When the Spice Rack Falls on You
Here comes the second EL fragrance (and yes,… EL stands for Essenzialmente Laura,… always so hard to write…).

I read musk and incense and therefore expect a light, smoky scent with sweet notes. What I get, however, is something quite different… but not necessarily something bad…

The fragrance:
Hmm… I smell many spices. Somehow with an oriental touch. I still can’t really identify any of them. I think the "main ingredient" is the clove mentioned by everyone here. For a brief moment, I can also smell spices like pepper and possibly even curry in the (far) background. There’s a whole bunch of spices that are hard to distinguish, as they create a big whole together.
Everything is enveloped by a cloud of incense that seems to rise between the fragrance notes. The scent is also a bit sweet, but in my opinion, you can’t really smell that from the musk; instead, it’s more spice-like sweet.

The sillage and longevity:
The projection is above average, although it is a bit stronger at first, but it weakens in less than an hour.
The longevity is about six to eight hours, but by that time the scent is only very faint on the skin.

The bottle:
The bottle looks like a light champagne bottle. The name of the fragrance and other information are on a label shaped to match the bottle. The cap is gray, cylindrical, and bears the perfumer's signature. Quite okay.

So,… if it weren't for the incense, I would have almost sprayed the fragrance not on myself but on my food, which of course I didn’t do, brrr… um, you believe me that I’m not that crazy, right?

In any case, I think this has become quite a spicy fragrance, very oriental in feel, but dosed in moderation, it remains in an acceptable range and doesn’t become extremely overwhelming. Therefore, the fragrance is better used in autumn and winter when men or women (as indicated, the fragrance is unisex) enjoy such scents. It has become more of a "normal" fragrance for occasional use, less for going out.

It’s not bad, but it does remind me of food. And since you smell various spices, it’s as if the spice rack has fallen on you and you smell like all sorts of spices :D

You can test it, but you don’t have to. Oh, and in a kitchen, the scent would definitely go unnoticed.

Clove!
Why write another comment when the headline is so clear? Because I find that the scent is not as bad as the current 5.8 points might suggest. One can find the smell of clove terrible, one can find La Corte terrible, but to me, it simply feels well-crafted and high-quality. That was also my impression when testing "La Regina di Taif." For me, there was perhaps too much lemon involved, but the scent felt lovingly made and had a very valuable aura.

After testing two fragrances, it is too early to form an opinion about a label. However, so far I really have the impression that marketing and reality are not as far apart here as they usually are. The fragrances seem to focus on the essentials, relatively few notes stand out clearly and flow softly and harmoniously into one another. Nothing feels synthetic; everything feels very natural and of good quality.

In La Corte, the clove pulls back a bit after the opening but remains noticeable at all times. Other spice notes can also be recognized, but for me, they are not so clearly identifiable. As the scent develops, frankincense becomes prominent. A bright frankincense that actually harmonizes well with the clove. This way, it doesn't fall into overly clichéd territory, yet the bright, sparkling-crunchy base character is supported.

Additionally, there is something soft that takes away a bit of roughness or sharpness from everything. It's not really sweet, more smooth and unifying. Perhaps it's the musk, maybe something like cashmeran? I really don't know, but it harmonizes well.

I can't imagine wearing La Corte frequently, as this clove frankincense might annoy me over time. However, those who like spices (especially clove) and frankincense, yet also enjoy reduced, clear scents, should take a closer look at La Corte.

Once arrived in the spice store, one is immediately crushed by the sweaty smelling cumin bag.

First incense with various spices, then incense with a hint of gasoline, after 2 hours almost exclusively beautiful clove. I like it!

Green-smoky. Frankincense, vetiver, clove. Not bad, but Serge did a better job with this theme in his Orphan.

Harmonious sweet-spicy, leathery incense, which I, as a Catholic, must deny any sacred effect. More of a worldly thing, yet beautiful!

Spicy clove with incense, I don't notice any musk, cumin, or even jasmine. Quite calm and surprisingly subtle - I like it though ;-)

First, a spice combo led by cumin, then an unbalanced creamy musk scent. Frankincense doesn't play a role for my nose.

To me, it's a mix of cumin and a puma cage - animalistic, sweaty, somehow scratchy. Not for me at all.

First a spicy start, clove? (it reminds me of a pencil smell, but not bad) later it becomes soft, a little incense.
