Petits soleils d´or
I was long time after this juice, and just yesterday i found it on sale. As practically everything i ever liked from L´Occitane, is going to be retired forever and ever, so it is a good opportunity to get one or two bottles for the half price.
Immortelle de Corse is based in the fragance of Strawflower. A note that lately it has been used in another favourite , Serge Lutens Jeaux de Peau. It does have an enchanting unusual fragance. Rich, golden, syrupy... In the shop they told me it has a note of Brandy, and it certainly smells liquory.
Immortelle is a beautiful fragant flower that grows in the mediterranean landscapes, This dry yellow small flowers keep their shape and color giving the impression of being always fresh. The perfume captures a gleaming honey-like scent, over a pungent dry deep base, like a strong tea. Its sweetness is not a sugary confection, but a raw deep caramel, sometimes almost bitter, but mostly rich and luminous. The drydown is somehow more herbal and acrid, a bit musty, like roasted fenugreek. I also think of the smell of the cans of canned fruit.
Immortelle de Corse is a very unusual fragance i fell in love with immediately. It is marketed for women and men, but i see more a man wearing it, or a woman looking for a scent with a natural vibe, sweet, but not über-feminine. Its tea-liquor notes makes Immortelle a very sophisticated perfume, away from the mainstream, with a luminosity that is not a ray of sun in the eyes, but mostly light coming through a chunk of pure amber.
