Glowing
Very nice. Smooth and creamy. A "dreamy" scent. On my skin the vanilla really stands out and I can't help but like it. This is one you can't stop sniffing!

O You Blessed Cinnamon-Spiced Woodiness
From the range of fragrances by Jennifer Lopez, I only know the classic Glow. I have read that Glowing is the evolution of this debut. However, I find Glowing to be completely different. In an interview with Ms. Lopez, she mentions that she likes soapy, clean scents. Glow definitely fits that description: very clean, very bright. And a bit soapy, which I don’t like, so Glow had no chance with me. Glowing is said to be darker; she calls it "new-yorky." Hmm. Well, I can confirm the darker aspect, but being unfamiliar with the metropolis on the Atlantic, I have to pass on the latter adjective.

Right from the start, Glowing is warm, friendly, and spicy. The opening features fruity notes that have an orangey touch; I’m guessing mainly mandarin. It then moves into floral territory with orange blossom and a cinnamon note. The spiciness comes from the cassia flower, which is also known as cinnamon flower due to its scent. This gives the whole fragrance a delicious, spicy-gourmand quality. At times, a slight coconut-like note emerges, making Glowing remind me a bit of Estée Lauder's Sensuous Nude. This phase in the scent's progression lasts for quite a while, after which Glowing transforms into a truly beautiful woodiness that I only know from L'Heure bleue! Glowing never becomes soapy at any point.

In the USA, the fragrance was launched in spring. Now I’m trying to imagine the scent in warmer temperatures and must say that I actually find our current late autumn-winter season more fitting. Whether and when I will wear the fragrance in spring and summer remains to be seen…

Glowing has good longevity and develops a subtle but noticeable sillage. I’m currently wearing it in the reading room and at the office because the scent definitely allows for a friendly coexistence with colleagues and fellow humans. And I can easily imagine it as a unisex model for men who also enjoy gourmand and spicy scents.

I find the name "Glowing" beautiful, but not necessarily very accurate: I don’t really think of something glowing, even though the fragrance definitely radiates something warm.

Regarding the packaging, it should be noted that the 50ml and 75ml bottles briefly light up blue when the spray head is activated (see above). In the perfume store, I held the 50ml bottle in my hand. I find the glowing effect a bit silly, but younger people might like this effect. On the other hand, it might also be practical: during power outages, on camping trips, or even in the stadium at the next concert, one could do without the silly lighter and not burn their fingers. Or it could help guide rescue helicopters in difficult terrain during emergencies.

But let’s set the packaging aside: I definitely like the content of the bottle!

fallen for it
Today, I headed to Rossi with the firm intention of getting Pleats Please.
I sprayed it on again and nodded joyfully.

However, the genuinely enthusiastic saleswoman advised me, with honest excitement, to also try a spritz of "Glowing".

Since I have a weakness for JLo fragrances, I gladly let myself be persuaded.
And, what can I say, my nose took the lead and stuck to it.
I’m not usually one to "fall" for things, but the citrusy bergamot, paired with the green, bitter cypress, wrapped me around its finger.
The sunny orange blossom further enhances the Mediterranean impression.
Sandalwood and patchouli, dusted with a hint of pepper, give a spicy-woody note.
I rushed through the store and held my wrists under my husband’s nose, who looked bewildered.
He decisively pointed to "Glowing".
Grateful for the decision-making help, JLo found its way into my bag.

"Pleats" will have to "Please" wait a bit longer - until the next shopping trip.

First Blind Buy
Your comments made me curious, and since there was a Douglas Sale, I thought I couldn't go wrong.

At home, when I applied it, I wasn't sure if it was really worth it.

It starts off quite sharp and spicy. I immediately notice mandarins, but they are not sweet. Overall, it smells cinnamon-like and herbaceous fruity. After half an hour, I enjoy the scent, with my nose glued to my wrist. Later, the fragrance becomes softer and more enveloping.

I find it fits well with the current season. All day long, I feel pleasantly refreshed, yet it is also a very feminine scent.

I don't perceive the longevity as very strong. After about six hours, I can only smell it faintly. It is ideal for everyday wear and work, but too quiet for going out.

My fiancé also enjoys smelling it on me, as he is not a fan of sweet perfumes.

Worn at work, a colleague poked her head into the office and said it smelled like freshly baked rolls... it's always interesting how scents are perceived. :)

I must correct the longevity: it withstands a long workday, including overtime, with flying colors.

It shines in the bottle
Yes, Ms. Lopez has been in the business for a long time. Her first fragrance was called "Glow" and was released in 2002, the fragrance from 2012 is called "Glowing" and is supposedly meant to connect to "Glow." A "clean scent" (similar to "Glow") is said to be "Glowing." Well, it's not bad. Quite a bit of coconut, a little musk. Banale and quickly faded. When sprayed, it shines in the bottle. Wow!

Calice Becker created a fresh coconut scent here, which doesn't seem as successful as "Glow." The shine here is created electronically.

The freshness fades and reveals a warm-spicy creaminess. Subtle flowers land on a sandy sweet base. Best "star scent" ever.

Morning-fresh damp forest air - light meadow scents waft nearby from the green earth. The morning hour has gold in its mouth!

Amber & Moschus turn an innocent clean bear into an unbearably animalistic silage monster. What a shame!

Beautifully creamy, with a nice counterbalance from the cypress. Unfortunately, it's a bit too sweet for me.
