No to the similarity with "SUN"
I would like to say a few words about this extremely successful Lidl bargain as well.

The headline says it all, but I would like to elaborate a bit: "Sun" is a "Boom! In da Face!" scent, not for the faint of heart, and to be honest, it can be a bit too much for me at times, even though it holds a high place on my All-Time-Favourites list.

This one comes across very gently and softly, it hugs you and wants to cuddle, unlike "Sun," which goes all out right away, without any preamble. Is this supposed to be a discount fragrance?! It surprises me just as much as its brother "Suddenly Diamonds"...

"Suddenly Summer" merges with my skin scent in a way that I have never experienced with "Sun." The Jil Sander fragrance has, as I said, this brutal scratchiness that is completely absent here.

Nothing is annoying here, nothing scratches, it simply wraps around you like a buttery soft silk scarf, nothing screams: Bam! Here I am, as "Sun" so wonderfully manages to do, which I do enjoy from time to time...
As I said, I love "Sun" and its effect, but that’s exactly why it’s not comparable to this one.

Regarding the scent: It’s not this irritating mishmash of so many indefinable, hard-to-detect components that fascinates me about "Sun."

On my skin, I mainly detect a beautiful sandalwood-vanilla combination, rounded off with some fruits (but I honestly can’t say which ones). Very subtly, but really only in the background, I think I can make out a passion flower, which actually made me briefly think of "Hypnose" in the heart note! That was what I was most pleased about, as I really like that fragrance!

The longevity is enormous for this price (4-5 hours), and the sillage is quite close to the body, but that’s okay, I don’t always need such "bombs."

I give a clear recommendation to test it, even to the many "Sun" haters!
And the price is, of course, unbeatable once again.

only €4.60!!! a really cheap scent....
Fueled by the advertising, I made my way to the mentioned discount store, ready to fall for the illusion of a super bargain at a rock-bottom price once again. €4.60 (in words: four euros sixty!!!!) that's practically a gift!!! Arriving at the shelf in joyful anticipation, of course, there are no scent strips available, maybe they never existed. No matter, let's spray it on my wrist, at €4.60 that's the least I can do. A wicked, wicked, wicked miscalculation! Hardly sprayed, I am enveloped by a penetrating, synthetic cloud. Individual ingredients are hardly detectable, it just goes on and on, no fading, no change, no scent evolution... it simply smells... it just smells... it smells like €4.60. I can't find any resemblance to Sun, which certainly doesn't rank among the masterpieces of perfumery either. Sun also smells very synthetic, but not so cheap, and with a certain skin chemistry, Sun even smells noble and refined. As I make my leftover purchases and pay at the checkout, I feel ashamed, because I feel, enveloped in this cheap scent attack, just like a budget bargain from the clearance bin. Only €4.60!!!! I wouldn't even take it if it were free!

Summer and Winter
With fragrances that resemble "Sun," it's a bit of a thing.
I have tested several, foremost the doppelgänger by Miro; which in turn is a twin of this fragrance here.

What the twins I have smelled have in common, including this one: I don't smell the fresh "Sun" top notes at all. They may be eluding me, as you might perceive them.

The base is almost identical: vanillic, creamy, slightly woody, synthetic.
Just like with "Soleil," I actually smell this base immediately here, and I have to practice patience for quite a while until a friendly - creamy, vanillic, but not too sweet scent impression develops, which I find very pleasant and cozy, in summer as well as in winter.

For a discount fragrance, I find it successful; they seem to have a knack for that.
Good longevity goes without saying.
Edit: 17.5.: Coffee visit from a friend: she liked it better than the good old "Sun" and took it with her. I still prefer the latter with the beautiful top notes.

Once sunscreen please...
While out in the Mother's Day gift frenzy, I stumbled upon Suddenly Summer. It was placed on an inconspicuous shelf next to the perennial favorite Suddenly Madame Glamour. Both fragrances came with matching shower gel for an unbeatable €1.99, wow!
Somehow, Suddenly Summer felt immediately familiar to me, but I couldn't quite place it. I sprayed it on first to see how it would develop. After a few rounds in Lidl, I really liked it. At first, it seemed a bit synthetic to me, it smelled a bit like orange soda, if you know what I mean... After a while, a cozy, creamy scent emerged, a bit like sunscreen... and then it hit me. Smells like: yep, Jil Sander Sun! Maybe not quite as intense and clear, but definitely wearable. Just right for warm days. The longevity is okay, about 4-5 hours.
Conclusion: I'm sticking with it. The Lidl fragrances are usually a hit! This one isn't quite the big star like Suddenly Madame Glamour, but it's definitely okay. I'm glad to have found it and can really recommend it to the "SunFans." Grab it while you can!!!
Hope you enjoyed my first comment, see you soon.

Of Summer, Sun, and Sunshine...
I just strolled through Lidl and rummaged through the "promotional fragrances" (which all failed on the first sniff). On my way to the checkout, there was a small display set up where I spotted even more testers - my cue ;)

The classic Suddenly Madame Glamour is already well-known, and it was presented there alongside the newer Suddenly Summer. I was very naive and thought that something in a similar bottle and on a display would be a very similar but summery scent. So, let the game begin!

It won't be new to you, but this is again an almost 1:1 dupe, namely to Sun. Unfortunately, it is not a summer version of the Coco clone.

Suddenly Summer is a bit stronger in sillage than Sun, but in terms of longevity, I think it is worse. Otherwise, it is a very good approximation of the original, a concoction of vanilla and cream, very sweet, very heavy, and soothing. The only thing is that I remember Sun as being a little "herbier"; not green-herbaceous, of course, but Sun always gives me the impression that I am sitting in a room with 12 grass-smoking teenagers. The joint character is missing in the Lidl version, which is a bit more chemical and sticky.

I would prefer not to have it on my wrist anymore because I simply can't stand Sun. However, the scent itself is not to blame for that.

I am curious about the comment from someone who loves Sun and/or can compare the fragrances directly... unfortunately, that is not possible for me at this point.
