Oh, yes... Rajasthan. A fragrance which, by its name alone, indicates that the fragrance could possibly have an oriental scent. A look at the description of the fragrance confirms this, whereby descriptions of the fragrance usually look more ornate than that the fragrance actually smells :D
Rajasthan is supposed to be like an ode, and according to the description an ode to free and passionate femininity, which is supposed to work like a hypnotic and longing dance. One should think of artful Maharajah palaces whose splendour lasts for all eternity, like the breath of the earth and the energy of the desert. So... and now imagine a scent that smells like all this :DD
Admittedly, from a literary point of view the description sounds beautiful, romantic and even adventurous. But sometimes it's unfortunately the case that you feel the scent you smell very beautiful, but you don't necessarily get these pictures conjured up in your head. It's bad, though, if the description sounds great as above, but the scent is really just junk :D
Well, let's see what the Etro smells like! But the smell isn't scrap, so I can reassure you :)
The fragrance:
Whoa! That scent. I literally see the described Maharajah palaces before my eyes. Especially the palace of Pankot, beautifully decorated and magnificent looking. But my gaze wanders into the creepy basements of the palace, where Indiana Jones has just stolen the Sankara stones and is now running away, before the evil Mola Ram can rip his heart out, while the other palace visitors calmly eat their dinner, like soups with eyeballs or monkey brains on ice and... okay okay I'll stop already! :DD
Aaaaber: Maybe I haven't mentioned Indiana Jones for over 200-300 comments, so it was time again :DD
The fragrance, the real description of the fragrance:
For me, the fragrance begins with roses, sweet spicy pink pepper and a little lemon. The lemons are fresh at the beginning, but quickly move into the background, as the pink pepper in particular becomes somewhat stronger. I also smell amber, which is where most of the sweet notes come from. In addition there are general floral notes. Hmm... well, they're mimosas, but I don't recognize them 100%. Just when I thought that I had finally learned how mimosa smells in my commentary yesterday (Dolce & Gabbana Velvet Mimosa Bloom), I now have to learn that I still can't recognize it without a fragrance pyramid *sigh* :D
But in my defense, I must also say that it smells mainly like roses as far as the floral notes are concerned, and that the fragrance also radiates a strong sweetness, making other floral notes a little more difficult to sniff out at first. Well, with time the flowery notes become equal, and yes, the one note that is probably the mimosa, smells almost as intense as the roses.
Anyway, the fragrance remains flowery in the base with roses and mimosas and slightly sweet, mainly with amber, but now also with musk, with a residual hint of spicy notes and a large portion of powdery, gentle fragrances. A very beautiful and pleasant fragrance overall.
The Sillage and the shelf life:
The Sillage has turned out to be a little small for a sweetish scent. Okay, the scent can be smelled well at close range, but it quickly loses a bit of intensity, which is a pity, as always. A little more strength would certainly not have hurt, well, if necessary you can quickly give yourself a new spray shot :D
The shelf life is okay, six to eight hours and more you can smell the scent, but already after half the time it is weaker on the skin, so that at least others would have to get a little closer to smell it.
The bottle:
The bottle is rectangular and has rounded corners. As usual from many Etro flacons, this one is also quite colorful here by oriental looking, colorful patterns like a small work of art unusual and looks accordingly very beautiful. I also like the chrome-plated and beautifully decorated lid, which reminds me of elaborately crafted column capitals. Yes, the bottle is simply very beautiful.
Oh, I liked the smell. Very even, it smells really great, I don't find any disturbing note and it comes in a wonderful bottle. I think I should try more Etros and not walk past them carelessly, why I have always done this before... hmpf!
Aaaaber,... why is the scent actually marked as unisex? With all the floral notes and the more feminine sweet notes, the fragrance clearly smells like a women's fragrance to me. A beautiful, tasty, sweet, slightly fruity women's fragrance for not too cold days, so best for spring and summer, perhaps even on mild autumn days well usable. It is suitable for many occasions, whether in my spare time, at work or when going out, I think you always smell good with it. The Sillage could have been stronger just for going out, but okay, whatever, that's a problem that occurs with many fragrances...
In any case, Rajasthan is highly recommended if you like sweet scents with spicy and floral notes, especially roses, mimosa, amber, pink pepper and later a little musk.
Does he smell oriental now? Is something difficult to say, because sometimes it is not always immediately recognizable for me, how exactly a fragrance must really smell, in order to really be considered oriental. And does it smell like Indian Maharajah palaces? No, don't ask me that, or I'll start talking about Indiana Jones again.
Well, that's it from me again.
Well then... goodbye, Dr Jones, mu ha ha... um, wait, I meant have a nice evening :DD
