The Untouchable
She strolls through the financial district of the Danube city of Vienna. Her new employer has abruptly transferred her from New York directly to Europe to establish the status quo of the company's ideology here.
It's just before noon when she passes the entrance of the Palais Hansen Kempinski at Schottenring 24. A man steps out of a dark limousine and crosses her path.
He is wearing a charcoal gray tailored suit, black sunglasses, his hair elegantly slicked to the side, and black monk straps made of calfskin.
As soon as he enters the hotel, she catches a scent that she knows very well from her time at Harvard Business School. The graduates gift.
It was not new to her, but she had never smelled it so far from home, and above all, it gave the man she met in front of the hotel an almost incredible aura.
Not that his presence didn't already seem dominant and aloof; his perfume made him equally untouchable and desirable.
She glances into the imposing entrance hall and pauses for a moment…
