Simply and serious
I'm judging "Simply You for Her" as a good scent for little money. A scent with not much developement. Citric notes are revealing the beginning of "Simply You for Her" . A moment later they are reglissing are staying in a clear but restrainung intensity all over the longevitiy. Then the fragrance of heliotrop is percolating very clearly. I dare say that because every summer I was and I'am growing heliotrop in my garden or on my terrace. Just two hours ago I did a sniff on them and they smelled overwhelming as always. Heliotrop is fraganting like almond, vanilla, tonka beans, chocolate and star anis. The particular types of the heliotropes' odours are depending on whether, temperature and the daytime.
"Simply You for Her" then is extruding an acetone note, but only very close to the skin. The sillage around me is emphasing also the creaminess of orris and a cheerful blossom mixture which is giving "Simply You for Her" a more transparent character.
The sillage could be strong. I tested several times, each only with a tiny drop and it was filling the space around me half of the room. An agreable perfume which can be compared with some a lot more expensive scents.

The Slim Sister of the Fat Loulou
So now and then I like to sniff Loulou. Me, who actually doesn’t like FLORAL SCENTS! I probably wouldn’t wear the fat floral child, but somehow it has something, and I keep sniffing it whenever I encounter it on my excursions. And that’s how I stumbled upon Simply You, which is said to smell somewhat similar, but I remembered it quite differently from a long-ago test.

So I wanted to test it again. But then the surprise: I could hardly get my hands on it! I ran from drugstore to drugstore, and there was no Simply You anywhere! Finally, I managed to snag a small bottle in the discount section (there was no tester, so I HAD to buy it blind!), which was also on sale: another indication that Simply You is probably being discontinued or has already been. So anyone who likes this scent should stock up while they can!

The next surprise is the massive sillage, which I noticed right after the first spray and which I hadn’t expected. The small test spray on my hand already had a remarkable reach. So be careful with the dosage! The scent also reminds me a lot of Loulou. Simply You is like the slim sister of the fat Loulou. Simply You carries less weight, but both share their bold nature and assertive presence. Simply You also comes in strong and is very floral, powdery, soft, sweet, and delicately vanillic. I can also smell the orange blossom - actually my nemesis, but lately I seem to be handling it better. The base, which is significantly softer, is what I like best.

I personally find the massive opening a bit disturbing, as the intense sillage lasts a good two hours for me, and only then does the scent noticeably quiet down. The base, however, is still good for another two to three hours, but is much more subtle. With re-spraying, it’s a bit tricky: you always start over and “delight” your surroundings for quite a while. This drop-off is a bit too extreme for me. And that’s also the reason why Simply You only gets 70 percent from me.

Nevertheless, Simply You is a very well-made scent that doesn’t smell cheap and doesn’t have to hide behind higher-priced fragrances at all.

Orient for a Pocket Change or Let's Go for a Spin!
After a long, stressful workday and some errands afterwards, I found myself at dm. Maybe there’s something nice to sweeten my evening.
There, a little bottle caught my eye, and it was even on sale. Beautifully shaped, simple, from Esprit, let’s see. Expecting a light, sweet, floral, and fruity little fragrance, I spritzed it on my wrist with a “pppffft”.
It is fruity, but not piercing or squeaky. A bit of neroli greets me, and lurking here is something dark, powdery, a hint of smoky vanilla. A quick stroll through the store and it was clear: I want this.

Simply You is supposed to capture the magic and the accompanying feelings and impressions of a young romance. More on that later.

The next day, it got to accompany me to work right away. Joyfully, I misted myself with a few spritzes, and bam, it suddenly felt much more intense.
The opening is really only briefly fresh and juicy fruity, then heliotrope and iris take over immediately. Heavy, oriental, sweet, vanillic, spicy, smoky, very sexy and almost lascivious. I am in awe and almost struggling to breathe. The sillage is immense, hopefully not too overwhelming for the office. Absolutely unsynthetic and well done. If I had tested it blind, I would have certainly guessed something high-end and not a fragrance from the drugstore.

It does have something of a romance. The sweet moments of the first encounter, the mutual sympathy, first bonds are timidly formed. And then the sudden desire, sleepless nights, painful yearning, confused wandering around, and every thought is dedicated to the other.

