PATIENCE

To me, lavender can be cloying and a bit too sweet, of course the ratio/amount and type of lavender has a lot to do with that.

I love Puig's Agua Lavanda, the citric muskiness of it.

This, at first application, seems like too much, but it is different, more than lavender. This is unique!

Why is my review titled "PATIENCE"?
Give this three to four hours, then..........boom, beautiful drydown! Is it the cashmere woods, sage?

I'm not crazy about the start but this finished rather well.

All hail the Ferrari line...

Jeez... I really like these Ferrari ones! This house is really proving that it is possible to bring high quality scents to the masses for an extremely reasonable price!
What I especially appreciate with this line is that we all get a chance to try/own frags with certain notes/feels that more often are common in nieche world. Don’t get me wrong, these are most likely to be crowd pleasers. They are just a bit different than your avarege Dylan Blue, YsL Y, Blue de Chanel, Azzaro Chrom etc.
These are blended more the way a nieche frag is, just in a more mass pleasing way and the offer a distinct note in every release.

With that said, this one starts a beautiful Lavender note that’ll stick with you all the way (more or less). There will also be a sweet (not clawing sweet) Vanilla/Tonka mix after an hour that will carry this warm yet fresh scent forward. Some times I get a feel of ambroxan although this note is not listed.

All in all, in my opinion Bright Neroli and Radiant Bergamot (I do not own noble fig... yet)are both more zesty and uplifting than this one. But this is just as gorgeous and in my world as certain! Spring, summer, fall... work, home or at the mall.. you can easily rock ‘em all!

I'll tell you straight to your face, unfortunately, I don't smell lavender

Lavender is a great herb
That often blows me away
It smells quite strong and really nice
In some fragrances, it also seems dull.
But at Ferrari, it's hidden
I search for it, wide awake
It gradually becomes bland for me
I can't find it, oh what a shame.

It starts citrusy and spiced
The top note feels very short
Immediately, wood mixes in
But it can't really be real.
Artificially sweet, it then continues
Vanilla doesn't cheer me up here
Along with a light powdery note
But that doesn't threaten me.

The whole thing seems strange to me
Maybe I'll ask in the lab
Where all the notes come from
They don't harmonize together.
It feels quite artificial and not fine
My nose calls out, "Must this be?"
It clings tightly to my skin
They really dared something here.

I don't find the scent really fresh
But it doesn't smell like fish either
Yet overall, it feels very dull
In my head, it goes thump-thump.
The scent is unfortunately a bit confused
Maybe they were a bit off while creating it
It's a big jumble
Perhaps coriander is still missing

I'm waiting for the lavender
But unfortunately, it doesn't come
Did they perhaps forget it?
Did the perfumer get stressed?
The longevity is impeccable
For some fragrances, it would be fabulous
I don't find it quite so nice here
Because I can't get used to it.

Pure Lavender is supposed to be the name of the scent
But I won't be fooled
Without lavender, it's just Pure
I'll just stay stubborn about it
I was looking forward to testing the scent

Maybe someday. No, not really.

Ah. A modern lavender freshie. Especially since this Pure series from Ferrari is of decent quality. It could have been so nice! But it's not. The reason is quickly told:

The opening is quite promising. Citrus and lavender go well together, not too heavy and easy to wear. But then it rapidly goes downhill. After a short time, this modern sharpness disappears and what remains is: lavender. And with the temperament of a half cheese roll. Without pickles.

That's not really bad or 'nasty', but incredibly boring. And in this boredom, the lavender also develops a certain annoying factor. Ah, I'll keep it short and painless: I don't want to smell like a middle-aged man in a sweater vest after mom's ironing water type of lavender dream. Not now. Never. Thank you.

Sweet-smooth Ferrari from Provence....

The fragrances of car brands often have a bad reputation, which unfortunately is confirmed by the abundance of scents. However, there are also some really good exceptions.

This one, in my opinion, is only partially successful. In the opening, the Provençal lavender note reminds me of Pour un homme de Caron, but it is already noticeably softer and sweeter here.
While PuhdC initially starts with a citrus-sharp lavender note, here the citrus part seems to quickly transition into the heart note, with only a hint of cardamom briefly detectable.

The lavender increasingly disappears behind the sage after a short time and is almost immediately accompanied by vanilla from the very start of the fragrance. Together with patchouli, the scent becomes very sweet after a while, and it is at this point that Ferrari Pure Lavender clearly differs from Caron. While the latter glides into a multifaceted smooth vanilla note, the Ferrari simply becomes very, very sweet and quite synthetic, which gives me a headache after some time. I can't quite perceive the cashmere wood, but I don't want to doubt that it is present in the base note's background.

While the opening of the fragrance is very promising, I agree with Ajlen that the further development of the scent is disappointing. Overall, the longevity is quite good at 8 hours for me, but unfortunately, the beautiful opening fades away too quickly.
For me, unfortunately, not a candidate for the collection; however, if you like sweet or even gourmand scents and don't mind a certain level of synthetics, you should definitely give this one a try.
