Cold that is broken by a flare of warmth
I personally find it a shame that the fragrance plays a subordinate role compared to Bois Imperial and Divine Vanille. However, it also means that the fragrance is rarely if ever encountered. Which in turn makes me happy.

Mon Vetiver starts with an extreme chord of alcohol. After just under 5 seconds, this disappears completely and gives way to a surprisingly cold sensation. Reminds me of Terre Eau Givree by Hermes. The coldness comes so suddenly that it gives you pause. Before you understand what is happening, a subtle warmth sets in. This gradually displaces the cold. It is amazing that the whole thing takes place in the first 1-2 minutes. I don't know of any fragrance that does this so impressively.

The warmth is accompanied by a fine woodiness and this is paired with a beguiling spiciness. I perceive balsamic and light cinnamon nuances. For me, vetiver through and through.

Contrary to the prevailing opinion here, the vetiver lingers for hours.

I subjected the fragrance to the hardcore program today. 11:30 a.m. 2 sprays on the neck and then 2 on the sports jersey. Then 2 hours playing soccer. Now in the evening at 9:30pm, it is still clearly noticeable. Yes, it is not a projection monster, but the stamina is very good.

Cocktails in Haiti
As we all know, there are fragrances for every occasion. Although Mon Vetiver passes as a pleasing and relatively undemanding summer scent, in my eyes it is best served with the increase of (light) cocktails with a slice of lime. Preferably in Haiti, where the eponymous vetiver plays a major economic role. I don't see the wearer wearing this on an evening beach, for example, but while bathing in a modern, sterile, clean resort. I must think with this fragrance inevitably of vacation, sealed off under European prosperity conditions.

Mon Vetiver opens with tangy lime and intense lavender, which makes me think of a Mediterranean dirt road. This combination provides a refreshing feeling in the first few minutes, while also awakening artificial water associations. Liquid tartness then plays in, with gentian bringing a clean note. The fragrance spectrum is held together by the vetiver underlining. Only then could I perceive the patchouli, which remains noticeable all the time, albeit airy and insubstantial. Combined with a subtle and water-wet wood as well as the gentian, the result is a spicy-fresh accord that takes over the citrus. Overall, I note nevertheless no remarkable development.

I don't really know who Mon Vetiver is actually for. It has a figurativeness, yet is somehow inconsequential. It evokes images of summer, but is emotionless. It could be used in many ways, but for me it is too monotonous. He actually does a lot right, but just not exceptionally good.

Pleasant fragrance for everyday use
For me, Mon Vetiver smells like a fresh green breeze with spicy tones and a hint of incense or resin. Maybe it's patchouli, which makes a pleasantly spicy impression on me.

Sprayed on the neck and wrists, the fragrance picks up speed somewhat hesitantly, but then develops into a recurring gust that sometimes blows more strongly, sometimes more gently.

Applied in the late morning, the fragrance was barely perceptible to me towards the evening. However, it was quite cool, so perhaps it needs to be a little warmer.
For me, Mon Vetiver is therefore ideal as a fragrance for work and everyday life that is not too present in the room but is still easily perceptible.

The 10 ml glass pump spray comes in attractively designed packaging with shiny golden highlights. I was irritated by the lack of a protective cap.

I think the Duct is good for testing. Whether I would buy a bottle, probably not. The durability should be more pronounced.

Non-descript hygiene product fresh floral
So, I really like vetiver, and this one is very fresh and green with a touch of sweetness, but somehow, it weirdly reminds me of new diapers… the self stick tabs and “fresh” hygiene product.

It has insane longevity, lasting overnight to 17+ hours though it's lost a bit of the green freshness by that point. The sillage is polite throughout.

Sprayed on from tester bottle at Ministry of Scent.

Gin and lime head the way for a clean, fuzzy vetiver. Very clean, fresh and uplifting. Guerlain Homme EDP's more vibrant, extroverted cousin

Dry, all season vetiver with a citrus note. Fresh & clean but not much character. Improves in time with a heavier, woody dry down

Dry brush + bar soap. Clean 'n' green, woody and slightly earthy, with a spritz of lime and faint aromatic notes. Yep, it's a vetiver frag.
