It feels like a cheap perfume
I've had it for a few years. I wasn't much of a perfumer when I bought it. I still have three quarters of it left. It reminds me of other times. It feels like a cheap perfume. It's quite long-lasting and smells pretty good for the money I paid for it. I can't complain. I wouldn't repurchase it. I give it an 8 because it does enough for the price.

Summer Breeze with Fig
It has always been a principle of mine to give fragrances of all kinds a chance without prejudice, whether they cost 500 or 5 euros per bottle, and regardless of how they are packaged and named. Since I needed to choose a scent for a lady who enjoys smelling good but is decidedly indifferent to brands and images, and it was meant as an everyday gift in a large bag (and not as a formal present), it made sense to check out the perfume shelf during the weekend shopping at Lidl.

After several attempts with disappointing results, Mrs. von Spee and I struck gold with this fragrance, which, as is customary with Aldi and Lidl, saves on design, the assignment of a meaningful name, and everything else, costing less than (!) 5 euros.

Information is also scarce; I couldn't find a fragrance pyramid, nor a discreet hint about what this scent is a dupe of (I assume these fragrances are usually dupes of something). There are no pre-reviews here either, so I will attempt an ultra-blind short description:

Lovely presents itself as a (very likable) modern, fresh, cool, somewhat sporty scent. Those who expected floral notes, sweets, or romantic aids based on the (probably randomly chosen) name will be disappointed.

The use of synthetics is not shied away from, but since Cool Water, this is no longer treated as a capital crime. However, the freshness here feels less aquatic and more ozone-etheric. It reminds me of Mirage by Harry Lehmann. That particular scent, which I perceive as the summer heat fragrance par excellence, I really like, but unfortunately, hardly anyone knows it, so the cross-reference will not help most readers.

Additionally, there is a (likable) fruity note that I would boldly call fig, even though I don't put much stock in my blind testing skills. This is not, as I often find with fig scents (I am extremely picky about them), an overly soft mushy fig, sweet, broad, shapeless, leaning towards coconut, but rather a fresh, delicate, almost snow-dusted variety. This fits together very well overall.

You also can't complain about the performance. The projection is strong without being overwhelming, and the scent is still noticeably present the next morning after testing it in the evening.

I wouldn't have thought so!
A really good scent from a discount store? It feels strange, somehow wrong, if someone were to ask - should I say I wear Lidl perfume? Hm. But it is true, and I find this scent really great. It has something very fresh and sweet, but not too sweet, with a slightly powdery note, and my nose also detects a light scent reminiscent of a fizzy drink. You know, the fizzy drink you used to have as a child that sparkles beautifully on your tongue. I would say it’s a woodruff soda. The scent is very suitable for everyday wear and pleasing. My husband also thinks it’s great.

You can do it
When it comes to fragrances, I am quite picky. Nevertheless, I occasionally test cheap perfumes to see if there's a nice everyday scent among them. I don't like any of the La Rive fragrances at all, but the Lidl scents are different and lean more towards Câline perfumes. I tried this one today, and it starts off very citrusy, so I initially thought it was Boss The Scent. Only after half an hour did I think, wait a minute, this really reminds me of Jadore. For the price, it is also quite long-lasting. I will buy it because for €5 it is really well made, and you can especially wear it as an everyday scent in summer without smelling cheap.
I usually spray such inexpensive fragrances on my clothes, so to speak, as a substitute for a nicely scented fabric softener, since I hardly ever use fabric softener. Nice-smelling laundry is also something delightful :)

Little Cousin
Even though the name is different, some things cannot deny the family resemblance. This applies to people, as well as in the case of fragrances. Generally, I approach the perfumes at Lidl with caution. Especially when La Rive is listed as the manufacturer. But Lidl seems to have moved on from this brand, as a different manufacturer is mentioned.

Now, in my regular store, the cosmetics section is an extension of the checkout. The other day, the line was quite long and stretched all the way to the fragrances. The lady in front of me grabbed Lovely, and a cloud reminiscent of J'adore wafted through the store. That was a pleasant surprise, and I didn't expect it. I had to test the fragrance as well, and it ended up in my basket alongside potatoes and butter.

The opening is fresh, citrusy, and a hint salty like sea air. It shouldn't be there, but that's what I smelled. Later on, it becomes floral and rounded like the big cousin. The dry down is a bit powdery, and all in all, it's a lovely scent. Unobtrusive and suitable for any occasion. However, I find that Joyus bears more resemblance to J'adore. The longevity is also quite decent.

The bottle is simple, handy, and suitable for a handbag. Price/performance is more than excellent.

a new name and packaging for the old Lidl classic "Chalou gold". Good and very similar to J'adore by Dior. Basic bottle perfect for the bag

If you want to grab a fruity scent similar to J'adore that's very affordable at the supermarket, you can't go wrong here.

A beautiful, very similar alternative to the quite expensive J'adore. Radiant, elegant flowers, definitely not outdated or old-fashioned.

I find it very similar to J'adore, although not 100%. But I actually like it better than the original, as it's milder.

Uncomplicated, bright jasmine with a touch of cheerful apple rose and quite okay synthetic notes. Not groundbreaking, but pleasantly surprising.

Version 2021: A bit fruity, then vaguely floral, maybe rose. There's also a hint of soapiness. Later, it becomes slightly green and woody.

Smells like the original version of J'adore, which I don't remember anymore, but keeps appearing in dupes. Fresh, subtle, feminine. ++

Suddenly Lovely reminds me a lot of Replay Stone.
Just with a bit shorter longevity.
I prefer to use it on hot summer days.

Although L starts with floral-fruity-fresh notes, a sweet-sweaty sandalwood unfortunately takes center stage permanently.
