I Don't Need a Prince by My Side to Be a Princess - Rose de Mai Kilian 2019

This version is a more romantic and spring-like interpretation of the original Princess. It smells like rose flavored marshmallows sprinkled with matcha. I can't detect any ginger though. Princess Rose de Mai is powdery, soft, a bit sweet and perfect for spring time.

Longevity is good (around 8 hours) and the sillage sits rather close - you'll be able to smell and enjoy yourself but likely won't distract anyone around.

I personally like this one so much that I have made it my 2020 spring signature.

...............the ambulance opened the door, the injured woman was pushed inside. It was not a pretty sight. After a marital dispute: the man complained about the many scents and bottles of his wife that were scattered everywhere, she lamented about his miserable football games on television............one word led to another, the woman raged............bottles flew, she threw the slippers.......then it ended in blood. Due to the noise of the shattering bottles and the screaming, the neighbors called the police, the emergency services were alerted............a battlefield of shattered glass awaited the responders and it smelled as if one were being showered from all sides with x fragrances in a perfumery, the television was still on.

A little later in the hospital...........the woman was still screaming and crying, but she did not remove her hand from her forehead, where a bottle was stuck.

"Doctor Kilian please to the emergency room, Doctor Kilian, please to the emergency room......... immediately!"

.........the woman had this beautiful bottle, a golden sphere that is usually placed in the cap.
That was the last bottle the man managed to grab before the police arrived, before the argument ended. However, the cap did not stay put and so the man rammed the bottle with the cap into his wife's forehead, just above the left eye socket, digging a furrow above the eyebrow .......... the nasty dent was not yet visible, but blood was dripping from the wound. The bottle was still firmly held in the woman's hands.............she simply would not let it go.

"Maaaaiiiiiin darling" one could hear her murmur the whole time.........."maaaaiiiiin darling", she contorted her face in pain. She was like possessed and could not be moved to let go of the bottle. Dr. Kilian had no choice, a dose of Hallol intravenously for the lady and she could finally be properly treated on her head.

Her last words were supposedly "I don't need a prince by my side to be a princess!"

Rose de Mai is sweet, through the marshmallows, rosy, a bit of ginger is also in there and maybe a few drops of tea. If you leave the cap off, the bottle looks like a bomb and so is the scent - loud!

The bottle looks great. High-quality and absolutely not run-of-the-mill. The golden ball is nice to look at and makes quite an impression. The title of the fragrance also caught my attention. I thought it would scream, "HERE I AM AND I DON'T NEED A PRINCE!"
Now to the scent. After reading the description, I was a bit skeptical. Normally, I prefer sweet scents. And then I saw ginger and tea. The description somehow intrigued me. A very lovely perfumer exchanged with me, so I held the fragrance in my hands a few days later. I unboxed it and was simply afraid of being disappointed.
The first spray. Unfortunately, it was just as I expected. I smelled it right away and immediately detected something fresh. Something that didn't fit at all into my collection. A few hours later I smelled it again, and suddenly it smelled sweet. But not sugary sweet, rather fresh-sweet. The floral note was just right, not too synthetic or too intense. I suddenly liked it a little. Maybe I just needed to get used to this freshness? Mh, I gave it another chance the next day to convince me. And I must say, it succeeded. It is fresh and sweet at the same time. Just right for everyday wear or work. It doesn't scream "Here I am," but is still noticeable and present. It holds surprisingly well on me. Confident, free, young. Just like a princess.
I really like it now as it can be worn daily. However, I would say it is better suited for spring/summer due to the freshness it offers. It may not have been love at first "sight," but definitely at second!

Yesterday was our anniversary and my husband was feeling generous.

He willingly followed me to Douglas and let me browse in peace.

Oh - Kilian is now on the shelves!

The long but beautiful name made me smile.

And the scent also reveals itself to be humorous and cheerful.

Fortunately, the ginger is not sharp, but harmoniously adapts to the full rose.
Then it becomes lovely with the sweet May rose - gently surrounded by a bright teen note.
The marshmallow note feels delicious and attractively playful.

Little Tina does not want to be picked up from the Douglas children's paradise.
No, she wants to ponder this interesting scent.

This transition from initial elegance to playfulness is quite unique.

But I'm still considering a purchase.
