Underrated perfume from an underrated house
Nowadays people try to find the best replacement for Aventus, with better projection and longevity.
Nishane Hacivat seems to be the best alternative, but if you look for a more woodsy and smoky substitute, Parana is the absolute best.
Less fruity-mostly bergamot and black currant- more mossy with a slight hint of patchouli.
Along with Micallef Royal Vintage, an absolute stunner.

L'Italiano
I think it’s no secret what inspiration Bois 1920 had in 2018 when Paranà was created or released.
While that has changed significantly over the last few years, Paranà seems to have remained very consistent, as it reminds me of the batches from 2017/2018 of Creed Aventus. It also reminds me of Absolu Aventus, which joined my collection at the end of last year. Regarding Creed Aventus, its development and flankers, one could probably write a book, so I won’t even start on that :)

To get straight to the point: Bois 1920 Paranà is not a dupe. It probably never wanted to be.
Paranà is finely spicy, fresh, and lightly fruity at the same time. It is bright but still has a nice depth.

Birch plays a strong role in this piece, giving Paranà a slightly (really just subtly) smoky-leathery quality throughout the entire fragrance journey, without going in a dark direction.
In addition, there is a beautiful rose & jasmine in the heart, which, combined with the fruitiness of bergamot / blackcurrant (I think I can also smell a hint of pineapple), in the top and the vetiver, musk, patchouli, and amber in the base, creates a very professional yet versatile perfume.
Oakmoss plays only a very subtle role in the background and never becomes “moldy” - as can sometimes be perceived with other fragrances.

It’s also worth mentioning the beautiful citrus from bergamot (and I think also lemon), which comes through like a bright ray of sunshine from top to base - interestingly, it becomes more noticeable towards the base, which I have never experienced with another perfume before.
All the fragrance notes smell very authentic and natural.

Paranà definitely works across all four seasons, for any occasion, doesn’t clash anywhere, is not intrusive, and is very easy to like.

I find the longevity to be very good.
Sillage: 2-3 hours perceivable within arm's length, then it slowly retreats and is, in my opinion, very close to the skin after 5 hours for the rest of the (work)day.

My clear recommendation, also blind-buy-safe, if what you read appeals to you.

Paraná's barking, biting not
In the store (the wonderful Beauty Affair on the Kö), I was very taken with this new release from Bois 1920, which seemed like the perfect all-rounder for me. At home, however, I was first shocked: had I fallen for a (rather expensive) Aventus? No, fortunately only partially and not too much...

"Paraná" is the new one from Bois 1920 and the first fragrance from the brand in my collection - and rightly so! Because it is a refreshing, youthful, and extremely delicate men's fragrance suitable for leisure to office, from March to October, from fun to business, from date to job interview. And to my relief, it is indeed a whole lot more than just another attempt to grab a piece of the Aventus money. Sure, it has similar fruity-birch vibes, but in the end, it is still far enough away for me not to hit the fragrance twin button on the right.

"Paraná" is sharp but never biting, musk-blackcurrants kiss minimal-leathery vibes with a lot of zest and fun. Summer cocktails call out between every line, especially the classic Mojito. On my skin, this tame piranha is really very bright, almost floral, and ultimately extremely sexy; I can hardly sign off on the leathery-woody direction up top. To me, it feels super approachable, not dark, yet mature enough. A real hit for the office, no doubt. And never intrusive or cheap. The price is justified. It will surely empty quickly...

Bottle: robust, clear, finely crafted, consistently beautiful
Sillage: tends towards subtle
Longevity: close to the skin, but lasts 6-8 hours

Conclusion: a clear, bright, positive, and very appealing all-rounder between Aventus and a sugary-sparkling cocktail. It can only please the environment. I will definitely wear it very often and with great pleasure. What more could you want?! A purchase mistake averted.

Mainstream fruity smoke with a hint of shower gel freshness. Quite distinctive, but a bit overpowering over time. Not a prime example for this brand.

Lots of spicy fruit, little flower, decent smoke, a kind of black Aventus.

Aventus DNA with a Mojito vibe. Fresh, fruity, green, leathery, and smoky. A very high-quality scent. It’s a lot of fun!

The exuberant little fruits turn blue quickly, along with green flowers and a hint of smoke. A beautiful (aventoide) composition.

Ranked 14th among the longest rivers on Earth, much higher in the fruity-woody cosmos of Hacivat, Orion, and Aventus.

Same same but different. A slightly fruity, herbal Aventus Mutante is looking for new hosts. Dangerously similar and contagiously well made.

wow - my first bois and what a total hit - the opening sparks curiosity - the dry down captivates (me) - it can stay forever!

Definitely belongs to the A-Tussies family, but it's smokier and a bit more floral, a mix of Orion and Morning Chess, good.

Unripe black currants.
Green amber.
Muscle man in the shower.
Very masculine, green-tinged amber scent. Not for me.
