Quiet and cozy confidence
i was lucky enough to get several testers of this as an introduction to the scent back in 2016. After trying it for a couple of days I started to really like it, and eventually I ended up buying a 100ml bottle. Which ran out in 2020. And I missed wearing Want so much that I just ended buying another 100ml bottle a year later. That's how much I love this perfume!

This is a pure powdery vanilla scent, yet not overly sweet. I consider this a 'transition' fragrance; perfect for the mediocre and sometimes rainy weather of spring and autumn. It's too powdery and comforting for summer, and not loud enough for winter. Although I so love wearing it on my clothes in winter, as it sticks around longer on clothes than on my skin. However don't spray this on white clothes, as it will leave yellowish stains.

Mandarin orange? No, unless you count the slight citrus vibe you get when you put your nose right next to your skin within the first hour of spraying it. I get zero Mandarin orange here. The ginger and pepper are noticeable upon first applying and give it a little sassiness.
Vanilla? Very much so, but not the loud, gourmandy vanilla that we usually smell in todays perfumes. Instead, it smells rather powdery and clean. It's really nicely blended with the spicy and floral notes. Sillage is quite soft, but I don't mind. People dont have to smell me before they see me. The lasting power really surprised me though. I could still smell it after 10 hours.

Overall I would describe this as a comfort scent for cold days and nights and for confident women who don't feel the need to announce their presence trough their perfume. This is a quiet confidence, a relaxed state of mind that everything is under control.

Love in the Time of Coronavirus
DSQUARED2 is one of the brands I usually avoid like a coughing passenger on public transport. But a pandemic does something to you. Some hoard hygiene products, I reach for samples that I had already written off (untested). How exactly WANT found its way into my makeup bag is no longer clear, but there it was, along with 3 others. And of these 4 little fragrances, it was the one that intrigued me the least. So I grabbed it. Women are like that, they think and say one thing, and do another. Especially when they have the apocalypse in sight.
Somewhere, Harry Styles is playing "Adore You." The rain is pouring, and I have to go out soon, without an umbrella. Among people! I have a long journey ahead of me by bus and train. Since I stayed at a hotel, I didn’t even have my Holyflaps favorite mug with the fitting print "I hate people" for breakfast. This is going to be a tough journey (Broilers).
But, what is this? I know you....(my mood is lifting!)?
I smell something beautiful, familiar. A dry, spicy, woody vanilla. Eau des Missions/Spiritueuse Double Vanille comes to mind. And yet, I only used the Want sample. Strange. I like it.
(Always these prejudices, Schanelle. Just because you are too old and too uncool to wear the fashion of this label, doesn’t mean the scent has to be bad.)
It keeps getting better; now I even think I smell hyacinth or some spicy early bloomer.
I am enchanted. The scent makes me happy and cheerful, even though Christmas is still so far away. But Want lives up to its name.
Strong, unsweetened-vanilla, woody, it smells unexpectedly old school, an old soul in a ...well, modern bottle.
I cheerfully continue on my way and am glad I met it. Hopefully, we will meet again! (I will make sure of that....)

Want to Have?
Want is a fragrance by Dsquared2, a brand I mostly associate with woody scents (like He or She Wood) or the Potion, most of which are lovely fragrances.

With Want comes a scent that not only sounds quite nice from the fragrance notes but also smells almost sugary sweet. And since the bottle looks feminine enough for a women's fragrance, I'm glad I have a sample of this scent to test it at my leisure instead of spraying it in a store and quickly seeking the exit (at least I no longer scream "aaaaaaaaaaargh!" while running! :DD).

Feel free to make fun of me (noooooo!), but it’s sometimes a strange feeling to test a women's fragrance. Even though I've done it so many times, I just can't get used to it! Well, maybe one day… :D Definitely!! :DD

The Scent:
The beginning is quite sweet. You can smell the sweet-spicy pink pepper, slightly almondy but also sweet heliotrope, and powdery vanilla, although the latter is still faint and only unfolds more and more as the scent develops.
Regarding the listed mandarin, I'm a bit unsure if I can really detect it. Yes, it may smell fruity, but it doesn’t strike me as mandarin; rather, it seems generally fruity.
A little later, I smell a spicy-herbaceous note, but here too, I must say that I don't detect the ginger; instead, there's a generally bitter or herbal note that prevents the scent from drifting into overly sweet territory. Otherwise, roses come into play, along with a heavy neroli note.
As we approach the base, as probably expected, vanilla becomes the main character. And there’s nothing wrong with that, as the vanilla smells nice, is beautifully powdery, and makes the scent soft, gentle, and warm. Of course, you can still smell floral notes, especially rose, and a bit of the fruity scents, so it doesn’t just smell like vanilla. Additionally, everything smells natural here; there's no trace of synthetics. A very lovely fragrance.

The Sillage and Longevity:
The projection is quite okay; it's not detectable from a distance, but it can be well perceived up close. With a higher dosage, a nice scent cloud lingers.
I also found the longevity to be fine, as you can smell it on the skin for about eight or nine hours.