This impression lasts for several hours (one is amazed). However, it does change a bit. It becomes a bit more refined, softer, warmer, and sweeter, but never sticky or girly. The smooth, smoky powder swirls a bit less, and beautiful, creamy woody notes come in. A slight hint of orange blossom. A light, dry fruity sweetness in the background. Now also only gently oriental, but what more can you want for the price?

There were compliments too. A colleague, who only helps out during busy times, came into the office and plopped down on the nearest chair. “Wow, what smells so good here?! It’s totally driving me crazy!” After I outed myself as the source, the fragrance was praised at length. How seductive and fragrant it is. He was also surprised that it’s from Esprit.

My little bottle (15 ml) has already been quite used since the purchase. A larger bottle will follow soon. A fragrance that always works and makes me feel very comfortable and attractive. I would even wear it out or for any other special occasions. However, not necessarily during the day in the height of summer, as it can feel a bit overwhelming then, but it’s a good choice for the evening hours. Moreover, it’s a fragrance that knows no age. The longevity is very good. A few spritzes are enough, and about seven hours later, you can still perceive the scent distinctly.

I was burning with curiosity about the nose behind the perfume; what else has been beautifully created? I’m not surprised that the perfumer is the same one who gifted us Ambre Orient.

A lovely thing, great scent with lasting power for little money. I’ll gladly continue to browse the drugstore shelf.

And now to the topic: definitely fulfilled. For me, a crazy lovebird with a bedroom gaze. (Copyright “Rio”). Let’s go for a spin, Chérie!

Surprise Part I
Today I tried one or rather two of my blind buys again.
On the right Simply you by Esprit, on the left Dolcelisir by LÈrbolario.
I’m slowly noticing the Parfumo disease in myself, which comes with the belief that 'cheap' and 'department store fragrances' can’t be anything special - even though I never wanted that. It’s more of a subconscious thing, but I’m working on it.
In any case, I approached my test with no great expectations - by the way, it’s a perfume I bought for my daughter, who is a fan of Esprit fragrances.
And I was pleasantly surprised.
Simply you is actually not a 'special' scent, but it is a very nice fragrance that can be worn well in everyday life.
Shortly after spraying, a hint of cologne came to my nose - it must be the neroli that I can recognize in the meantime. But then this scent becomes really pleasant. It smells fruity-fresh-mild, indeed of various citrus fruits that are beautifully softened by the woody notes.
After a while, something emerges that I perceive as 'powdery' - it could come from the musk.
After that, the fragrance doesn’t undergo any special development - nor does it need to.
This powdery note - wherever it may come from - is a pleasant companion for the next three to four hours, fitting in many situations.
And since I’m not a big fan of sillage, it doesn’t really bother me that the scent doesn’t project too much - it stays close to me and I can smell it well. My daughter likes it too, but on me. So I get to keep it - it’s not for her.
The longevity for me is about five hours, then I really have to bring my nose to my wrist to still smell that powdery note.

Surprise Part I, by the way, because I was also surprised by Dolcelisir. That will be Surprise Part II, but not today.

Heliotropic
In the first few minutes after spraying Simply You, I perceive a floral scent that I find simply divine. It must be the orange blossoms, whose scent I really like "in real life," but have not encountered too often. When I first tested the fragrance at dm, I was more than just a little surprised when I later smelled my wrist again and it strongly resembled the same note that fascinates me in Jil by Jil Sander: I am quite sure it is heliotrope, even though it has absolutely nothing in common with Heliotrope by Etro (which I recently tested and smelled deliciously like a giant marzipan loaf). This Jil-like note remains present in Simply You until the end. It is very noticeable and only after a few hours, when it weakens, does a hint of musk join in before the fragrance completely disappears. It lasts about 5 hours on me, during which it is quite strongly perceptible, then about three more hours as a gentle whisper. For the office, I will apply it very cautiously, as the scent cloud surrounding me is not exactly faint.

Bright, summery, and cheerful, the magical trio of mandarin, orange, and neroli - overall a sugary sweet fruit candy.
