Ethereal water flowers
A super pretty 90s aquatic floral for spring and summer. Vicolo Fiori reminded me of Laura by Laura Biagiotti when I first tried it, but tested side by side, they're quite different. Laura is much fruitier, Vicolo Fiori is more floral, like the name suggests. But the ethereal, watery feel and nostalgia factor are similar in both. I still like Laura a little more, but this is beautiful, too.

The note that stands out the most to me is cyclamen, with lotus and waterlily coming next. They are all fresh and transparent, but not too thin. A hint of soapy musk adds a creamy and slightly powdery base that anchors the scent. The fruit notes are subtle, but i think they keep the florals from leaning too soapy. I can sense traces of peach, watermelon and citrus, and it seems to vary from day to which fruit is the most noticeable.
The overall scent is very close to the listed notes, except for the base, which is really just musky and not as warm as vanilla, amber and sandalwood make it sound.

The Happy Soul Bird
As a child, I really liked a little book by Michal Snunit, "The Soul Bird." The bird knows many colors of feelings, and for each one, there is a drawer in the bird's body.
Since my soul bird was often rather sad and anxious as a child, laying its large wings protectively over its small head like a blanket, I often imagined before falling asleep how sorrow and worries would disappear into the drawers and be securely locked away with a beautifully ornate key, so that they would rest hidden, somewhere far away in dark places, unreachable for us humans. Then I could usually fall asleep more peacefully.

Vicolo Fiori is a fragrance that reminds me of the beautiful moments of childhood, the ones that shine forever, even when they sometimes seem strangely foreign and distant.
It is a simple, bright, and cheerful scent of fine, slender shape, not strikingly elegant or even sublime, but also not plain in the sense of being arbitrary or trivial.
It is lovely sunscreen on pure, warm skin, a dab of Nivea on round, rosy cheeks and a smiling child’s mouth, small white flowers in freshly washed hair and in the gentle summer breeze.
It is the scent that surrounds us when we stand quietly absorbed in front of a radiant flower, admiring its beauty and thinking of nothing else.
Or when we ride through sun-drenched avenues with a lemon ice in hand, believing that summer will never end.
When we admire broken sunbeams in the sea of clouds, lie peacefully on the beach and make sand angels, eat juicy peaches and need nothing more, the world is enough, everything is there, everything is good.
Simple and quiet happiness in the heart.
It still lingers as a comforting scent in our clothes when we remember the next day in the cool morning twilight that summer will soon be over, even though in the evening we always believe again that the days will never get shorter.

Vicolo Fiori is like the swan-white, shiny plumage of the happy soul bird, exploring the world in the morning and at night, living in us and our dreams, always present, bringing eternal summer - in spring, autumn, and winter.

Nostalgia in Italian Alleys
My husband is Italian, and that's why we spend almost half of the year in bella Italia since both of us retired. Outside of tourism and vacationers, we know Italy as Italians do - neighborhoods that only locals know, narrow alleys with balconies on both sides, and the alleys so narrow that you can reach out your hand to someone on the opposite balcony. On these balconies, freshly washed laundry hangs, there are clay pots with herbs and flowers, cats bask in the sun, and birds take advantage of every water bowl to dip their beaks in and take a bath.
In these narrow streets, pure life unfolds - the latest gossip is shared loudly, children scream, old women sit in front of doors watching the children, old men smoke a pipe, and everything blends into everyday life.
When you stroll there, you smell that certain scent of flowers, herbs, sun, fresh laundry, and the life that takes place there. And that's exactly what I feel when I wear Vicolo fiori.
I don’t want to go through the fragrance pyramid again; my predecessors have done that much better, but I want to try to put the scent impression into words.
The fragrance is light and soft, with no flowers or blossoms that impose themselves, but rather a smooth harmony of them. The beginning makes me think of the lemon trees that all Italians have on their terraces, fresh, juicy peach, and pastel-colored blooms.
A wonderfully creamy base that slightly reminds me of sunscreen, but without coconut and Caribbean vibes.

