This is it...
.....my alltime favourite!! The little heavy bottle with the decorative top arrived in a black velvet pouch (very accurate) in a black box, very well cushioned, so nothing should happen to it.

Perfume oil. A warm-creamy scent, cuddling to you and adding to your personality, not covering it. This is a scent for days when you are at ease with yourself. Imagine sitting cuddly with your sweatheart, candles burning. You're wearing something flowing, soft, nightblue velvety. Your favourite music plays in the background (not really techno), outside the snow is falling (a little melodram always adds to the atmosphere), you're sipping your favourite drink (IrishCoffee or punch would go well). Pure wellbeing.

If you like amber, your right on the spot with this one. The added patchouli adds a little twist, vanilla polishes the edges without making it to sweet. A scent that stays close, not daring to throw itself onto others.

black mass?
As a self-proclaimed amber fan, this fragrance was of course a must-try; the notes made my mouth water and my nostrils quiver just by reading about them.

Well, I have never used a perfume oil before, and I must say I find the handling a bit tricky. I put a few drops on the back of my hand and then didn’t know where to put the damp spot. I also don’t want to apply it to clothing because I fear I would never get the stains out. But that’s just a side note. What sacrifices wouldn’t one make for a great amber scent?!

Now, onto the fragrance itself. I suspect that dark amber smells darker and earthier than the lighter version. From the very beginning, I am greeted by a slightly crypt-like scent. Is it the patchouli, the dark amber, or a combination of both? I can’t say, but I’m not particularly fond of what I smell. I associate this scent with something morbid, cryptic, and dark.
This phase lasts a very long time (well over 1.5 hours) before the fragrance becomes overall lighter and friendlier. But only in a hint, never truly light and friendly.
Probably the light amber and vanilla can’t really counteract what the "dark forces" have stirred up.

I’m just going to assume that Black Amber is probably a great perfume (so many positive commentators can’t be wrong) and that it just doesn’t work for me due to my skin chemistry.

But that’s not a problem; luckily, there are "Ambras" that work wonders on me ;-))

This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius
At the end of the 60s of the last century, the revolution of love began.
Post-war conventions were finally thrown overboard, the mod style could no longer be called fashion, music, drugs, and festivals became the main pursuits of youth, communes were founded, everyone slept with everyone, LSD-fueled dancing as an expression of the sexual act was essential, the first rock idols established a myth because they all died at 27, Make Love Not War, the peace sign conquered the world just like untrimmed secondary sexual characteristics, women finally began to stomp free from oppression, everyone and their brother pilgrimaged to India to experience spiritual revelation (mostly it resulted in unwanted weight loss due to a nasty gastrointestinal infection), one of the best anti-war musicals took Broadway by storm: Hair. In short, the hippies rolled over the globe.

Over the years, the hippies evolved into eco-activists, part of the left, and esotericists, who then mixed all Asian, Hawaiian, and other un-Christian spiritual rites into a lump of dubious self-liberation. In the meantime, this has become a lucrative market with spiritual shops, tantra stuff, yoga spirit, and overpriced seminars where one could experience something metaphysical.

Yet the approach was so good...

So let's return to the origins and to the musical Hair and the film that came out a few years later, which perfectly implements everything I have listed so far.

Of course, the question remains: what did the hippies smell like?
To simply cater to the cliché: they smelled like Black Amber.

There is not much more to say about this fragrance, except:

"Harmony and understanding
Sympathy and trust abounding
No more falsehoods or derisions
Golden living dreams of visions
Mystic crystal revelation
And the mind

Killing me softly
Your reviews made me curious, so I ordered a sample of Blck Amber, Gardenia, and Tuberouse from luckyscent. (By the way, this went completely smoothly within a week).
These perfume oils are really very pleasant, present, special. Black Amber smells quite different on my skin depending on temperature and mood. It is very soft, earthy, velvety, and can also be quite subtle if you only dab on a small amount. When I first tested it, it was too intense, too dark, too overwhelming for me... I went out for Indian food afterwards, and my companion was very taken with the scent, which I still sniffed critically... okay, it fit perfectly with the ambiance ;-)
In the meantime, I am getting more and more fond of it, and yes, I wear it even when it’s warm outside and find it pleasant. It’s just a pity that it doesn’t last long on me, max. 2 hours. However, on clothing, the longevity is very good; it still smells lovely the next day. I will continue to test....

The best Amber!
Everything has already been said, and I can only agree. THIS is the best amber ever! Very dark, a bit morbid ;-) , warm, soft, close to the skin, erotic.
And I can also agree with LaTanguera: with this one, everything really works (!) - it never misses its effect ;-))

How I love this stuff! For me, still the most enveloping, warm amber without any fuss. Pure and good and hmmmmmm!

Dark, soft amber with a pronounced patchouli note. It melts velvety into the skin. Very sensual.

Unfortunately, it doesn't suit me at all, smells musty, a bit of amber, old leather, vanilla.
