Colonial Club Legend Jeanne Arthes 2015

It's a lot of pepper mixed with leather and a citrusy vibe (strange mixture, right?). The citrus notes add some modernity, but despite this we are facing a hidden gem. It is well mixed and never seems generic in my humble opinion.

Its longevity is average, but its presentation exceeds the price (great bottle and color of the juice). It has a vibration similar to Terre d'Hermès, but it is a little softer than the previous one.

It seems to me a good option to use in the office during the transition from summer to autumn and for leisure in the beginning of spring. I don't consider it unisex (it is, without a doubt, very masculine), but maybe, some women like to take a chance!

First of all: I love TdH. The DNA is unique to me. There are very good dupes. Fattan, for example, comes very close. This one is even a bit fruitier in the top note, yes juicier, and the longevity is also enormous.
But this here... I thought for 6 € on sale you can't go wrong. Even that is too expensive...
When I saw the fragrance pyramid and read your reviews and statements, I had certain expectations.
The bottle is okay. A simple glass cylinder with a sticker. On it, a golden plastic cap with a spray head. Decorated with a black rubber ring. For protection, a clear acrylic cap.
After the first spray, the realization... yes. TdH! But not great... somehow lemon chemical soda.
I waited a bit. The alcohol remained present for a long time. It really smells like Fanta lemon with cheap vodka the next morning.
After twenty minutes, a very faint trace of vetiver and a bit more of the geranium. But not like the blooming plant, rather like when you break a stem and smell it.
That's it... nothing more comes. It lasts about an hour and a half and disappears as quietly as it came.

That affordable fragrances can smell SOOO good has already been proven by several of them. And for just about 13 euros per 100 ml, you really can't go wrong. Especially when there are equal alternatives to more expensive perfumes. Indeed, one can speak of a "scent twin" of "Terre D'Hermes." This one just has more pepper. But even without emphasizing that, "Colonial Club Legend" is a fresh-earthy-woody-grassy representative of the highest quality. It reminds one of French landscapes, perhaps Provence, in autumn. Maccie, alternating with grassland, fresh earth, and cork oak forest. Especially the "leather note" is characterized by birch tar, which is complemented by soft mosses and patchouli. The vetiver reminds one of ripe grasses, from which beautiful dried bouquets can be made. There are many varieties of these, all with delicate bristles, awns, and fronds. They still smell fresh and somewhat "hay-like" even when dried.
Rose geranium adds a touch of fresh floral notes, which further enhances the impression of cultivated landscape.
I shouldn't be advertising, but I do it anyway. Anyone who has a Galeria Karstadt nearby should browse through the affordable fragrances there... and will usually find something.
