Yes, but.......
When I was at Harrods recently, I would have loved to move into the perfume department, so of course I had to take the opportunity to test the "H - The Exclusive Parfum".
The bottle is beautiful, it catches the eye, I like this color combination of gold and light green.
The fresh, fruity opening, which is citrusy but not cleaning-product lemony, seamlessly transitions from the very fruity berry-peach duet into a floral bouquet of orange blossoms and jasmine. The gardenia and rose are merely there as support, without stepping into the foreground. Gradually, the precious woods also reveal themselves, without falling apart for me as individual components. A beautifully composed fragrance up to this point, which actually makes me consider whether I should surprise my wallet with an impulsive purchase. But the daughter of a mother is not really an impulse buyer, and I decide to enjoy this beautiful floral-woody dream for the rest of the evening, perhaps to go back to Harrods the next day.
The next morning (yes, the longevity is indeed good!) I am enveloped by a penetrating, overpowering vanilla scent! I have a suffocating vision of "vanilla kiss" deodorant from long ago in my nose, I look at my daughter reproachfully, just about to start complaining indignantly, when I realize: this artificial, dull vanilla sweetness is coming from my forearm, which the lady at the Roja stand had so generously sprayed the day before! Oh no, where was the floral abundance, where were the woods? Where was the patchouli? Well, most perfumes don’t last until the next morning, but couldn’t the woods have taken the old vanilla with them when they left?!
And what have I learned from this? Before making impulsive purchases in this price range, it's best to sleep on it for at least one night, which saves both the wallet and the olfactory cells.
