Not so glamourous, and not so lovable
One word of advice, avoid watching the fragrance commercial prior to testing Love & Glamour. Its cheesiness is enough to turn anyone away.

In regards to how Love & Glamour actually smells, it's not bad but it's not great either. It leaves much to be desired. It's very fruity and clean at first, somewhat like the scent of shampoo or Spring inspired laundry powder.

The heart takes on an interesting watery lotus scent and the jasmine tends to feel like bucket-loads of white blossoms hitting your skin. I think the floral accords and fruity notes clash a little too loudly, hence the reason why I feel rather overwhelmed wearing this.

In some ways, Love & Glamour is inoffensive, that is, if you don't over-apply. I just have a problem with it being quite bland and boring. I find this fragrance very pale and generic.

The lasting strength is not bad, neither is the sillage which leaves quite a nice trail. The drydown is mostly musk with left-over white florals lingering in the background. Personally, Love & Glamour doesn't work for me. Live was a far better fruity floral than Love & Glamour ever was.

Britney's Believe Without Personality Or Patchouli
Originally reviewed on July 19, 2012:

I know there are "celebuscent" naysayers who turn a stuffed nostril on all that are endorsed by celebrities. I am not one of the naysayers. Even if I despised Jennifer Lopez, I cannot imagine her donning a white lab coat, tinkering with Iso-E-Super and other extracts, and debating the finer points of vintage oakmoss with Gabriela Chelariu as they collaborated on Glow After Dark. At best, I would suppose J. Lo gives a vague description of her dream perfume and, at the end of the creation process, gives a thumbs up or down. So my endorsement or rejection of a "celebuscent" is unrelated to my feelings for said celebrity. I am all about what’s in the bottle. (2023 me wants to know if that disclaimer is over or not? We good? Okay!)

Say what you will about any of Jennifer Lopez’s fragrances, they all have one common trait that sets them apart from all other "celebuscents": longevity. I like most of J. Lo’s offerings—heck, Miami Glow is a favorite of mine. Love & Glamour does not garner that kind of adoration from me but I do like it a lot. It’s thick with guava and a pinch of sandalwood here and a sprinkling of water lily and musk there. Really, it’s guava juice. I love tropical fruits so it’s a win for me. To smell it, one would think it would be a fleeting fancy of a fruit cocktail but, like most J. Lo offerings, it has some heavy-duty endurance. I find this particular scent to be great for the unforgiving heat and humidity that’s been plaguing Southern California. Lately, it has earnestly won me over. There is no such thing as a ‘safe blind-buy’ but I do believe tropical fruit/guava lovers will not be disappointed with L&G.

Updated thoughts on August 9, 2023:

I received a bottle of Love and Glamour from a corporate executive who wanted to thank me for doing my job, being a low level cosmetics support manager at a few Macy's counters. I thought it was out of pure benevolence but someone told someone else at the executive level that I loved writing perfume reviews online. So, positive free press? Goodness, I was so naïve. It doesn't matter. I still got a free bottle out of the deal, so there's that perk. Just know the thoughts above were honest, even if I didn't make the connection that a free bottle would lead to free positive word-of-mouth endorsements.

It just hit me: this was Believe without the heavy patchouli, which gave Believe its personality and made it interesting. I was just beyond the targeted age demographic when I tried this. I still enjoyed it. It was a simple summery guava perfume that had lasting power. For the price point they were requesting, it was kind of absurd. For a period of time, it was found at discounters for a great price, and that price point was just right. I would go on to discover other prestige fruity florals (Champs-Élysées Eau de Toilette, I'm looking at you) and niche offerings (ahem, Traversée du Bosphore, ahem), which would make Love and Glamour pale in comparison. I'd eventually pass this along in a swap at some point and never look to replace it.

It's a divine scent if you love guava and can find a bottle for less than $20. If you cannot answer yes to both of those conditions, don't bother. I assume it has been discontinued, hence the rising prices on eBay. That's no excuse to spend more than $20USD for this. Anything above $20USD is swindling.

Fresh Little Fruit in Elegant Design
This week I discovered Love and Glamour as a new spring and summer fragrance for myself. I was at Müller and happened to see this beautiful bottle. I tried it and immediately took it with me. I actually didn't want to buy perfume spontaneously anymore. Because sometimes, after a while, I didn't like it anymore and then I got annoyed.
But luckily, it wasn't the case this time.
Love and Glamour is a fruity-floral scent. (I didn't even know it existed since 2010)
I thought for a while about what this scent reminded me of. At some point, the light bulb went off. The water lily gave me the clue. It's a mix between "Laura" by Laura Biagiotti and "Be Delicious" by DKNY. Perhaps in a slightly milder form. Of course, I had to check that right away and lo and behold. The ingredients are quite similar in both. It's not a scent for a big evening appearance as it is described, but for warm days and leisure as well as work, I find it great. I do like heavy scents too, but just not all the time. Who wants to get a headache at work? So for those who enjoy fresh, fruity, and floral scents, this fragrance will surely appeal to you.

Glamour
I love the scent just because of the name "LOVE AND GLAMOUR"!!
Both are such beautiful words with lovely meanings.
Then there's this great bottle, which has been very well chosen.

The fragrance is primarily fruity, with mandarin and nectarine standing out.
The other notes complement the fruitiness and have been balanced harmoniously.
In the base note, the notes melt together with an excess of sandalwood. All in all, it's beautifully soft yet still fresh.

I prefer to wear it in the summer or early autumn for occasions that require a bit more glamour :-)

However, the longevity is only mediocre...hmmm.

Sparkling Little Fruit
I am amazed that I found this fragrance still available in retail (the last copy in the store), as often you only see Glowing, Glow, or Live there.

There isn't too much to say about the scent. Shortly after spraying, it smells wonderfully of fresh mandarins; it does sting a bit in the nose, but that doesn't bother me, as this impression quickly fades.

The heart note doesn't take long to appear: the orange blossom is pleasantly fruity and becomes sparkling due to the aquatic nature of the water lily, while the orchid adds a slightly sweet touch. It's a bit soapy as well, which reminds me of just having taken a shower.

The citrusy, green, and slightly soapy character runs throughout the fragrance; in the base, the scent is a bit weaker, showing hardly any woodiness, rather slightly powdery.

I really like Love and Glamour, as it provides a little freshness kick on days when I struggle to get going in the morning and also fits well when I go to training after work. The combination of aquatic, floral, green, and fruity notes makes it a pleasant companion for everyday life.

The longevity is impressive; I perceive it for a good eight hours. However, the sillage is rather weak, which I don't find tragic. I am curious to see how the perfume performs when it finally gets warmer.

The bottle is very beautiful, fits well in the hand, and is definitely eye-catching :-). The packaging, on the other hand, is dreadful: golden speckles on a pink background.

As with some previous comments, I find it a mystery why the fragrance is named this way. It is by no means glamorous, and love would smell sensual to me. Nevertheless, I find the perfume feminine and somewhat stimulating, although my fiancé thinks the top note reminds him of dish soap...

Sweet, fruity, unobtrusive. A friendly scent for everyday wear, but unfortunately a bit too nice and generic.

Insignificant fragrance water, lacking uniqueness, longevity, or sillage - the usual floral-fruity, cute theme.
