Kappa delivers, BR540 Vibes for a tenner.
The opening is really weird, and I'll explain why.
When you first spray it, it is completely pale and not at all alcoholic. It is very reminiscent of a molecular fragrance that only unfolds on the skin. So the "disappointment" is definitely a deception, because after a few minutes it develops and is definitely very noticeable with a good sillage. The longevity is also surprisingly good, even the next day on the skin it was still slightly perceptible.
As I don't own Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum, I can't compare and describe the subtleties and differences exactly. But from memory, it is clearly BR540 for me. And it's a good version, it smells expensive. If I had smelled it on someone, I would say BR540. It is definitely wearable as a man, but you should spray it rather discreetly, especially because of the effect mentioned at the beginning. Apart from that, I was never the one who wanted or needed BR540, even though I'm generally not averse to the fragrance, but I really like it. And for the sale price of €9.99, you'd have to be stupid to like BR540 and not pick it up, even if it's just for layering. If someone had said to me: "Look, that's the new BR540 Superdupe for €70", I would have advised everyone to save some money and get that instead of the original. So, what do we want to discuss here? It's not a performance beast, but it performs well and for the price, Kappa has delivered here, albeit a blunt fake. It would never have occurred to me 15 years ago that this was even possible at such a price and in such quality.
A clear recommendation and I also like it better than the already good Belle Icone from Caline.
