Italian All The Way....

To The Finish Line.

This is another rare instance, like Jaguar Gold Edition, where car manufacturers release stellar, long lasting fragrances and sell them for pennies. Thank You Ferrari.

This is Similar to Azarro Visit and Bella Notte by Cerruti---Only musky up front--initially almost oudy and pungent in character with some spices for flair, then settling down to woods, powders and a vanilla coconut that hums and lacks alot of sweetness. No doubt, it's Italian, with that Felce Azzura, musky, powdery vibe going on.

Like driving a Ferrari, this fragrance is an exhilarating experience. I am imagining, one swipe from a jungle oudh would send this Ferrari into redline and go from silver to take the gold, no doubt.

It is discontinued and relatively pricier now, but well worth the price if you can still get it under a $100.00.

50 shades of silver

To begin with, at the moment I'm writing this review, I've got three Ferrari Essence collection scents, namely Oud, Leather, and Vetiver, and I am in love with them all. Nonetheless, I've been so skeptical about Silver for too long now, given that I'm not too fond of anything smelling like tropical coconut, for instance, bath foam, body milk, or sunscreen cream. That sweet and mellow odor you can find in pina colada makes me sick after a few minutes.
But I've read too many positive reviews about FSE. Considering the excellent experience I've had with the other Ferrari scents, I've ultimately decided to give it a try, taking a chance on the very cheap original bottle I've found on eBay for nearly 24€.

Oh, man! Silver Essence is a green - woody – spicy – oriental fragrance, fusing silver notes with sage, thyme, and grey pepper. That's the fresh green side that gives a hint of amenity. From the very beginning, I notice the presence of black coconut. Through an exciting combination to start with the other notes, and fortunately not sweet at all, a good one, dark and herbal, similar to the milk you get when crashing a brown nut or you smell the grated coconut. It's well done!

Very soon, a mix of cinnamon and nutmeg pops up, offering the spicy side, which gives a hint of lustiness.
At this point, the coconut starts to move in the back. Yet, the spices come forth with the birch and a bit of a smokiness, a kind of incense vibe. The heart is allegedly the most enjoyable phase as there are a lot of elements at play with this metallic "silver" vibe running throughout. The silver birch accord is the cornerstone of the composition intensified by hot and cold spices. At this stage, the scent reveals its leathery-smoky facet, not mild, somewhat harsh, wild, and masculine. I reckon the wildness and dirtiness come from the concoction of patchouli and lavender with its silver seeds just after the blossom.

Finally, the trail reveals itself in an intriguing combination of frankincense and mineral musk. Ainìt the white and mild musk, preferably real mineral one you could find in Terre d'Hermès Eau de Toilette, a vegetable, and mineral juice, made without animal by-products or musk, sustained by the elegance of cedar and guaiac woods.

To me, Silver Essence has a male character with a very balanced aroma, and honestly, I cannot recall any other scent I have in my collection that smells similar to this. It's a fall/winter scent and a reasonably good buy for the price. If you spray consciously, it is suitable for working days and evenings; longevity is excellent 8 to 10 hours, while sillage goes not far from your arms. The main notes to my nose are dark coconut, leather birch tar, smoky incense, and creamy cedar.

Don't be shy. Go and test it if you have a chance, and you won't regret it!

Higher level

Ferrari Silver Essence is another great surprise from this house, along with Essence Oud and Essence Musk.

Looks like Ferrari wants to climb to a higher level in fragrance market with these newest releases. There's no comparision with older releases: the new ones smells much more natural and better balanced.

Silver Essence is a wonderful coconut based fragrance, surrounded by a round woody note and some spices.

The drydown is absolutely great, with lots of sillage and a heavy projection. It lasts about 10 hours on my dry skin.

Definetely worth sampling, and why not buying?

The Distinctive Softness

Silver Essence begins invigoratingly ethereal - herbal, but also aromatic - sweet - spicy and powerfully bitter.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to our perfume "Honk1510" for the sample.

At first, one can perceive an intense ethereal, slightly herbal note that gives the top note a refreshing quality and comes from silver sage.

At the same time, the sage is beautifully enlivened - peppy, underscored by grey pepper, which ensures that the top note acquires uplifting properties and is crafted in such a way that one need not fear sneezing fits.

These two notes are enveloped by a fine aromatic and sweet - spicy facet, which provides a pleasant substance and comes from the interplay of nutmeg with cinnamon.

In the background, a strong bitter note is perceptible, which gives the top note a certain something and comes from thyme.

This constellation is noticeable on my skin for 20 minutes before the heart note unfolds.

Now a very clear woody note is perceptible, which gives the fragrance a wonderful distinctive dynamism and stems from the white birch accord.

At the same time, a fine Mediterranean, slightly herbal nuance is noticeable, which merges with the white birch accord into a whole and is responsible for giving the heart note a beautiful presence, thanks to lavender.

These two notes are enveloped by a lovely, slightly exotic powdery creaminess of coconut powder, which bestows a beautifully attractive softness to the fragrance.

The heart note is perceptible on my skin for 3 hours before the base asserts itself.

Now a clear note is present, which brings a certain matte aura and comes from mineral musk.

There is also a slightly woody note that appears a bit creaky, subtly smoky - sweet, and gives the base a wonderful aura, stemming from Atlas cedar.

In the very background, a fine, bright balsamic nuance of frankincense is perceptible, which provides a relaxed conclusion.

Silver Essence is a beautiful companion in the spring, summer, and autumn months for gentlemen over 30 who are in search of a clear woody, distinctive, yet soft fragrance.

Overall, the fragrance lasts 6 hours on my skin.

The sillage is designed from the start to be clearly perceived at a three-quarter arm's length, and this is maintained for 3.5 hours before it gradually diminishes, until the fragrance finally fades completely.