The Bottle:
The bottle is cylindrical and made of glass. However, it is surrounded by a large, gold-plated metal ring, on which the name of the fragrance is engraved. It is topped with a white, round cap that, due to its size, resembles a lamp. An interestingly designed and nice-looking bottle.
As I said, the bottle has a feminine touch due to its lovely look, so it would have been difficult for me to spray the scent in a store without standing out too much with this thing in hand :D

Oh yes, Want could definitely be categorized as "Want to Have," as it gives off a great scent, provided you like fruity-floral vanilla fragrances (and, of course, scents that are supposed to be powdery). And the fragrance isn't very expensive either, especially as is often the case online.

The scent is very feminine, soft, and warm, and is best used either as an outing or cuddly scent. Especially in autumn and winter, it should make a good impression, as it fits the cooler seasons where one wants to cuddle up to a perfume even more,… *sigh* :D

Yes, I'm glad I had a sample here. Not only to have gotten to know the scent so I can recommend it to you, but also because, as mentioned, it would be a bit uncomfortable for me if this sweet scent cloud were to radiate from me, smelling all sugary sweet and lovely and cute :D

Ladies, I can only recommend that you test this fragrance!

I want Want!
When I read Pudelbonzo's comment, I immediately knew this is a fragrance for me. It practically screams my name. I love vanilla cuddly scents that aren't too sweet. At first, I had some concerns, because if it's too woody, I can strangely feel nauseous. No matter, the fragrance immediately jumped onto my wish list.
I would have even been capable of ordering a bottle blindly out of pure greed and foolishness. However, due to my current lack of euros, I had to refrain from that.
There are fragrances where I had the same impulse and gave in - and then bitterly regretted it.
But with Want, I would have actually hit the jackpot blindly, as I realized today at Müller, where I went specifically to test the fragrance.

First of all, I was surprised by the bottle, because this large sphere that serves as the cap looked huge and heavy, almost like a billiard ball.
Unfortunately, they didn't have any samples, so I had to spray it directly on my hand.

Want starts off slightly vanilla, but there’s a subtle floral note accompanying it. Maybe it’s also a hint fruity, but everything is rather subtle. The overall composition is finely balanced. However, the beautiful vanilla note takes center stage right from the start.
The base is vanilla and slightly woody, with something fresh in the background, perhaps floral? Everything is light and carefree. Simply beautiful, I am totally in love. Ah, I could just sink into it, snuggling like against an angel who gently embraces and protects me, humming a soft melody that radiates warmth and coziness.
Oh my, did I just write that?
You can see what the fragrance does to me.
Even my partner, who usually doesn’t want to know anything about perfume, said sharply: "Smells great!"

Conclusion: I want Want.... and please quickly!

Fresh Vanilla Fairy Dust
Recently, I had the pleasure of testing "Want" in a particularly beautiful, spacious perfumery in Frankfurt and received a nice little sample of it for free, which I finally unpacked today after recovering from bronchitis and eagerly and curiously sprayed on my wrist.
As I am still on the hunt for the perfect vanilla scent for myself, I was pleasantly surprised that, as if a fairy were waving her magic wand, a dense, powdery vanilla cloud wafted around my nose, accompanied by the initially somewhat synthetic mandarin and the spicy pink pepper, giving it a fresh-fruity touch. The ginger adds a cool hint, which soon transforms into an airy floral quality through rose, heliotrope, and neroli, which now accompanies the fragrance. The fairy has now scattered her fairy dust for the second time. I don't explicitly smell the rose, but it does its job, and fortunately, the mandarin now loses its synthetic character and organically aligns itself with the floral notes.
And simsalabim, after about an hour, deeper vanilla nuances and a woody undertone, albeit a delicate one, come into play. The fairy dust now takes on a pleasantly rounded, vanillic, and subtly floral substance. Now I particularly enjoy sniffing my wrist - and the scent suddenly reminds me of Guerlain's "Angélique Noire," except that it doesn't come across as dark, but rather light - fairy-like, indeed.
At first spray, I was somewhat bothered by the synthetic note of the mandarin and the minimal sharpness of the pink pepper, but after half an hour, the softness of the fragrance prevailed, which over time evolved into a rounded, floral, vanillic whole.
I wouldn't have thought it in the first five minutes, as the scent felt too fresh to me then, but now I must admit: I like it - yes, really well!
It has a medium to strong sillage for my standards in the first hours, which decreases slowly and remains very noticeable throughout the day. I find the bottle simply sweet and very fitting in reflecting the scent: pastel fairy-like in color, yet round and substantial in shape.
A wonderful fragrance that I will definitely test more often - and let's see what becomes of us both...

A clean woody vanilla with pronounced ginger/pepper in the opening and a powdery lipstick note in the dry down. Sweet but not gourmand.

I think it has just the right something. Unusual scent. Very well done. Vanilla-floral-powdery-not sweet. Let's see if it turns into love?!

A tough vanilla scent - even wearable at conferences! Has nothing in common with the male-desired memories of when Mom used to make pudding.

Vanilla for summer! Initially fresh, then ambroxan, heliotrope, powdery, light. + reminds quite a bit of Eau des Missions! Vanilla sugar.

Wow! I've just fallen in love! It's absolutely amazing, mega, warm, and vanilla. Reminds me of vanilla rice pudding, but not too sweet!

My association: 80s hairspray - sharp, scratchy, covered with synthetic-sweet flowers... NO, I don’t WANT that!

Woody, unsweet vanilla scent. Starts fruity-peppery. Becomes slightly almondy, lots of heliotrope, powdery. Something sharp is off-putting.