Thank you, Hibernation, for this wonderful fragrance!

enchanted alleys, dreaming courtyards
During my strolls through Italian cities, I must have transformed into a different "me" beforehand.
It’s the only explanation for why I, a delicate blonde - albeit only during the day - wandered through picturesque old town alleys that were hardly frequented by tourists. I simply felt safe!
The watching and wondering, the fascination with something so foreign to me, made me forget all caution.
For my mom and part of my friend circle, it was unimaginable and surely a bit frightening when they saw through the photos where I had been wandering again.
And I already knew why I didn’t show them photos of particularly tranquil courtyards - which I entered quite naturally - it was better they didn’t know everything!

In one of these dreaming courtyards, something astonishing and completely unexpected happened.
In a winding old town alley, where old women still sat in front of their houses with their knitting and accompanied by their cats, and the floral decorations on the houses made one forget the laundry drying across the alley, a wrought-iron gate, which was open, beckoned me.
The adventurer in me "had to" go through there, and so I found myself in a courtyard whose aura still fascinates me today. I discovered a special idyll in the midst of an Italian city.
The masonry of the surrounding buildings was in very poor condition; in our country, such a thing would surely be a target for the wrecking ball.
But that was quickly forgotten: blooming plants climbed over these rough surfaces; on every windowsill stood pots and flower boxes with vibrantly blooming plants, and large tubs with oleander and palms offered not only shade. No, they also formed an almost complete "roof".
Welcome to the Mediterranean jungle, radiating a welcome coolness! I spun around like a little propeller: the desire to experience, see, and inhale everything was enormous!
Caught in this green dream, I was startled when I was greeted with a cheerful "Buon Giorno, Signora!": Oh, Mamma Mia! Where did that come from?
In a corner of this private botanical garden, almost hidden by leaves, flowers, and vines, stood a wooden table and several chairs. There sat a not-so-young but exceptionally beautiful woman with a cup of espresso and a journal that she had just set down.
She smiled radiantly with unpretentious friendliness and offered me a chair and - you won’t believe it! - an espresso! Genuine hospitality that left me in awe.
At that time, my Italian was sufficient for a casual conversation; so we spent more than an hour chatting: initially with espressos, later with a large pitcher of homemade lemonade!
From the impression, we could have been familiar friends.
I could have taken photos, but I forgot about that: I was living in a dream and enjoying every moment in this courtyard, in this company!

What exactly about "Vicolo Fiori" brings this memory back to life so vividly, I do not know.
During the first testing, it was a déjà vu of a special kind; the images intertwined:
I was wandering again through flower-filled alleys and eventually landed in this courtyard!

Bellflower and mandarin give this fragrance painting a girlishly delicate opening.
This bright and light impression is maintained for a long time by rather "watery" fragrance notes, such as melon, water lily, and lotus: "Vicolo Fiori" becomes fresh, yet still acquires an aromatic roundness.
The slightly bitter, wonderfully old-fashioned cyclamen and plenty of rose scent provide femininity in an unpretentious form.
The white peach fits in, being rather delicate and fine-fruity; ylang-ylang weaves everything into golden nets.
Thus, a veil of fragrance full of grace is created.
The components of the base note were also dosed for this flower alley full of feeling and without powerful peaks up or down.
Musk and vanilla are present but appear reserved and therefore elegant.
Iris "powders" against the always somewhat omnipotent sandalwood; both meet in the middle - and that’s a good thing!
Amber finally lays the gold of the evening sun over this wonderfully fragrant alley and invites one to linger!

I gladly follow this invitation and spend some harmonious hours with this floral and very friendly scent lady.
A floral freshness that even at the end still retains a hint of virginity is a surprisingly delightful fragrance development.
I encounter rather idiosyncratic fragrance notes here that correspond very well with each other, bringing to life a simply beautiful fragrance creature.
This summer scent, which surrounds one in an uncomplicated and charming way, deserves attention.
"Vicolo Fiori" is not a spectacular fragrance; it is remarkable and lovable in its entirety!
This scent is an invitation to quiet enjoyment, to chatting, and to rediscovering lost or forgotten feelings.
Following this flower alley is worthwhile for anyone still open to the "little things" in life.

A wonderful scent!
Fresh, sunscreen, fine and elegant.
It could shine a bit more, but still lovely in summer.

Flowers? More like sunscreen! But a very fine, subtle one. Perfect for easing the winter blues. And completing the summer.

Wonderful light, uncomplicated floral freshness. Asian-inspired with a transparent green-aquatic character, but not fleeting. Nice.
