Lovely Spicy Surprise
Fan di Fendi pour homme Assoluto

This is a very surprising frag for me, as it wasn't what I anticipated, but blew me away with the quality and lovely scent. The initial spray is very spicy with sharp pink pepper a la the start of Gucci Pour Homme I, with cardamom instead of cedar. However, this opening as a whole is very reminiscent of Opium pour homme, very spicy and warm. While Opium has galangal-pepper, this has cardamom-pepper, but they are definitely spicy-oriental cousins.

The mid notes become apparent slowly, with the vetiver and oud taking center stage. Neither note is overpowering, and in fact perfectly intertwines with the base of opoponax and the cardamom top to make a rich and beautiful, but not overly heavy, scent. The addition of citrus (orange?) and tonka absolute helps to brighten and smooth the final product, imo. This phase lasts for a while, and is a definite wrist-sniffer when nobody's looking.

So, I got a sample of M7 Oud Absolu recently, and found it to be too stuffy, kind of old perfume powdery type. Now, i do not like powdery frags, so maybe thats whats not doing it for me. I'm sure some will have different opinions, as rabid as the M7 fans are, but I feel FdFA is similar in the drydown but far more wearable than M7OA. There are similar notes in both (Oud, Citrus, patchouli), but M7OA is seemingly linear, while FdFA develops into a non powdery version of the former- after a spicy introduction- which I believe works perfectly.

I thought this would be very heavy, but I feel its light for the notes it carries, enough to be worn year round. I must say, however, that I consider myself a light sprayer, rarely if ever going over 3 sprays, and 1-2 for reapply 6+ hours later.

I love it and bought a large bottle after sampling. It's definitely in my top 10, take that for what its worth.

Scent- 9/10
Longevity- 7/10
Sillage- 7/10

This rocks!
This stuff rocks! Not outright oudy and just enough spice to make you feel nice and warm during the colder temps.

Good life, good projection and will not be confused for a unisex scent.
Oud note and no rose in sight, not a dirty oud and not in your face.

Not niche but not to be taken lightly, it is a well adjusted, well thought out smeller.

Italian Thor with a Silk Sledgehammer
You can find me among the small fan community of the original Fan di Fendi PH; I believe the fragrance deserves much more attention and higher sales, as it is on a similarly delicious level as the far more famous and popular The One by D&G and comparable in style. The Aqua version could confidently be tossed in the bin. Now, with Assoluto, we have the second flanker within a year; I hope they will take it down a notch this time. But I was super happy to see that the otherwise poorly stocked Douglas at Cologne Central Station is once again carrying these three Fendis for the Italian-modern man. Otherwise, you hardly see them live anymore; perhaps that will slowly change now. It would be nice for Fendi.

Assoluto has little in common with the original aside from the bottle and the name - apart from the small fact that both are absolute gems hidden quite deep in the fragrance ocean. Assoluto reminds me of a mix of the original, Hommage a L'Homme by Lalique, and Bentley Intense For Men. The scent is spicy, soft, has one of the softest oud accords ever, and also carries something potent within. At first, I had to chuckle when I saw that they brazenly added "Absolue" behind every second ingredient in the fragrance pyramid - that's one way to live up to your name. But somehow, the scent does come across as absolutely - absolutely skillful, penetrating, perfectly woven, and well thought out. A perfect Italian gentleman, on the verge of diving into the nightlife of the eternal city.

Bottle: robust, beautiful, unfortunately even more beautiful in the pictures. Perfect sprayer.
Sillage: the first impression is misleading - for this type and this name, almost a wallflower.
Longevity: point deduction here as well - 5-6 hours is weak, not just for Assolutos.

In terms of scent, it's almost a straight 10 and a delight even for the most spoiled senses, worthy of double and triple praise in this price range. Unfortunately, it somewhat undermines its own standing with the weak performance...

Fendi "2"
Man, how long did I sit in front of the bottle image, wondering why there’s a "2" on it... and looked everywhere to see if there is a Fendi "1"... no luck... I think it was after the third beer that I realized it’s actually supposed to be an "F" and "E"... yeah, the Swabians just take a bit longer, and you rarely encounter Fendi men's fragrances in perfumeries.

Due to the great reviews, the gigantic-looking bottles (only in the pictures!) and the incredibly low price online of €36 (at the online perfumery that fills the entire threads), I ordered it blind. Blind purchases usually go wrong for me... but here, I am exceptionally very satisfied! The reviews in the individual areas also match my perception very well this time!
Assoluto starts for 1-2 minutes with a citrus note, not like a freshly cut lemon... but more like a lemon that has been sitting on the fruit bowl for 1-2 weeks... not musty... but also not zesty-green. Immediately, the sweet-spicy cardamom joins in... a note that I always really like. Pepper and sage are also immediately present... this reminded me a bit of Journey by Amouage. After 10 minutes, a note comes in that at first reminds me of leather... but then reveals itself as patchouli... I hadn’t encountered this type of patchouli before... but I must say that I usually avoid this note out of principle. Very quickly, the notes blend into a very beautiful aromatic spice carpet... with bright ethereal sides (citrus, sage) and as a nice contrast, also dark sides (patchouli, oud)... especially oud is used here very subtly but still noticeable... it gives it a nice depth... but it dissolves the super beautiful top note way too quickly... which is actually the most beautiful phase of the fragrance... the heart note with the spices is very nice and pleasant but noticeably flattens compared to the top note... after 2-3 hours, the fragrance turns significantly into a more beautiful phase... here, tonka shows itself very nicely... and the citrus note also makes another appearance... which is very rare in the base note.
The longevity is not outstanding with a maximum of 5-6 hours... especially for an Assoluto... the sillage is only strong in the first hour... after that, it does decrease significantly... without wanting to say it’s skin-close. Assoluto is wonderfully versatile... especially due to the restrained sillage, it is very suitable for the office... and fits perfectly into the season without wanting to call it a winter or Christmas fragrance... except in the height of summer, it works all the time.

Not the ultimate mega hit, but solid and an absolutely beautiful fragrance... especially at this price-performance ratio... because it smells very high-quality and noble... it can stay! :-)

A Perfect Harmony
Today I wanted to take a moment to follow up on our colleague Leimbacher. He has described the fragrance,
like over 1000 other fragrances, perfectly.

So, wonderful weather today, into the car and off to the perfumery in Leipzig at the
train station. 3 Fendi fragrances on the table, 2 of them unfortunately missed the mark, but the
Assoluto is quite specific. Even the ingredient list of its composition reads like a Who's Who.

Perfect dosage and a spice mix of pepper and light cardamom play the
overture. Patchouli, vetiver, and sage sit in the middle of the orchestra, oud has
almost fallen into the pit, but still perceptibly runs through the entire
symphony. The tonka bean makes a bit of a bang, but it doesn't play the first
fiddle.

It is the entire blend that transports me into a perfect soundscape. Rarely have I
perceived a fragrance note with such perfection. After 5 hours, I gladly spray on more, what’s the use of the bottle?

I blind bought a decanted sample that arrived last week and it really wowed me with scent and performance. Just like Bentley for Men Intense

Fendi should be more trendy. It's an absolutely amazing scent. Many are probably glad it doesn't cost around €130.

This fragrance deserves much more attention.
It falls into the "Hidden Gems" category for me.
Try it while it's still available!

This is solid mainstream! Herb-sweet, slightly fresh leather. Synthetic, but overall harmonious. Good, and: unfortunately discontinued.

Extreme contrast today: this masculine, spicy scent with a very feminine chiffon dress. But it worked!

Warmer, more mature cardamom seducer in Italian style. More interesting than the norm. I like it right away.
