I may have been broken a prejudice...
by getting Suddenly Diamonds not being able to resist the price *and* actually reconsidering my attitude towards fruity-sweet-fresh fragrances of a typical genre, which I believe Boss is representing nicely.

Previously put off by even the mere sight of the bottle, I will now actually try Boss Orange on my skin.

And as for this dupe, it's very safe, clean, fresh, upbeat, up-to-day, and sweet (just the right amount). May well be the perfect day or sports frag, of course depending on your definition of a typical day, which for me, spicy orientals can also compliment!

I don't think you can lose anything by adding Suddenly Diamonds to your wardrobe, and the bottle is actually good-looking and very good quality for the price! I see myself tucking this perfume into my bag and spritzing myself during the day. Safely and worry-free.

Affordable Alternative
Since many people on Parfumo find the Suddenly fragrances from Lidl quite good, I have now also acquired the three available ones. I have Boss Orange in its original form and wanted to compare it with Suddenly Diamonds. Until this week, I would not have believed that discount fragrances could compete with branded scents. Well, the discount fragrances are not as refined in their development, but for the money, you really can't complain.

Suddenly Diamonds starts off fresher in the top note, but you really can't deny the similarity to Boss Orange. There seems to be bergamot and apple here as well. Overall, the scent is less pronounced than the original; you have to apply more to smell anything. I also find it a bit duller in the progression than the original, although it doesn't smell quite as artificial. However, I don't smell any flowers, and I also miss the woody elements. On the other hand, something develops in the base that I don't perceive in the original: vanilla.

Conclusion: If you can't afford the original, Suddenly Diamonds is a good choice. Personally, I prefer the original, but only by a minimal margin. I will definitely use up Suddenly Diamonds, maybe even repurchase it.

By the way, the scent lasts a whole day on me, what more could you want?

Red Apples on Vanilla Cream
So, just a quick comment on Suddenly Diamonds before it finally disappears from the shelves at Lidl.
I came across the fragrance when I was actually just looking for Madame Glamour (due to the enticing comments here). While I was at it, I also sniffed Diamonds and "Wow... does that smell good!" were my spontaneous thoughts, so I had to buy it immediately.
At that time, I didn't know Boss Orange at all, but I have since smelled it and can confirm the very strong similarity. Colour by La Rive also smells exactly the same.

What I smell most distinctly in Diamonds are sweet red, sliced apples (with a minimal tartness) and orange blossom, garnished with a big dollop of vanilla cream and served on a wooden plate.
The fragrance doesn't develop much on me; it only loses some of its red apple fruitiness over time and becomes softer and more vanilla-like until it gently fades away after about 4-5 hours. I don't know how the longevity is with Boss, but at the price of 5 euros / 50 ml at Lidl, the mediocre longevity doesn't bother me too much. The sillage is good with three sprays, and when I spray the fragrance in my hair, I can still smell it clearly in the evening when I move my head.

I find Suddenly Diamonds really extremely delicious and believe it can be worn year-round and for all occasions. Its fruitiness makes it suitable for spring and summer, and the vanilla also fits in autumn and winter (especially since the fruits in this fragrance work very well for the cold season). The vanilla and very slightly woody base also prevent it from coming off too childish. So, a true all-rounder, in my opinion.
A very nice sweet-fruity gourmand that I don't want to miss anymore!

heat-free
Phew, it's hot!
I don't know what else to take off.
I would gladly take a heat-free day and try to move as little as possible in the house, but unfortunately, I have a hair appointment.
The roots need to be "tarred" again.
Which fragrance will get me through this?
I’m trying Suddenly Diamonds from Lidl.
Its fresh orange reminds me of Boss Orange Sunset, but Suddenly is stronger due to the woody notes.
The Sunset feels more transparent.
However, Suddenly scores with a longer lasting power.
The vanilla note is also more pronounced.
I couldn't say off the bat which one I prefer.
Both fragrances have their advantages and fit well in the summer.
Sunset is a bit cooler - Suddenly is more persistent.
With both fragrances, you are well advised in the heat.
As always - a matter of taste.

When the student is better than the master...
So first of all... I'm not a big fan of Boss Orange. But, I know the scent. I find Boss Orange quite nice, but it doesn't blow me away. I've had a sample a few times, but it has never really clicked with me. Suddenly Diamonds has a distinctly woodier note, and that makes it more interesting for me. The other components, like orange, vanilla, and floral-powdery accents are almost identical. I prefer this copy to the original because it’s not so slick and boring!

I've since acquired it and must say, I wear it more often than I thought I would. I quite like it now. I wear it for all occasions. The sillage is good, the longevity is decent for half a day. Considering that for €4.99 you get a good scent again, Lidl deserves credit for its selection of products and should roll out the red carpet!

Fresh, fruity and very similar to Boss orange... at a very small price! What else? I'll buy it very soon!

Fruity-red apple, sweet, vanilla, warm, yet light - suitable for summer and winter, and smells just as delicious as Boss Orange.

Much nicer than Boss Orange, softer, rounder without any off-note. Finally available again, even if only online or in Switzerland.

Soapy and overpowering. My nose just can't deal with it. At least it clings bravely to the skin.

Once again, a great scent from the discount store. Good longevity at an absolute dream price.

Without knowing the original: a pleasant, apple-warm late summer scent. A subtle all-rounder. A bit like "All about Eve".
