It's Hard Out Here For A B....
Since Dueto clearly targets a younger customer base, I'll just quote the current Lilly Allen hit in my title, which I initially found quite cool but has now been almost overplayed by the uninspired German radio. This cheeky pop song is more cheerful and bitchy, rather than dark and bitchy, but at least one adjective fits.

Besides the song, the fragrance also reminds me of a more feminine Black Tie. A dark, juicy rose-oud combo - good, but overdone. The opening with cinnamon-lemony powdery violet is quite an acquired taste and already exudes a certain medical darkness, almost tomb-like. Sweet, dark, a bit chaotic, very synthetic, and sometimes unpleasantly piercing! Only slowly does the fragrance calm down, and it becomes beautiful. Almost a 180-degree turn from the failed part 1.

Bottle: I like purple the least.
Sillage: still tame for a rose-oud combo.
Longevity: 9/10 points and hours!

I'm slowly getting annoyed with Dueto, as they just can't manage to create a consistently good fragrance from start to finish. Here, once again, only the dry down is noteworthy. But both the oud and patchouli from the brand seem to come from the top class, as they really save a lot with their balsamic-gourmand appearance in the finale!

A Dark Red Love for the Big City
Not much is known about Dueto Parfums, founded in Paris in 2010; even on their stylish website, practically nothing is revealed about the brand's origin story.
I have not encountered Dueto Parfums fragrances in any perfumery, and since all prices are only listed in USD, it likely isn't available here.
This is actually a shame, as this very young niche brand seems to have four available fragrances that are absolutely suitable for everyday wear.

In my opinion, Dueto Parfums seems to want to strike a similar chord as Bond No.9; they aim to appeal to a young, modern, urban, and above all, affluent clientele.

With City Love, it quickly becomes clear that this is a stylistic rose fragrance that strongly reminds one of Washington Tremlett's Black Tie, although the latter is certainly a bit more elegant and not quite as cheeky.

A dark red, almost black rose meets oud, an ingredient that seems to be favored at Dueto Parfums.
What is nicely done is that City Love is not overly loud, which is often the case with rose fragrances.
City Love presents itself considerately but still prominently, with a well-balanced sillage. Furthermore, it is relatively long-lasting and is more oriented towards younger people with its modern touch.
However, it is not a true alternative.

Many thanks to AngelinBlack

Rose-oud scent with a stronger tendency towards sweet-floral and a lovely hint of cinnamon. A fine fragrance, though primarily feminine.

I really find the scent beautiful. The rose is the most noticeable to me. Not too sweet and not too bitter. Truly lovely.

A name as unsuitable as the scent itself... typical rose-oud combination, but luckily here with an earthy & ethereal undertone.
