A sweet sunrise mocktail / Crush type of scent
Boyfriend got me the full bottle of this perfume for our 1st year anniversary and because I fell again for the collab between Floral Street and the Van Gogh museum. I was curious to see how they'd interpret Sunflowers (1888-1889) in perfume form.
Sunflower Pop is almost nothing like its name. It has nothing to do with the word ''sunflower'' and everything to do with ''pop''. Why? It's a sweet, refreshing and uplifting mocktail drink. Reminiscent of a Crush beverage or a citrusy sweet sunrise mocktail, it has this summer-sippin'-drink vibe. The beginning starts out citrusy and fruity, with the passion fruit being a strong contender on my skin. The bellini accord soon rises up, giving the perfume a fizzy aspect that I enjoyed more than I thought. Florals are almost nowhere to be seen, although I suspect they're here to lend a soft sweetness and to stop everything from becoming too sickly sticky sweet (try saying that a few times, ha!). Amber, musk and honey round everything up with an enticing sweet warmth that complements everything well.
A lovely blended juicy perfume fit for spring and summer. The only thing that's negative to me is the fact that it's almost a skin scent. I didn't smell it projecting out (which is a bit sad given how lovely it is) although it stuck on my skin for awhile. It's thus an inoffensive perfume you can overspray without suffocating people around you!
