The top note is the epitome of a gourmand

Now I am looking at a sample of "Tonka Deluxe | Duftanker MGO Duftmanufaktur," which I ordered directly from the manufacturer. I must say that I find the top note very brilliant and gourmand - it's a shame that the fragrance fades a bit over time. The longevity on my skin is about 8 to 10 hours, and the sillage also garnered a few positive remarks.

As mentioned at the beginning, the top note starts off extremely gourmand but also sweet thanks to marzipan, bitter almonds, and amaretto. For a short time, it also has a green, citrusy, and subtly herbal scent of bergamot, rosemary, and pine. The heart note continues to smell nutty-sweet with pistachios and hazelnuts. It also has a creamy-powdery scent of tonka beans with a hint of tobacco. In the base, a sweetness remains, which is caressed by bourbon vanilla and cinnamon. In the background, cedarwood with a touch of incense can be discerned.

This is a really beautiful fragrance that would fit perfectly into the Christmas season.

Tonka Deluxe starts off with a dominant almond, marzipan note, which fades after about 10 minutes and becomes somewhat duller. I can't perceive bergamot, rosemary, or jasmine, but there is a very faint hint of smoke. With a lot of imagination, I can also detect a slight pine needle note, hidden somewhere in the background. No note bothers or annoys me here. At some point, after about an hour, the scent becomes a bit darker and woodier. It takes on a minimal soapy nuance (which could be due to the rose), but that's hardly worth mentioning. The rose becomes prominent, perhaps a bit too much for my taste. The composition is only slightly sweet, feeling warm and enveloping. Definitely unisex wearable. All components blend harmoniously together. The scent is quite potent in the first half hour; if I spray it too much and too close to my nose, it can become a bit cloying for me. But I am very sensitive and not a standard. Sprayed further away, for example on the nape of my neck, I am surrounded by a beautifully enveloping, warming scent. The oud is pleasantly used here and not barn-like, while the incense is only lightly detectable. After a good hour, it predominantly smells of rose-oud. All in all, a rather successful and beautiful fragrance.

For me, the best of the bunch. Lots of tonka, associations with cinnamon & bitter almond (coumarin). Hazelnut fits perfectly, vanilla isn't necessary.
