No to the similarity with "SUN"
I would like to say a few words about this extremely successful Lidl bargain as well.
The headline says it all, but I would like to elaborate a bit: "Sun" is a "Boom! In da Face!" scent, not for the faint of heart, and to be honest, it can be a bit too much for me at times, even though it holds a high place on my All-Time-Favourites list.
This one comes across very gently and softly, it hugs you and wants to cuddle, unlike "Sun," which goes all out right away, without any preamble. Is this supposed to be a discount fragrance?! It surprises me just as much as its brother "Suddenly Diamonds"...
"Suddenly Summer" merges with my skin scent in a way that I have never experienced with "Sun." The Jil Sander fragrance has, as I said, this brutal scratchiness that is completely absent here.
Nothing is annoying here, nothing scratches, it simply wraps around you like a buttery soft silk scarf, nothing screams: Bam! Here I am, as "Sun" so wonderfully manages to do, which I do enjoy from time to time...
As I said, I love "Sun" and its effect, but that’s exactly why it’s not comparable to this one.
Regarding the scent: It’s not this irritating mishmash of so many indefinable, hard-to-detect components that fascinates me about "Sun."
On my skin, I mainly detect a beautiful sandalwood-vanilla combination, rounded off with some fruits (but I honestly can’t say which ones). Very subtly, but really only in the background, I think I can make out a passion flower, which actually made me briefly think of "Hypnose" in the heart note! That was what I was most pleased about, as I really like that fragrance!
The longevity is enormous for this price (4-5 hours), and the sillage is quite close to the body, but that’s okay, I don’t always need such "bombs."
I give a clear recommendation to test it, even to the many "Sun" haters!
And the price is, of course, unbeatable once again.
