a shower gel aquate with wave movement and independence. The maritime man of tomorrow. I like it better than some “Wild” or “Blue.” “Cool Water” (Parfum) is a tsunami in the making. A water offspring without a washing compulsion. A pleasantly scented fish in a suit. And a successful alternative to both its brothers and the current zeitgeist. Although it (or its family) actually paved the way for this once…

Bottle: so far the most beautiful Cool Water. But apart from the thick bottom, it’s familiar. Sillage: no one comments on it Longevity: 6-7 hours Poseidon makes his rounds

Conclusion: initially strange and not graspable. But once you’ve made friends with it, a sparkling-foaming aquate between the deep sea and high-pitched. Could still rise in my sympathy and wearing frequency. First impression slightly behind its two brothers - yet very good.

Cool Water 2.0

Davidoff Cool Water EdT has been one of my absolute favorite fragrances since 2013. Therefore, I probably haven't even experienced the old flankers, which are said to be much better. I must say that I found the Cool Water EdP to be good, very strong in projection, but it felt more like an independent fragrance and had nothing to do with Cool Water EdT anymore (penetratingly sweet). The perfume from this year now approaches the principle of freshness of CW more closely again. Woods blend with maritime notes. Light citrus, you can faintly smell the sea. One could say that this represents the reinterpretation of CW from 2021. CW has grown up.

The perfume is less suitable for sports activities and not strictly for summer, but rather as an everyday scent throughout the year, e.g. in the office. Longevity and sillage settle between CW EdT and EdP, around 6 hours with good projection. Price/performance is, as always, very good for CW. A good release from Davidoff!

It did not live up to my expectations. Yes, good, but not disruptive. Turns around ambroxan, it's Sauvage Davidoff and no longer Cool Water.

not really a straight up sauvage clone. Its the same thing as with Wave where they mixed the OG DNA with Invictus - in this case Sauvage

What a shame. It's not the original scent in a stronger form, but something modern: shower gel vibes, Sauvage etc. - "performs well," but smells mediocre.
